Is batting harder or is it just me?

Does anybody feel like hitting is more difficult this year?

I carried my MLB 14 RTTS save across yesterday and continued on from roughly halfway through my first full season as an MLB starting SS for the Mariners. My overall has grown enormously this season, from 76 or something to 89 and I'd previously been playing with TNK's 2014 sliders. My batting average was bouncing around between .280 and .295 for the month or so before MLB 15 came out, which seemed to be a direct result of the fact that I'd hit my skill ceiling and Dynamic difficulty was ebbing back and forth between All-Star and All-Star plus. I should mention I use zone hitting too.

Continuing on from my save on MLB 15 my average is down to .266 and apart from a six game streak last night I've been totally inconsistent and at times embarrassingly bad.

I really don't want to put the difficulty down, and I really enjoyed the balance I found last year! But I'm struggling.

I've been pretty awful at batting this year, but I think some of it comes naturally with getting accustomed to the new game. For instance, I'm waaaay out in front of change-ups now. Can't explain it, they just look different coming across the plate.

Can you clarify "bad at batting"?

What I mean is are you

      A - Striking out frequently
      or
B - Hitting it but hitting directly into outs
      or
      C - Both

I've been experiencing a lot of accidental check swings. It's getting to the point I'm going to revert back to button hitting. Not sure if my form with the analog stick is bad or something...I've been using analog hitting since it was introduced in the show so not sure what's going on...

This. While I agree, it does take some time to get accumulated to a new game, I've found this year's version to be one of the most challenging offensively since 12, which coincidentally is also the last time I struggled drastically with off speed pitches. I've tinkered with pitch speed and other sliders (this years game is going to be slider hell for me), and offensively I'm just not there like I was the previous two years.

I play on HOF pitching and zone, and while my pitching is there, hitting is completely gone. I always felt like I had a chance at the plate the last two years on HOF, but this year not so much.

Yeah I think so last year I could hit doubles alot easier. Also changeups have owned me so far.

I've had a tremendous amount of difficulty with batting, but I appreciate the challenge.

Tonight, I'm going to attack the batting practice mode and try to determine which control scheme / hitting mode suits me the best.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm sitting on Rookie difficulty (zone hitting) at the moment. The change-up has upped the challenge this year.

the fact that the removed the stride before the swing as really thrown off my timing. I've yet to hit a home run, use to crush the ball last year.
I guess I just gotta get use to it

2 games into my season as the Red Sox and I have lost both games 8-0. haha. I have 6 singles plus 3 doubles in both games. I skipped 14 so I am hoping in time I get better.

I've actually found it to be the opposite. I've played 6 games on 15 (my franchise carried over from 14, same settings) and I'm mashing the ball.

I had to change my camera when hitting, but now I'm hitting good.

I feel like it's much easier. My biggest beef with the games in the past was hitting systems. Directional hitting has made batting more fun and easier. I can finally hit high pitches!!

I have completely bounced around. Either really good or abysmal.

Its best exemplified in a two game stretch I just had where I took Mat Latos and the Marlins for 23 hits and 14 runs, and then was no hit by Jared Cosart in the very next game (didn't change settings or sliders).

For me it's feast or famine , one thing at least to me it looks like the pitches move more after the ball is pitched making timing an adventure at times.
