Re: A problem with year to year saves

Does anyone know if the SCEA cap players that were added last year will be replaced with their official SCEA player model?

Examples: Grady Sizemore, Xavier Nady, Chone Figgins, Casey McGehee, Evan Meek, Joe Beimel, Andres Blanco?

Out of curiosity can you edit the CAP replacements of Konerko and Jeter? I'm assuming they'll have some service time too?

I'm pretty sure that any SCEA created player (that includes guys like Sizemore as long as you're using the Sizemore that SCEA created) will get updates. So face scan/batting stance/pitching motion/equipment

I think you meant which players would be intact...in your last part of your post....no way to import players mid franchise(YET...Ramone did say they were looking into it....POSSIBLY for a patch this year)....which would solve the problem(if they also allowed us to export/import real players...which would also have to happen.

Idk why they removed some players. Medlen and Beachy should be there. Both gained a year of service time while on the DL. Tim Beckham of the Rays should be there as well. He played in 5 games in 2013, yet his baseball reference page has him at 0.0145 days of service time. No way you accumulate that kind of time with just 5 games. He was also on the Rays 40 man abd on the DL all year in 2014.

So it looks like like I can't transfer a RTTS player from mlb 14 ps3 version to the mlb 15 ps4 version correct? I just saved it to the Cloud and to a USB drive and it says there is no version to load in the load screen.

Are you sure you're doing it correctly? It only works via cloud, NOT via USB.

And if so, that's disheartening... I thought this crossover thing was confirmed to work between PS3 and PS4?

I'm planning on making the switch this week. I won't if the file won't transfer.

It hasn't worked for me yet. I went to my PS3 and saved it to my online storage. I just popped the new mlb game in, went to load '14 RTTS player from cloud and said there was nothing there.

Maybe Russell can speak to what the problem may be. May be I am not doing it right but I did save it to the Cloud and it isn't pulling over to the new one.

Don't forget you have an early access copy if you are playing MLB 15 right now. The game is still 3+ hours away from being officially released. It is possible that you will need to wait until sometime after the official release for this feature to become enabled.

That's true. I did get the anniversary edition of the game and the code to unlock all the extra content keeps saying it's not valid yet because it's only valid between 3/31/15 through 3/31/16. I'll try it again tomorrow and see but if it still doesn't work then that will just suck.

I'm just wondering how it looks for the players to be removed with the franchise saves.

As for career stats....I hope they don't get wiped.

However...I see a wishlist item if these things are removed.

I transfered my Yankees franchise and a random player replaced Josh Willingham and they had the same career stats. So they don't get wiped.

Doesn't The Show have is own cloud to upload saves to. Aren't you suppose to use that instead of the Sony Online Storage. Or is that what you used?

I only used the PSN cloud to save the game. Is there somewhere else I am supposed to save it? I don't ever remembering there being an option to save on the Cloud within mlb 14.

No, it's not. If a player is on a teams 40 man roster an entire season and injured the entire year and played the year before he accumulates service time and is still considered apart of the MLBPA. Same goes for players on the restricted list. Example this year is Alex Rodriguez was on the Yankees 40 man and restricted list last season and is still in MLB 15. Franklin Gutierrez of the Mariners was also on his teams 40 man all season while on the restricted list and he is missing in MLB 15. He shouldn't be.

Kris Medlen, Tim Beckham, Brandon Beachy should all be in MLB 15 and are missing. All accumulated service time last season while injured. Look at Matt Moore of the TB Rays he went on the DL in spring training last year (tJ Surgery) and he's still in MLB 15.

Brandon Beachy's service time in MLB 14 is 3.014. Go to his baseball reference page and as of January 2015 he has 4.014 years of service time while not playing a single game last season.
Kris Medlen in MLB 14 4.137 and as of January 2015 his service time is now 5.137.

Tim Beckham of the Rays played in 5 games in 2013. Tore his ACL in Spring training of 2014. Was on the Rays 40 man the entire 2014 season (Still on their 40 man now) and accumulated 0.145 days of service time and has already exceeded rookie limits without playing a single game in 2014. No way you accumulate that kind of service playing in 5 games the year before.

Start your PS3 '14....load up your RTTS.....choose UPLOAD TO CLOUD.
Now start PS4 '15 and there is an option to LOAD FROM CLOUD.
Save your RTTS and you can load it from the PS4 HDD from then on.

I have not been around long enough. I've only been playing this game since late in the MLB 12 release cycle. I do remember in my previous MLB 12, 13 and 14 titles seeing tons of former players appear in the pool of free agents. Why were they kept around while injured players were removed from the game? Unless a player has officially announced their retirement, one would think these players at the very least would appear in this collection of free agents.

Sounds like SCEA will be working on a player import feature which will solve many of these issues we are seeing now. But this won't be available until next year and based on their silence on the issue, it looks like we are SOL in regards to MLB 15. It appears that if we really want these injured players in our games, that we will need to create the player likenesses ourselves with the player editor. Unfortunate for sure, I'd rather be playing baseball games than be trying to replicate somebody's face with an editor. But it's not a show stopper ... at least for me.
