Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

It just keeps on getting worse for my Phillies. Make it 9 straight losses now to fall to 9-14 on the season. I was just swept by the Dodgers in a 4 game series. 3 of the losses were of the walkoff variety with the last game being a walkoff 2-run home run by Yasiel Puig. That is now 5 walkoff losses in the last 6 games. I just don't have any answers. That 4 game series against the Dodgers may have been the worst series I have ever played in the history of The Show. It doesn't help that I struck out 41 times in the series. Just dreadful.

As I stated in my previous post, my bullpen was WAY overworked in that Dodgers series. I sent Freddy Galvis to Triple-A and called up RHP Shawn Camp to get a fresh bullpen arm in. After being up for 2 games I sent Camp back to Triple-A and called up Ronny Cedeno for the bench to be paired with Cesar Hernandez as the utility guys. With 2 off days coming in the next week, I will be able to use 5th starter Roberto Hernandez out of the bullpen.

It's looking like I will be sending LHP Jake Diekman to Triple-A and will recall LHP Mario Hollands. Diekman has been dreadful for me. He is 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in 7 innings pitched. 11 hits given up, 3 home runs allowed, 3 walks, and lefties are hitting .316 against him.

Mario Hollands has been pretty solid in Triple-A with a 1-0 record, 1.64 ERA in 11 innings pitched with 13 hits given up, no home runs allowed, 2 walks, and 11 strikeouts.

Next up is a 3 game series in Arizona against the Diamondbacks (11-14) to finish off the 10 game road trip.

A.J. Burnett will start game 1 of the series. He has been the best pitcher so far for the Phillies. He is 2-0 with a 0.31 ERA in 28.2 innings pitched with 21 hits given up, no home runs allowed, 11 walks, and 25 strikeouts. He'll face Patrick Corbin.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

The Phillies 9 game losing streak is finally over!! Broke the skid with a 2-1 win over the Diamondbacks. A.J. Burnett went 6 innings and gave up 3 hits, 1 home run, 3 strikeouts, and 4 walks. His ERA stands at a fantastic 0.52 on the season thus far.

This stretch got so bad that Dynamic Difficulty moved me down to Rookie+.

I have only scored 15 runs in my last 10 games. Horrendous. Dead last in MLB in batting average at .220. I have never been this bad in The Show series. Haha.

Ok so I have a Brewers franchise where I do a lot of simulating in but I still focus on the training and the scouting. I am in Sept. 2018 and I have some amazing stats to share with you. Will share them in a moment as I finish up the season.

Alright so I just finished up the regular season of 2018. For the first time the Brewers have made the post season for me!

Miguel Cabrera had 44 Hrs. at the end of July and finished with 52. He has 2,727 hits and 546 Hrs. at 34 years of age.

Kershaw had 19 wins at the end of July and finished with 21. He has 166 wins at age 29 in pursuit of 300.

              And finally.....

Joaquin Campillo was an 18 year old, A pot. player I drafted at first base. At 21 years of age I called in up to the majors because his power was over 90 vs Rhp and Lhp. At 21 years old he hit 49 homeruns for me. Bonds career record in jeopardy? We shall see.

I finally got in the Win column in my Braves franchise. A 2-0 victory over the Mets who were 1-5. Chris Johnson hit a 2R HR giving me the 2 runs. Medlen dominated 7IP 1H 1BB 4K. Venters with the 1IP Hold and Kimbrel with the save...

Just blew a 10-0 lead in the last 3 innings against the pirates playing as the giants.
My bullpen keeps blowing leads. My starters set it up and the bullpen ruins it.
Hope its gonne be better in june.

Decided to go for a rebuild and took over the Astros. I simmed the first year and will play all games moving forward.

I went from 5-2 to 5-6 real quick. The downfall was highlighted in a game against the Nats where I had a 9-0 lead and lost 14-10...

Just started June and getting a little frustrated with somethings. The problems persist with the offense just being terrible and I've come to the realization that my offense at home has some sort of ridiculous penalty attached to them because of Dodger Stadium being a so called "pitchers" park. Look at the team stats between home and away....

                        HOME (14-14)
                        • 0.228 Batting Avg
                        • 82 RBI's
                        • 15 HR's

                        AWAY (16-13)

                        • 0.250 Batting Avg
                        • 124 RBI's
                        • 33 HR's

Cant tell me there isnt something built in to artificially make Dodger Stadium a pitchers park, I felt the same thing on last years game and these stats back it up and quite frankly I think it's vastly overdone. My averages are down, my power is down, basically my team turns into hot garbage at home every single time I play there. If it wasn't for me wanting to keep things realistic I'd play every game on the road and avoid this entirely but I can't force myself to change the stadium pre-game. Anyways here are the individual stats...

Ok I'm a noob here to 30 team control. So how do I make everything AUTO except for the team that I am? I went to mode specific options but that changed it for everything. Can someone tell me the basics of 30 team control? I am trying to keep my game as realistic as possible.

Update on the two most exciting games I've played in my Braves franchise so far:

April 28: Up against the Marlins with Fernandez on the mound. He throws 7 innings of 1-run ball and I'm down 2-1 going into the top of the 9th. Cishek comes in and gets the first two batters to fly out, but then Justin Upton and Chris Johnson get back-to-back two out singles with Gattis up. Gattis hits a 3-run shot and I win the game 4-2.

May 18: Playing the Cardinals at Busch, in the rubber match of a 3-game set. Gavin Floyd throws 6 innings of no-hit ball but the surrenders 2 runs(one earned) to give the Cards a 2-1 lead. Fast forward to the top of the 9th, first two batters get retired against Rosenthal, Simmons takes a 4 pitch walk, and Ryan Doumit hits a pinch-hit two run blast to put the Braves up 3-2. Floyd pitches 8 innings for the win and Kimbrel closed it out.

Home cooking is a cure.... 1st series of the year at Turner field. I took 2 of 3 from the Mets. Offensively still a struggle, but pitching is all good. I shut them out twice and the Mets shut me out in Game 3. Neise for the Mets K'd me 11 times. This CPU SP is 2-0 with 2CG, 2SHO, already. I'll remember him down the road..

The Nats in here next. Game 1 Roark vs. Beachy, Game 2 Stratsburg vs. Teheran & Game 3 Zimmermann vs. Medlen..
