Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

My Cubbies are about 20 over and have a 2 game lead over Milwaukee, and we're in the first week of August. I sim lots of games.

We just split 4 with the Brew-crew. I played all four hoping to really put them away, but after two blowouts, they came back with two great pitching performances to take games 3 and 4.

Rizzo is leading the race for MVP and leads the league in hitting and RBIs. He only has 2 homers in the last 2 weeks which has him 3rd in HR with 28.

My starting pitching is really pitching well, but not deep enough in games so no one has more than 10 wins right now. Lester is last in the rotation in wins with 6, but 2nd in ERA. Jason Hammel is 8-8 with a 2.5 ERA - a perfect example of my lack of offense early in games. Hector Rondon leads the league in saves with 37.

I made an early season trade for Chris Gentry (OAK if I remember correctly) which has added some much needed speed. In a somewhat eccentric move, I have him hitting 9th (OB% is not good enough for lead-off) behind Fowler and Javier Baez in the 2 spot.

With quite a few games against MIL left, the race should be interesting. They have really come on in July, and lead the wild card race.

I have no connection to the brewers but will start with them tonight. Need to do a complete rebuild.

        3.78 ERA (18TH)

        DL
JOSE ALTUVE FRACTURED ARM 1-2 MONTHS

I am have a lot of fun playing this game everything is realilstic for the most part. Expect for today I play a game and we had seven errors.. Losing Jose Altuve has really hurt me. I don't know what to do at the second base and lead off position now. I cant find the groove with the Astros top pitchers yet Mchugh and Keuchel. But I'm going good with Feldman and Hernandez, it's confusing. With Altuve out here's my line up now.

        CF JAKE MARISNICK
        RF GEORGE SPRINGER
        SS JED LOWRIE
        DH EVAN GATTIS
        3B LUIS VALBUENA
        1B CHRIS CARTER
        C JASON CASTRO
        LF COLBY RASMUS
        2B MARWIN GONZALEZ

        BENCH
        C HANK CONGER
        SS JONATHAN VILLA
        1B JON SINGLETON
        LF ROBBIE GROSSMAN

        PITCHING ROTATION
        DALLAS KEUCHEL
        SCOTT FELDMAN
        ASHER WOJCIECHSKI
        COLIN MCHUGH
        ROBERTO HERNANDEZ

        BULLPEN
        SAMUEL DEDUNO
        TONY SIPP
        JOE THATCHER
        WILL HARRIS
        PAT NESHEK
        CHAD QUALLS
        LUKE GREGERSON

My bullpen has been pretty solid for the most part the only think is is that we give up a lot of home runs. Tony Sipp and Joe Thatcher have done everything I've needed them to do. Will Harris has been incredible .87 ERA in 8 games, Pat Neshek has been filthy, and Luke Gregson is the Closer the Astros have been needing for years.
My lineup produces a lot of runs. Everyone on the roster contributes. I'm still trying to figure out what to do at second base, do I trade for someone? Contribute to use Marwin Gonzalez there? Or call someone up from the minors if so who? Any suggestions?

Through 12 games, I'm 8-4 with my Yankees Franchise. Alone in first in the AL East and up 1 game on the 7-5 O's. My offense has been terrible at best. Bottom of the league (25th place and below) in Hits, Batting Average, Home Runs, Strikeouts, Slugging Percentage, and Total Bases. But the important thing is that i'm getting enough pitching in the right moments. Some excellent bullpen work has kept my team afloat.

I'd give Mike Aviles and Gordon Beckham a look. Aviles if he's performing poorly and Jose Ramirez and Lindor are doing well.

I'm playing one franchise and playing with the Cubs and Indians. What I do is choose at the beginning of each month two games for each SP that I'll play. This gives me 10 games total to play each month per team. So I play a total of 20 games per month, a little over 100 total for a season.

Then playoffs I obviously play all games. Currently on April 17th in my franchise and moving along quickly! Will be posting update soon.

I pretty much always do two teams in one franchise. I generally play one game with each team, then sim three. That helps me move quickly while varying which starter I use.

                    April Schedule/Results
                    Spoiler

Once month down and we lead the division at 14-9. 1.5 games ahead of the Twins. Very streaky steam so far. Won our first 5 games. Lost 8 of the next 9. And now we have won 8 of the last 9.

Pitching has been damn good so far. 3rd in the league with a 2.80 ERA. 3rd with 4 shutouts. Yordano Ventura is 2-2 with a 2.02 ERA in 35 2/3 IP. Jeremy Guthrie is 3-1 with a 2.38 ERA in 30 1/3 IP. Jason Vargas is 2-1 with a 2.39 ERA in 26 1/3 IP. Edison Volquez 3-2 with a 2.73 ERa in 33 IP. And Danny Duffy is 2-1 with a 3.53 ERA in 35 2/3 IP. Greg Holland hasnt given up a run yet but has pitched in 6 games.

Hitting hasnt been all that great. Escobar leads the team in AVG at .310, Moustakas lead in runs with 12, Morales leads in HR with 4 and is hitting .155. Hosmer leads in RBI with 15.

Yohan Pino is 3-0 with a 0.81 ERA in 4 starts for AAA. Lane Adams is hitting .323 with 5 2B, a HR and 11 RBI.

No one is doing that well in AA.

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Just had the CRAZIEST game. Middle of May w/ the Braves playing a rubbermatch against the Brewers. Julio Teheran was pitching amazing (1 hit through 7) but then the seventh inning happened. I was up 5-0. The Brew Crew started a 2 out rally to tie up the game at 5-5. Fast forward to the 11th inning. I give up the go ahead run. Bottom of the 11th w/2 outs and a 3-2 count, I hit a pinch hit dinger with Kelly Johnson to tie it up. Okay so we go to the 12th. First pitch Ryan Braun hits a ball to straight away center and as Maybin attempts to rob it, it tips off his glove for a homer. So down 7-6 with nobody on, 2 outs, and a 3-2 count, what does Freddie Freeman do? Hits a KRod fastball into the ChopHouse. 450 feet. I hold them in the 13th and in the bottom half, Simmons leads off with a single. Then Berto Callaspo triples into the right center gap for a walkoff! This was the craziest experience I have every had in the show!

I started a franchise with my PHILLIES!!! I'm doing just as bad as they are in real life lol. My record is currently 2-5 and i'm down by 5 runs vs the Mets right now. I was killing the ball in RTTS, so my hitting difficulty jumped up to LEGEND and now I am struggling big time... My pitching is on ALL STAR (I believe). Getting rocked... hopefully the PHILS and I can turn it around

I'm now at 10-5 in my 'chise. Hitting the ball very well in my past few games. Just last night I hung 11 on the Tigers, though my pitching did give up 8 runs in a messy win. Today, I'll go for 3 out of 4 against the Detroit. The Orioles are still on my tail though. Just one game behind me in the standings.

So losing Carlos Gomez was hard but Lucory too painful to say the least.
But Maldonado hit a walk off in the first game starting. Traded for George Kottaras for back up but have lost 4 of 5.

Were those injuries during games played or simmed? What is your injury slider set at? I always have a hard time getting injuries in game but too many durin simulated games. Always end up manually injuring players at random with a simple system I created. But am curious what you are seeing
