Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Ok while technically not a Franchise (so I won't be posting that much here), my 2015 Season (with 30-team control) has officially begun and this year I did not want to cheat, so this year I have not touched the player ratings at all. The only thing I did do was take the best players from each team (regardless of whether or not they were injured in the real world) and made sure they were on their respective team's 25-man rosters and/or in the various starting lineups. I will be controlling the Rockies which should test my patience. I have one of the better hitting teams with a good defense. But the trade off is I have the absolutely worst pitching staff of all 30 teams. I can't see myself beating the Dodgers, but hopefully I can still be competitive with the other NL West teams and still be in the hunt come September for a Wild Card playoff spot.

    Play Ball!!!

PS: the Big League stadiums I have seen so far look absolutely fantastic.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

We are 2-4 after dropping 2 of 3 against the Reds in GABP. Finally in the 3rd game of the series, our bats came alive. We put up 8 runs on 13 hits, which is easily our best offensive performance this young season. Unfortunately, Waino wasn't his stellar self and was knocked out without getting the win.

We are about to get our first home game of the year as we welcome the Brewers to town for 3. Hopefully a little home cookin will get our guys out of the funk and back to winning baseball.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

My franchise started in epic fashion. My first game was on opening day against our division rival Toronto Blue Jays. The pitching matchup was Masahiro Tanaka vs 40 year old RA Dickey. Dickey shut the Yankees down for five innings, only allowing two hits and one error in that span. Both hits were to Jacoby Ellsbury. Then, in the sixth, Ellsbury homered to tie the game after Michael Saunders scored in the third for the Blue Jays.

Toronto retook the lead after Ezequiel Carrera scored in the eighth. (At that point, I had pulled Tanaka with the game tied 1-1. I brought in Justin Wilson, who promptly allowed Carrera to double and score. I thought the game was over. Dickey threw ~95 pitches, shutting us down time and time again. Finally, a McCann ninth inning double (his first hit of the game) scored Garrett Jones to tie the game 2-2. Then, in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, the game tied 2-2, Chris Young hit a booming homer off Brett Cecil to give the Yankees an incredible 4-2 walk off win on opening day.

Ellsbury went 3/4, one HR, one RBI and two stolen bases to earn player of the game honors. The "face" of the team, Brett Gardner, and one of my favorite players, went 0-3 with a walk, reach on an error and an SB. Didi Gregorious was hitless in his debut. Mark Teixeira went 1-4 with two strikeouts. Brian McCann was 1/4 with a double, a strikeout and an RBI. Chase Headley was 0/4. Alex Rodriguez was 1/3, Stephen Drew was hitless with two strikeouts, and Chris Young hit the game winning homer.

Tanaka pitched seven innings, giving up five hits yet allowing just one run. Tanaka struck out three Blue Jays and walked one. Justin Wilson, in less than one inning, walked one and allowed two hits and a run.

David Carpenter earned the win after pitching 2 innings, allowing two hits, no runs and getting a strikeout.

Carlos Beltran broke his shin in spring training; the est. injury is "1-2 months" and his DL Time is "44 days." Garrett Jones and now-hero Chris Young will battle for the starting RF spot.

In game two, it'll be Michael Pineda vs. Mark Buehrle at Yankee Stadium in the first series of the season.

My GM goals are to reach the postseason every year and win the American League Pennant by the end of my contract (three years.)

Wow I have won 9 straight and 13 out of the last 14 games with the Indians to start the season. Have the best record in baseball at 16-4. The second best record is the Nationals at 16-6.

Gavin Floyd is #5 in rotation and just completed a CG against KC, allowing one run on two hits, 2bb and 5k. His record for the Month of April is now 4-0 3.06era 28k 10bb.

I use a manual injury system of my own and lost Aviles in ST until early May. And Trevor Bauer is out for at least a month right now. I have Samuel Hainey, 21 year old right hander from AAA in his spot. Moved him to #5 and Floyd up to #4 in rotation.

