Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
Some folks are more susceptible to framerate issues than others. I fall into the camp of having a sensitive eye to noticing it, and yes, cutscenes are not as smooth. However, I don't let it bother me as long as the framerate issues aren't present when pitching or batting -- moments that matter the most.
I personally also skip many of the cutscenes just to reduce game time. Many of the cutscenes are repetitive and/or carried over from past years of The Show. Seen it, been there, done that.Comment

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
All I heard was how these next gen systems were so powerful in what they could do and how easy it was to develop for compared to last gen. Well then why do we still have framerate issues and long loadtimes. Sure the games are prettier but from a technical standpoint it's disappointing. Look no further than BF4 for all there failures to get a handle on the systems."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

When you see games that have actually been made for just PS4 and not cross platform they perform much better.
In ways I wish MLB skipped a year on PS4 so they could rebuild the game or at least optimise it better whilst putting in worthwhile additions.
The PS3 has held this years PS4 version back in my opinion. I think and really hope we see massive improvements for 15.

I suspect its more to do with the show code than the console.

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
Hmmm... This is interesting. I let a CPU game play out without skipping any cut scenes and I am just not seeing this choppiness others are. Sometimes there is minor slowing but nothing that looks anywhere near what is being described her. In fact, the game is so pretty with all the presentation effects and cut scenes, I find it quite enjoyable. Something else must be triggering this problem.Comment

framerate is extremely disappointing
Give it time, new consoles aren't more powerful in a "plug and play" way. It takes time for devs to learn how to take advantage of the consoles power. Also the first cycle the devs have to deal with setting up new controllers, and I would assume dealing with new APIs for communicating with the console OS. A lot of it is one time setup things, I expect in the next year or two games will really start to improve.

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
Yeah.. the cutscenes are incredibly poor. Tons of framerate issues. The cutscenes have always been pretty bad in past games too where there is stuttering. It just makes the experience suffer a bit, because the some of the cutscenes reaallly show off the power of the PS4. AhhhhComment

The whole dev team focussed on making only one game on one system.
Thats when we'll see what the PS4 can really do...and yes, i love this years game too, its fantastic.Comment

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
I think it because the game has V-Sync on, so it has to stay in even divisors of 60. It seem to drop below 30 so that cuts it all the way to 15 from 60, that's extremely noticeable right off the bat.PSN: KMRBlue1027
PS4 Games:
Battlefield 4
MLB: The Show (Duh)
