Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

I am the GM of the Indians and we are nearly to September.

Started the season with what seemed like a serendipitous signing of Cliff Lee. We had enough cap space and wanted him back with the Tribe to make our rotation all the more intimidating... and get us a lefty.

It was a terrible idea. He went through the first half of 2015 with an ERA of 3.89 which wasn't awful considering it seemed like he lost every game he pitched by giving up a home run in the 5th or 6th inning.

We have been playing small ball all year as our HR leader is Abraham Almonte... with 17. Yeah, it's not exactly a slugfest for us.

We were around 38-50 at the All Star Break and ended up making some moves in hopes of trying to at least get to .500 but mostly get players for the next couple years.

Traded 3B, Chris Johnson to the Twins for RF, Torii Hunter which was in an effort to move Chisenhall to 3B as he was awful in RF. It was a great defensive move, but Hunter is 39 and we don't plan on keeping him after this year.

In regards to our future in RF we made a trade with the Blue Jays who were and are leading the AL East. We traded Cliff Lee and a B potential minor league pitcher for RF, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and SP, Jon Harris.

After the All Star Break (SS, Francisco Lindor was our only ASG player) we started to pick it up a bit. Our pitching has been great all year but with our weak bats we haven't provided much run support. While Kluber, Salazar and Carrasco combined for nearly 550 strikeouts, only Carrasco has a winning record at 11-8 so far.

That brings us to August where we started to look like a team that has been battle tested. Clutch hitting has been our game all season and Cody Allen is nearing 40 saves as he just got #39 last night.

We have rolled to a 10-game winning streak and are currently 65-63. That brings us to 11 games back from Detroit for the division and 5 GB from the wild card which we are competing for against the Yanks and Royals.

We have 34 or so games remaining and will have to keep up our winning ways if we want to even sniff the playoffs.

Wish us luck... it's going to get exciting. Not to mention it might bring me right up to MLB 16 at this rate too!

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

I'm currently in Season 4 with the Chicago Cubs. I had originally decided to get to the end of Season 3 and wait until '16 to continue with it but that went out of the window and i have just got to the end of the All Star break.

I have had 3 great regular seasons but fell at the NLDS every season.
      2015 - 91-71 (Wild Card)
      2016 - 104-58 (Won Division)
      2017 - 99-63 (Wild Card)

      Pitching
Sonny Gray (Trade w/ Oak 2016 In Season)
Chris Archer (Trade w/ TB 2015 Off Season)
      Corey Luebke (FA)
      Jarrod Parker (FA)
Kyle Crick (Trade w/ Min 2016 In Season)

Ian Kennedy (Trade w/ SD 2015 Off Season)
      Daniel Hudson (FA)
Roberto Osuna (Trade w/ TOR 2017 Off Season)
      Brett Cecil (FA)
      Neil Ramirez
      Hector Rondon
Miguel Castro (Trade w/ TOR 2017 Off Season)

      Line Up
      Javier Baez
      Addison Russell
      Anthony Rizzo
      Kris Bryant
Andrew McCutchen (FA 2017 Off Season - Terrible decision! $23m 5 Years)
      Jorge Soler
      Kyle Schwarber
      Odubel Herrera (FA)

Brock Holt (Trade w/ BOS 2018 In Season)
Steven Souza Jr (Trade w/ TB 2015 Off Season)
      William Raines (FA)
Taylor Lindsey (Trade w/ SD 2015 Off Season)
Andrew Susac (Trade w/ SF 2015 Off Season)

I've had a constant turnover with my pitching staff with players under performing or coming up for renewal and wanting too much money. I've tried to keep my core line up as intact as possible but come the end of this season that will more than likely change with a lot of the young guys due a huge payday.
Rizzo is due his first FA eligible payday - Projected $28.1m a year
Baez is up for his first year of Arbitration
Russell is up for his second year of Arbitration after $4.1m this season

I'm currently sat at 42-46, third place in the division after another year of awful bullpen play and questionable starters.
I've had insane production from Rizzo and Bryant through the entire thing so far but the rest of the line up have struggled to hit for a good average with strike outs being a major issue.

      Rizzo
      2015 - .286/47/106
      2016 - .281/39/108
      2017 - .294/40/118

      Bryant
      2015 - .255/36/93
      2016 - .298/40/112
      2017 - .261/43/107
      Chicago Cubs Franchise - 2019 (1-0)

      Houston Astros Simming Franchise (52-37)

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

Have to share because this game owns my soul currently... We have continued the streak and broke the team record for consecutive wins (13).

#13 was one for the ages as far as I'm concerned.

Winning by two runs in the Top of of the 9th we figured the Angels were done... in comes Closer, Cody Allen who proceeds to give up two runs before finally getting the last out. We are at the bottom of the order with 8, 9 and 1 (Lindor) coming up.

8 and 9 both ground out and I'm trying to figure out who I'm gonna pitch in the 10th... then Lindor grounds up the middle for a single. Up comes Torii Hunter and on the first pitch I send Lindor, strike... and safe at second.

