    Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

Is last year's DD setting comparable to this year's "Default" setting (5)?

Whatever number THAT equated to last year had a little too quick of a variance for me...

So, that means I want to set this BELOW the equivalent of last's years default and then "zero out" to lock it in once I hit the levels I like, right?

    Thanks!

I haven't had the game long enough to tell whether or not Default/5 is the same as last year, but I'd say it's pretty safe to assume it is.

I'm currently using 2 and it is moving at a perfect pace for me for now.

And yes, zero will lock your levels into place.

Dang, forgot to bump the slider up to the max last night. Pitched a shutout with the Rockies (Lyles started and went 7 innings then the bullpen finished the job) against the White Sox, but I'm still on Rookie +.

If you want to move up at lightning speed, max out the DD slider and use King Felix against a AA team. Then for hitting, use the AL All-Stars against the same scrubs.

Not only that, but if you want to move even faster than the speed of light, you can also zero out the CPU hitting/pitching sliders and max out yours.

If you find that you've reached the level you want "start" at on only one side (IE, you reach AS for hitting and are still on Rookie for pitching), you can fast forward half innings. Doing so disable DD on the side you fast forwarded for the rest of the game.

I'm on All-Star now on both sides.

now that I've gotten locked into All-Star+, the games can finally begin. excited about being able to give All-Star+ a good run this year, where as last year, I would either drop down or move up too quickly to actually get comfortable.

How do you reset dynamic difficulty? tried a new profile, didn't work. tried a new RTTS, didn't work. I didn't see the slider and wanted to start a new RTTS at the beginning and incorporate the slider.

              Any idea?

Creating a new profile will in fact reset it, but you need to create it from either the Beginner or Experienced Template - creating it from your current profile will simply carry the Dynamic level over to the new one.

For RTTS you'll need to change your default profile to the new one, too.

                  Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

I decided to try this again for 15 with the added features to it. I'm playing through Spring Training in the 2020 season of my Cubs franchise. So far I'm on Veteran hitting and All-Star+ pitching. I figure I can get 10 games in with Spring Training and level it out, then I'll be ready to start the regular season.

I did go ahead and make some slider adjustments, mostly with fielder speed/arm strength and runner speed. I also lowered pitcher consistency and control a couple of notches for each side (neither side was getting walks through the first few games).

The game plays pretty great out of the box, so I don't think many adjustments will be needed in regards to sliders.

Did this tonight and after a couple of games I'm at All-Star for both hitting and pitching. I've re-adjusted my gameplay sliders to default and the DD slider I dropped to 2; that way I won't see a rapid increase/decrease in my play, but it does leave room for things to adjust if need be.

                    Time to get crackin' now!

Just a question about DD, this thread is very long to search. What do the ratings at the start of the innings mean? For instance, when it was my half of the inning to pitch it said Rookie + Progress ++. Did I move up two levels? I just started using it on my first game last night.

                      Thanks!

Rookie + is your current level, the ++ after is your progress toward the next level which is veteran. Each inning you will see either ++ or -- which is your progress either up or down toward the next level.

Thank you so much. Apparently I suck at hitting...that had -- at the rookie level lol.

There area actually 4 sub levels between each level. So you have to get either 4 + marks or 4 - marks before being promoted or demoted to the next level. Just FYI

I absolutely love dynamic difficulty. It never have to wonder if I'm playing at a level that is either to hard or too easy for me.

I've been interested in trying MLB's version of it but never could get myself so far to actually do so. Is it more or less the same as Madden's or is the implementation better?

With Madden you'll rush 20 yards in a game, then they adjust the difficulty so much that you'll rush for 350 yards the next. And guess what, the next game you are back at 20 yards. The system's changes were way too drastic and it struggled to really find a balance.

Does this happen in Show's dynamic difficulty? If I say hit 4 homers in one game, will I hit 0 in the next 5 games? With Madden it almost felt as if you were being punished for having a good game...I really don't want to even try this if it's more or less the same result with MLB.

                                I appreciate any feedback.

To sum it up, NEVER try comparing anything Madden has with The Show. It is not even close. Dynamic difficulty is amazing especially with the slider mentioned above to adjust how fast you go back and forth.
The difficulty changes constantly so you never see HUGE changes like in Madden.

Another example of something the show got perfect is challenges. I have done two this year and both worked exactly how they should, it is amazing.
