This is my opinion, but I think this is totally possible. As I showed Nem and the guys, the cutscenes are actually already rendered in realtime. I'm sure we will see more on this, and how it's been implemented into gameplay, during the presentation (think player's emotions) stream.

Anyway, probably a little off-topic... sorry.

It really is a chess match on where to put the fielders. I remember a few years back at CD when we were trying to get more doubles into the game down the line. Moving these fielders a little really alters the balance of game as a whole. So basically they are where they are for overall game balance.

Maybe it was just me but it seems to happen a lot more often in MLB 14 The Show then it happens in real life. You will hardly ever see the catcher throw a wild throw to first base on a dropped third strike.
I only saw this once, and it was from a human player. The baserunning improvements and added fielding/throwing animations greatly improve these type of situations. The CPU catcher is more aware of the baserunner, and will 'make an angle' for his throw. Overall, I think the catcher corrals bad pitches better (unless it was placebo, lol).

Ha, tell Francisco Cervelli that! Anyway, I did not see any issue with this. I did not have any in my time playing and I think ThaSlab said he had maybe one. We were looking!

You are correct. I think what ends up happening is that by having those outfielders so shallow it messes up how often a player takes an extra base on a single. At least we have infield/outfield sliders now. Usually my first move with gameplay out of the box is lower arm strength.

Can you view a replay before choosing to challenge a call? (I know they're not supposed to in real life, but the coaches don't just go down into the tunnel to get out of the sun )

And, this might be veering more towards presentation, but are there scenes to show how a challenge plays out? Particularly with the umpire making the signal either way?

Not sure if I can answer this. It might be more for presentation. Maybe Ramone can answer. Sorry bcruise!

This is sort of a gameplay question i think

On plays at the plate does the catcher or even umpire move the bat on the ground out of the way so it does not interfere with the play at the plate?

I think this would be a very cool animation to see in the game.

I'm going to withhold judgement until I try it, but based on what I'm hearing, I agree. The rhythm of trying to time both your stride and your swing based on the pitcher's specific delivery, both regular and out of the stretch, and taking into consideration that pitcher's repertoire (does he have a great fastball? Do I react to the fastball or do I sit on it? Is he going offspeed here, should I start my stride a little later?) was incredibly fun and rewarding. THAT was a game within a game, and the reason I used pure analog.

Seems like they dumbed it down to nothing

                          They don't do this.

                            1. Is there an option to turn off the diamond shaped base running indicator (pre and post pitch)?
In the stream, I liked how there was effort on the devs part to allow gamers to remove many of the on screen displays for those who like it to look as broadcast like as possible while playing. (I'm also hoping for an answer regarding the option to turn off the blue icon under the player with the ball...I also use auto fielding / manual throwing)

No, unfortunately you cannot turn off the baserunner position OSD. At least I don't believe so. Not sure what happens on auto baserunning, but it is present even in CPU vs. CPU games. That's funny because you can turn off every other OSD, including the scorebug. I personally didn't check the fielder indicator icon thing, sorry.

                            2. During gameplay, did you notice toned down activity of the crowd and vendors (getting up and walking around so often)?

Yes, it has been toned down. The fans are a lot less "antsy" this year. You will still see vendors walking all the way down and back up.

                            3. Did you notice if fans better track where the ball is hit? Some years ago it seems the fans followed the action of the ball better (most noticeable in replay/slow motion).

Didn't particularly look for it, sorry. This is more presentation based and should be discussed during the presentation stream, maybe?

edit 4. Have you noticed any pop-up slides?

Yes! Saw a very cool pop-up slide at first. It was user controlled too.

                            Thanks!

I agree, first time ever I have been disappointed by the show, I don't understand how this analog systems was even thought to be put into the game....It sounds too simplistic, and makes no sense, why would swinging to the left = contact? It makes no sense and is not intuitive at all. BY instinct if a pitch is outside i'll swing that way, only to be using a contact swing when I dont want to. Dumbed down and makes no sense.