I send him again... strike two swinging, safe at third.

I then send him again and... lay down a bunt!?... The most perfect down the line bunt I've ever seen. Lindor is going to make it - but Hunter is old and slower.

The 3rd baseman charges to barehand it...and misses! Indians win!

We have since beaten the AL leading Blue Jays twice and will face Cliff Lee (whom we traded at the deadline) to finish the series in Toronto.

        Here's to #16!

I sim the regular season and play all elimination games in postseason. I enjoy building teams and love the feel of 1 loss and I'm done for the year. I play with Cubs using OSFM rosters and won WS in 2016, 2021. The one complaint I really have is my SP had 40 Complete games while my whole staff had entire year of 2.52 ERA. Pitching just dominates the game farther along you get in franchise. Hitters are always underachieving while pitchers overachieve. Cant find a team with worse then 86 as their #5. Then hitters its basically C potential for most teams. Really have to look hard to find hitters and usually and really good hitters cant field a damn ball. Hopefully that's fixed in 16

Re: MLB 15 Franchise Progress Thread

We finished the 2015 season and ended up missing the playoffs by one game.

The streak ended at 18 games and we went 17-13 to finish the season. The Tigers had our number... as did the eventual Champs - Kansas City.

On a better note, Salazar won the Cy Young award and Cody Allen win Delivery Man of the Year with 54 saves.

We are going to make a point of keeping most of the rotation intact and maybe shopping around Bauer, Santana and a couple others as we desperately need a legitimate power threat. We were 27th in Runs and the offense ranked 22nd overall. Our pitching was amazing (minus a few bad streaks).

Hoping to make a move for Ozuna or another relatively young power threat.

Our prospects had a great year as Vlad Guerrero Jr. blew up in the last few weeks and will get an invite to Spring Training in hopes of getting the RF or CF slot.

Annoyed we missed the playoffs, but I think we have a great foundation for the years to come.

Did they announce whether or not all the new stat tracking will carry over from transferred franchises in MLB 16? I'm getting towards the end of 2017 in a franchise I started in MLB 14 and reaching a critical point where my drafted prospects are starting to get close to the majors.

I don't think I'll be getting 16 the Show at release so I just started a new franchise on 15.

The concept: "dynasty mode:" I take the defending champion and try to keep them successful. For MLB 15, that means I started a franchise with the San Francisco Giants. I used OSFM Opening Day rosters. I'll post an update later but so far we're into June (simmed) and in first place by three games.

Working my way through the 2019 season with the Cincinnati Reds after being fired with the Blue Jays despite making it to the World Series in 2 of the 3 years. Made a bunch of trades and what not to build a competitive roster, including trading away almost all of my B and A potential prospects. Just passed the trade deadline and the roster shapes up as follows:

                  Lineup
                  1. LF Ben Revere
                  2. 2B Jose Perazaz
                  3. RF Charlie Blackmon
                  4. 3B Miguel Sano
                  5. 1B Todd Frazier
                  6. C Jonathan Lucroy
                  7. SS Andrelton Simmons
                  8. Pitcher's spot
                  9. CF Billy Hamilton

                  Rotation
                  1. Clayton Kershaw
                  2. Matt Harvey
                  3. Carlos Rodon
                  4. Robert Stephenson
                  5. Tony Cingrani

                  Bullpen
                  LRP - Jonathon Crawford
                  MRP - Aaron Crow
                  MRP - Donovan Hand
                  MRP - Bruce Rondon
                  SU - Kelvin Herrera
                  SU - Luke Gregerson
                  CP - Trevor Rosenthal

Currently sitting 8.0 games back of first place in the National League Central, but moving up at a good pace following all the trade deadline superstar acquisitions. The NL Wild Card is within reach, as the Reds sit just 4.0 games out of the second wild card spot.

From my understanding of watching the Fact Sheet streams. As long you are playing on the PS4 your carry over save from 15' to 16' will be included. Stat tracking, brand licensed equipment and sounds of show.

I think the only thing might occur is the disappearing of some MLB players who might have not played at all in the real MLB 2015 season.

This is what has me scratching my head and giving me reservations of playing a solo franchise (vs a 30 team). This should not happen if your doing a great job. I don't get it. I hope this was tuned for 16. I have been doing 30 team control since MLB 11 but am really itching to let it go and let the chips fall where they may as my hope is the AI does have vastly improved logic and we have a trade slider now too (which I will test before starting a Franchise).

Also really heavily considering a fantasy draft once OSFM drops.

BTW your rotation is down right nasty man.

I wish there were also sliders to regulate simulated stats. It seems to me that batting averages were very low in my first season with the Indians. I've heard people saying that it only gets worse as seasons progress.

I'm trying to remain sim in my current franchise but I'm also a bit annoyed at how pathetic my power hitting game is. I don't want to manually add power to some players, but having my team leader only hit 19 HRS for the season was a but of a drag.

Was using a slider set from here.... maybe that was the issue. But it also still doesn't fix the stats of other players through the season.
