Ironically, my budget was still pretty tight in FA (keeping in mind that I do 30 team control, and alleviate player contracts just a bit for realism). I signed Yunel Escobar and Adam Lind, but otherwise kept quiet. Somehow, I left with almost zero money to spend afterwards. I wanted to sign Brown to a long extension, but I had no luck.

I'm a big franchise guy, and I'm running a franchise with the Yankees(Favorite team) and Twins(Wanna help build them up). I'm looking to have one more franchise and having trouble deciding on some teams. The teams I was thinking of were:
Rays-Small market, low payroll, opposite of Yankees basically
Angels- Underacheiveing team with lots of talent
Brewers- Interesting team with some good pieces
      Dodgers- Tons of talent

So what do you guys think? Open to any other suggestions of teams as well, thanks in advance.

Brewers could be interesting.. Plus it can also give you a fresh air of the AL and move to battle with the Cardinals and Pirates
      New York Yankees
      Green Bay Packers
      San Antonio Spurs

Been a member forever but don't post much but im having one of the strangest starts ever to my cubs franchise. So here goes... I am 18 games into the season we are at 8-10. I play 1 game full then quick count five and sim pitching. This way I get a full game pitched with each starter. Ok here is were it gets strange as a team we are hitting .223 (20 ranked in mlb) with 25 hrs as a team, problem is javier baez ( using osfmv2) has 13hrs and is hitting .407. I don't want to turn the power slider below five because nobody else on the team has more 4hrs. It just seems like I can do no wrong with baez. Anyone else ever had a player start this hot. I think the next best player is rizzo he is hitting .274 with 4hrs.

April 26 in my Cubs franchise and got a trade offer from the Braves, Pasternicky for Bonafacio, turned it down. Was just wondering how early was your first trade offer?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

Just lost to the blue Jays in the first game of the three game series and it was a strange one. There were 30 hits combined, 5 home runs(all by blue jays), a walk off double and one broken hand. Bautista hit three home runs so on his 4th at bat I decided I had enough of that and hit him in the hand with a fastball. Well that ended up breaking his hand and now he is out for a month...

Decided to restart and go with the orioles we are 4-5 I won my first 4 games the first 3 were all extra inning games against the Red Sox and hit a walk off each time then I won 10-0 against Detroit and now my pitching is really killing me and my offense isn't scoring. 7 runs fun to play with all the power hitters

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

After the hybrid rosters have came out with pitch edits, I'm having a hell of a time trying to pick a team and dive head first into a franchise. I'm hoping you guys can point me in a good direction.

                  Here's my criteria:

                  1. At least one good power hitter that wouldn't be a surprise to lead MLB in avg, or HRs, or RBIs, etc.

                  2. One true Ace pitcher.

                  3. Good stadium, that looks good at night.

                  4. (not a deal breaker) possibly have a prospect destined to breakout soon that could become a star, or could flop.

                  Thanks for all suggestions.

Toronto- great lineup with power, decent pitching and cool stadium

Tampa Bay- Longoria, Myers and David Price

Giants- Solid pitching, decent hitting and the best looking stadium IMO

Miami- Jose Fernandez and Giancarlo Stanton.

I myself am deciding between the Braves, Brewers, Giants and Dodgers

Miami has two of the best young players in the entire game. You get a great pitcher and a great hitter

2-10 Yikes!!!! I didn't do so good against the Nats. I got swept. My offense is anemic right now. Heyward is the only one hitting over .300 with 0HR 2RBI nasty... Freeman is struggling .182 2HR 4RBI, J-Up .105 0HR 1RBI... Uggla .000 no hits, 14K's... Gattis was looking promising .278 2HR 3RBI, but he has landed on the 15dy DL shldr inflammation.

Up next is the Phillies. First series with them and they are 3-9. I called up the C Bentacourt he will be starting. I also will play CF Scafer for the first two games in place of B.J. Upton, so I can put Heyward in more of a run production situation..

Running a franchise with my Astros (OSFM v2 roster) and so far I'm enjoying it with DD on. We've swept the Yankees in our opening series, although Game 3 was more on the dominant side.

Game 1: 5-4 victory thanks to a Springer walkoff RBI single in the 9th
Game 2: 2-1 win, pitching staff held them in check after the run in the 2nd
Game 3: 11-2 blowout, 26 hits for the 'Stros in the contest. Jason Castro came to play, belting out 2 HRs with 4 RBIs

The California, scratch that, the LA Angels of Anaheim are in town for a 4-game set and it hasn't been easy. Blown leads and no run support have us riding a 3-game losing skid right now, possibly 4 after the finale.

Game 1: Astros lose 4-2 thanks to a 2-run 6th inning for the Angels and a quiet Houston offense which only produced 6 hits in the game.

Game 2: The bats were alive for both teams as they combined for 7 HRs, 20 runs, and 32 hits total. We failed to hold the lead as they scored 9 runs in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings combined, winning 13-7.

Game 3: Yet another heart-breaking (and controller throwing) moment for the Astros. Down 4-2 in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, Dexter Fowler smashed a Frieri pitch into the Crawford boxes for a two-run shot to force the game into extra innings. The excitement didn't last long as Fields' 1st pitch in the 10th was blasted into the left field bullpen by Mike Trout, giving the Angels a 5-4 lead which proved to be the winning run.

Winning Game 4 will be a tough order as C.J. Wilson will be taking the mound for those pesky Angels. If we do lose our 4th straight, we could possibly go from 2nd in the AL West to dead last.

                            Angels (6-0)
                            Astros (3-3, 3.0 GB)
                            Rangers (3-3, 3.0 GB)
                            Mariners (3-4, 3.5 GB)
                            Athletics (3-4, 3.5 GB)

Just curious: did you edit Springer at all to be a little darker skin tone? I thought he was a bit light in OSFM and based on what I've seen I'm guessing he is half black half white.