I created myself as a 22 year old SP A+ prospect now in AAA with a 74ovr. He has a 1-2 record 3.55era 27k 21bb. Has potential but can he live up to the hype?? Will be fun watching a little RTTS within my franchise. I will probably player lock him and pitch a game once or twice a month.

The Jays breaks the 9 game win streak and my April record is 16-5. 4 games up on Detroit.

Corey Kluber continued his poor performance in April. Gave up 5er on 10 hits but did accumulate 10k's. He is now 2-3 and an era close to 4 :/

As a team we are 15th in batting average at .259 and 16th in team era with a 3.57era.

Francona doing another great job. Got his player playing hard but stats show average team. It's actually hard to understand how I managed to with 13 of 14 lol. Goes to show you how great this game is!

I finally finished all the minor leagues and contracts yesterday and started playing with my Giants. Gary Brown is freaking going off this spring training! Forced me to trade Aoki to bolster the pen.

                  Started 3-1 and now I'm 3-4...

Pitched a gem with Gerrit Cole and blew it losing 2-1.

                  Having a blast playing though

                  Two glitches:

Hit a two run HR with my catcher at home in PNc and it only counted as a solo. The runner on first was still on first.

Same game Miguel hits HR #400 and does the game winning home run animation tossing the helmet and mugged at home by teammates.

Miggy I can live with. A two run HR counting as a solo...no

Gonna be doing a "Fantasy Season" that'll be live streamed with real commentary by me (I'm actually professional), problem is I don't know if it will be able to reach out to you guys since I can't post info about it anywhere besides in threads here or on my twitter. Just getting the word out on it, thanks for the time.

                    Here's the info.

                    Location

(Yeah I know not twitch, I personally like Hitbox better and has less trolls)

Draft will be Tomorrow at around 12 pm EST (I stress AROUND because I'm expecting someone to come to my house between 11-1, you know the drill on that i'd imagine)

First Live Game will be Tuesday with another Wednesday and Friday.
From there we will most likely go to a 2-3 times a week. So one week it'll be Monday,Wednesday,Friday and another will be Tuesday/Thursday.

Times will vary, I'd say the first game will be Tuesday at Noon EST and Wednesday probably will be the same. Friday we'll determine the time based on how we do the first couple of streams. Thanks again for reading and we'll see you on Monday.

Now, for what will be posted here. Of course general discussion, If their is any, general questions on specific players/prospects and where they ended up after the draft, FULL TEAM ROSTERS through google drive sharing (spreadsheets are the s***) as well as specific streamed games from that day's BOX SCORE and Week To Week stat updates on the weekends. I hope all of you who come and watch whether it's live or watching a condensed version on my YouTube channel will enjoy, suggestions are always welcome as well as destructive criticism aslong as it's fair criticism i.e Player pronunciations etc. So thanks again everyone, looking forward to it.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Started my franchise with Boston as I always do. First game went okay but I couldn't get a run across against Hamels (who I plan on trading for later if my pitching doesn't pan out) and lose 4-0. Second game Porcello was off and gave up a bunch of early runs. I ended up coming back three times and won 10-9. Napoli had a pinch hit HR to win it. Game three and Miley killed it. 7in 7K 1ER on 7 hits. Won 5-1. Got swept by the Yankees and lost by combined 4 runs. Tanaka had 14 Ks as I couldn't hit his damn change up. First game vs. Washington and Strasburg was on fire with his change up (I see a theme developing here) and I lost 3-2. So far for those not counting I'm 2-5 and in last place. Buckholtz is 0-2 with a 2.67 ERA so he needs run support. Miley is 1-1 with a 3.xx ERA and I am actually walking on offense and walking with my pitchers as well so that's a nice change of pace. Games take me awhile because I work the count and so does the computer but I'm enjoying it. I always start slow but then it makes August and September super fun because I'm usually like 4-5 games out and trying to make it up. I'll make a trade or two to strengthen my team and plan on calling up Swihart in a few games because Hannigan is no good as a starter. Decent backup though.
