    Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

I was using DD for my franchise and rtts with TNK's Sliders. Then it seem to have strange runs, so I restarted a franchise. Used DD for spring training and by Opening day whatever it said I was at (ex: Veteran Batting/All-Star Pitching) thats what I used for my year. Then repeated the process, DD for Spring Training and Skill for season.
My RTTS, I use DD for Showcase, Result for AA (Ex: Veteran) and then advanced a level for AAA and then advanced a level when I hit the MLB.

Is anyone still using DD? I'm in sick, once again this year, with a major case of slideritis. I'm seriously considering flipping back on DD and setting all sliders to default and just having some fun. This is getting exhausting.

One of the main reasons I'm having the best experience with this title to date, is DD...

I too, am a bit of a "slider-holic" and this feature has really delivered for me...

I came up with some "baseline" sliders (in my Arena / Blog) and haven't been tempted to change them at all...

I played a season with SD where I ended up with Rookie + Hitting and HOF Pitching...

Created a new profile for the HOU franchise I'm halfway though year one with and am at AS+ for both hitting and pitching...

I'd say I've played about 60 - 75 games and can't imagine how much "angst" I've saved myself with "set and forget"...

          Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

For pitching, I leave it on HOF and knock contact, power, solid hits, and timing to 4. I think I put timing or contact back to 5. I also made user pitcher control and consistency more difficult. It is a good mix. Sometimes I can shut down the cpu, sometimes they put up 10+ runs on me. My Team ERA is around 3.7 with Houston in 2017 (my rotation is actually pretty solid and my bullpen is filled up with prospects on the uprise).

            Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

The only issue I was having was strike outs for my hitters--they just weren't happening. In changing pitch speed, again, I'm seeing more, but now I'm just not getting as realistic swings on the ball.

I might just go with it and give our team credit for just putting the bat on the ball! That's really the only stat that was out of whack.

              Dynamic Difficulty?

How many games does it take for it to be at the "perfect" difficulty?
Also, does it work well with Quick Counts on?

I like dynamic difficulty. I'm not good at hitting, so hitting is still on rookie, but I've gotten my pitching difficulty to veteran.

                  Works great with QC.

To get a good rendering of your skill set, I'd say 25 games is a decent sample size. If you play through ST in your franchise, you should start the regular season very close to your "true" levels.

Let me ask you guys something. I'm not that good at hitting. I been stuck on rookie plus since I got the game. Is dynamic something I should used or just play rookie for batting and all star for pitching. Does dynamic hurt you or help you in your franchise? Also I use guess pitch I know ppl hate it but it help me,does dynamic hitting punish u if u use guess location?

Have you tried playing without guess pitch for any length of time? Do you strike out a lot? I don't think dynamic difficulty will hurt you in anyway in franchise.

                        Re: Dynamic Difficulty?

So I started using dynamic difficulty a while back and really like it. My only problem is that every game is very low scoring, like 1-0, 2-1, 2-0, etc.
I've been playing for a while so I believe I am on veteran + for hitting and sometimes almost get to all star (there are sometimes for plus signs) and my pitching is also close to all-star but I can barely score runs and I barely give up any runs. Any ideas of what is going on?

                          Are you playing as HOU?

I have a handful of franchises going, all with DD, and I'm seeing a pretty wide variety of outcomes. My HOU one is defined by light offense, but in my OAK one I'm scoring about like they do in real life.

Also, what's your hitting mechanic? Are you a timing guy, zone? If you're a timing guy, I have found that using R2 and the R-stick to aim your hit pre-pitch helps produce more solid contact. I orient my pre-pitch influence toward my hitter's cold zones, as that's often where the CPU pitchers try to attack, and that helps. If you're a zone guy, you might consider "looking" in one of your cold zones while you're ahead in the count. You'll get more solid contact if you do that, and that might help the offense.

Are you using multiple profiles for DD or the same one in all of your Franchises?

If multiple, I'd be interested in seeing which teams lead you to which difficulty levels. If the same, does one team tend to cause you to promote more or demote more than the other does?

Anyway, I find it pretty cool that you use multiple teams with DD. Brian said earlier he'd estimate that a player's team selection could cause a half level difference in level. Any impressions would be interesting, for sure.

Yes and I was playing as them a few years in and my contact was 1st and power was 4th and my pitching was 2nd (it shows these in the standings menu) I just couldn't score any it seemed.
I am using zone lately and liking it and what you said sounds interesting and I will try it

I wish I kept more detailed track of this, but I can say that different teams have produced different difficulty levels for me.

With pitching, I got to HOF with OAK, not surprisingly, but I hovered around Veteran/All Star with HOU.

Hitting-wise, with LAD, I jumped very quickly to All Star, whereas my OAK and HOU franchises have tended to linger at Veteran.
