I see framerate issues even with hardly any crowd in view. After a strikeout, or batter walkup it's pretty bad.

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
For me its the worst when they show a cut scene right after a runner gets to second base. No crowd2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
I agree with you. The thing is watch when a player just enters the frame on a cut scene. His shadow that should be projecting on the ground when hes just barely off screen doesnt show up until his body appears on screen. It looks really odd for a shadow to just appear all of a sudden. I know its a small thing but now that I notice it I cant stop lol. Thats why I wonder about things not being visible affecting the graphics.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
Framerate drops dramatically on cutscenes in the bench though...with no crowd. So it's not the crowd.Comment

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
i agree it's a bit disappointing due to how it looks and feels when it is at 60 fps. but, imo i think it's a optimization of the hardware issue. i've seen it slow down in places i wouldn't think it would and runs perfectly during sequences when i think it should slow down...this gives me hope in further optimization with a patch or mlb 15.Comment

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
I'm trying to play every game on my fantasy franchise where I am playing as the Giants.
I didn't notice the problem in road games but as soon as I came home to AT&T park the FPS became so low during at-bats that I was constantly grounding out / swinging at bad pitches. I just simmed my 2nd home-game because it just wasn't enjoyable for me.
I really can't understand how this problem isn't fixed upon release. They must have known that thousands of high resolution 3D models would consume more resources.
The crowd doesn't affect game-play at all and I would rather they used the old "2D wall" style crowd over this unplayable nonsense. I'll be taking a break from the game for now.Last edited by dregos; 05-30-2014, 03:28 PM.Comment

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
I'm new to the message board and have been following this issue - and see it mostly relating to crowds during fielding. Are there any settings on a TV that can help to mitigate or make this issue worse? Or are there TVs with settings that minimize this issue? Just trying to understand if the new TV I bought with my PS4 was the wrong choice and is making this worse.Comment

As for your TV...
Your biggest thing to look for is the input response-time. 5ms is a standard response time on modern day (aging) televisions. Personally I only play PS4 on my 1ms LCD which has no "smoothing" enhancements. You will want to turn all of these enhancements off when gaming as it will only add input delay. Some TV's have a "game-mode" option which will either improve input response, make it worse, or have no noticeable effect at all. It really differs from tv to tv.Comment

Re: framerate is extremely disappointing
Agree, it is the worse when batting after the ball is in play. It sounds like you're suggesting that this issue really has nothing to do with the TV and everything to do with the game. Appreciate the thoughts on the input lag (but from the sounds of it, that's a different issue).Comment
