I'm thinking about starting either an Angels or Dodgers franchise, and keeping track of it in this thread.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

The Phillies have won 2 of their last 3 games winning the series in Arizona against the Diamondbacks. Cliff Lee was fantastic in going 8 shutout innings with 11 strikeouts. Before the finale of the 3 game series I made 2 roster moves that I hope will help get us on a little run here. The Phillies are now 11-15 on the season with 2 games remaining in April against the Mets.

I optioned Cody Asche (65 overall) to Triple-A as he has done ZERO for me. Asche hit .185 in 65 at-bats. 1 home run and 6 RBI. Not to mention his strikeouts.

Top prospect Maikel Franco (72 overall) has been called up to man 3rd base. Will help to have another power righty in the lineup. Franco had a solid game in his Major League debut going 2-3 with an RBI and a walk. His first Major League hit came in his first at-bat. He also made a great play at third base during the game as well.

LHP Jake Diekman has been optioned to Triple-A to get some things straightened out. He was 0-2 with an 11.05 ERA. LHP Mario Hollands has been called up to take his spot.

If things don't get better by mid-May I will strongly consider putting quite a few names on the trading block. Ryan Howard, Carlos Ruiz, Marlon Byrd, Ben Revere, and more could hit the block.

Surprised Revere isn't doing well. Hope things turn around!

Not doing well at all. Tony Gwynn Jr. has outplayed him big time and has been getting the bulk of playing time in CF lately.

Ive played maybe 15 games. Once i got finished with the draft i really wanted to get to 2015. I use TNK's sliders but on Hall of Fame pitching and hitting.

Just had my best pitching performance of the season so far in my Rays franchise.

David Price pitched a complete game 5-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts against the White Sox. Dominance.

His ERA now stands at 3.16 on the season.

Finally back after awhile. I'm about 100 games into my season and I'm still playing pretty well. My record is 72-31. I play about 3 out of 5 games or so. I'm honestly looking forward to the playoffs since I'm 15 games up in the AL East. Also, I've retooled the farm system. I traded away Michael Pineda, Gary Sanchez, and Heathcott to the Cubs for Javier Baez, a B Potential 3B prospect, and a B Potential SP Prospect. There's no trades whatsoever going on in my Franchise, which I find to be pretty unusual.

Alright I need your guys opinion.. This is for my Reds franchise..

I just recently got Carlos Marmol via trade (Reds actually picked him up off Waivers IRL) to help in the pen.

Cingrani was supposed to pitch against the Braves one day but his energy wasnt 100% and my bull pen was taxed after a couple extra inning games so I called up James McDonald (Acquired from Cubs trade for Strop) to pitch after Cingrni. He pitched pretty well and I liked his stuff.

I want to keep McDonald with the Reds (He is a SP with good stuff, he can pitch 3 or 4 innings if needed out of the pen.. Or he could start if need be and he is just someone new. Someone different to play with..

                    Here is my Pen..

                    McDonald ( 1 hit in 2 innings)
LeCure (2.03 ERA in 13.1 IP)
Parra (lefty, 2.45 ERA in 7.1 IP)
Marmol (recently acquired no ML options)
Strop (2.70 ER in 10 IP)
Marshall (5.68 ERA in only 6.1 IP)
Broxton (0.00 ERA in 10.2 IP)
Chapman (.79 ERA in 11.1 IP with 10 Saves)

Who should I send down? Or should I keep a 8 man bullpen?

This post may be kinda confusing, but basically, I want to keep McDonald on the team, I just dont know who to send down

The easy answer would be Marshall, how has he been hit? Is he giving up many walks? Or do you feel as if his ERA is a bit of bad luck?

Yeah he has given up 6 hits, 1 walk, and 1 homer in 6.1 IP.. So the most logical answer would be to send him down, but he is the second best rated in the pen and he is a lefty with nasty stuff. He might be an option.. I might just send down Parra, and have Strop or Marmol in the set up spot in the pen. And pitch Marshall against Lefties??

I'm the Cubs, traded Darwin Barney and Emilio Bonifacio to the Angels for JB Shuck and Taylor Lindsey. The move has paid dividends for me. In his first game as a Cub, Shuck went 5-5! His average has gone from .166 to .249 in under a month. Lindsey is tearing up triple-A, hitting almost .400.

As for Bonifacio and Barney? Neither one is batting over .200. :P

Just starting a new chise with the hybrid rosters that came out yesterday and I wanted an opinion on training assignments, particulary for young prospects. Of course I want them to be great hitters but the realism-chasing side of me says to let them auto train, making it more like rreal life, where its not automatic that a higher prospect will become a great hitter. Does anyone else think this way or am I just crazy?

I seem to be one of the few you use the Dbacks, but really enjoying them so far. Picked them as my team because they are a decent team, despite how they are doing now in real MLB. I do not use sliders and I use dynamic pitching and hitting. It has me at Allstar ++ on pitching and on batting I forget. I am in great shape with my pitching staff, I have Bradley and Shipley in minors both Top 50 prospects, both almost rdy for a callup. With my pitching staff doing good, not sure I will call them up..at least right now.Patrick Corbin has a nasty slider and it has lead him to top of NL pitching leaderboard.

I released Bronson Arroyo, picked up Jeff Nieman from Free Agency. Finally i trade B Prospect pitcher for Mitch Haniger from the Brewers. So almost the exact real Dbacks team.

As of June 5 2014 all games played no simming. Please ingore Jeff Nienman error, He has 2 wins not 20
I also forget to list Addison Reed but is 1-2 2.70 Era with 16 saves
