I also will note when it comes to late inning appearances on HOF level if I allow a few base runners I will always make a mound visit it as confidence levels can really bounce around. Or you could try HOF with pitcher confidence off. (I think you can turn it off. ) I haven't tried.

I don't know. I haven't tried. I've been tempted to but haven't pulled the trigger.

The catcher missing a perfect strike has really hurt this game. I see almost once a game now.
I play with quick counts and it always happens (for me anyway) when their is two strikes. Myself or the CPU will throw a pitch down the middle of the plate and the catcher will not attempt to catch the ball. It will hit the catcher off the chest and go to the backstop, off the mask and go to the backstop. All the time it results in a strike three, but still the runner gets to first.
Now, the real crazy things is I swear when I am hitting I will foul off a ball right down the middle and even watch the replay and it looks like a foul tip, but no, they call it a pass ball and my guy runs to first base. You can actually see the ball make a move upwards over the catchers shoulder. However, the catcher never moves his glove to attempt to make a catch at the pitch.Whitesox 2005 Champs!Comment

That and the superhuman reflexes and perfect routes by the AI (and sometimes human catchers) are semi-annoying issues from that side of the gameComment

I actually hit a hard ground ball with Ellsbury this evening. The third basemen caught it on a bounce but held it without throwing to first and Ellsbury was safe at first on the E5. It looked as though the third basemen thought he had caught it on the fly and didn't know what to do.Comment

In reading through this thread, I've had a question occur to me regarding the comeback issue. There's a setting that allows the catcher to call for pitch type and location. How often do folks use it? I've never had a comeback issue, and that setting is turned on for me, because I do have a pitching pattern if it isn't.Comment

My strategy involves following what the catcher calls about 99% of the time until about the 5th or 6th inning, Then i only follow the catcher about 75% of the time, In the later innings especially when you have 2 strikes on a player and the catcher keeps telling you to throw fastball after fastball, Dont do it, Throw the exact opposite as what the catcher wants, This leads to more strikeouts and less late inning rallies imo. Its a mater of actually remembering to do it, lol.Comment

- Meter Randomness - I love the meter, but the randomness of where the pitch lands is frustrating. I can miss the meter high or low and the location where the pitch goes is completely random. If you miss the meter low, the pitch should go low.
I agree with this. If a person wants randomness then use classic pitching. Meter pitching should be about user control, lord knows there is already to little of this as it is."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Edit --
Not the game I talked about above, but I think this video shows a lot about adjusting as a ball game goes on. The A's had 13 hits up to that point, but were shut down in the last 2 innings:

Edit 2 --
Just for conversation, here is the top of the previous inning, where the A's took a 1-run lead. The pitch out at 3:35 was because I was anticipating a squeeze play:

Ok, last edit --
Here is the 6th inning of this game. We were being 2-hit to this point, and were actually down 5-0. The E7 was a loss of focus on my part, my first move wasn't back and I mashed the stick to make up for it and went too far back. The play to Altuve was scored a hit, which is debatable. I was able to adjust, and the CPU couldn't take advantage. Overall, just a lot of good (and arguably, not-so-good) things about the game happened in this inning, presentation, gameplay and chess match-wise:

Re: With all they've tweaked with gameplay, there's still so much more they didn't...
When I play(not manage) games...I usually player lock as a pitcher or pitch and sim the half innings.
I'm more than adequate at pitching(:o) and usually go on HOF or Legend.
While I use the catcher suggestions....I find that they don't call for enough pitches out of the zone...especially on 0-2 or 1-2 counts and even moreso following a pitch that brought me to 0-2 or 1-2 on a swinging strike on the corners.
So I will take the pitch and location suggestion...but move it even further out of the zone.

the shattered bats are comical in this game, its like Dynamite is strapped to the bat and shrapnel everywhere. even better is the fielders remaining calm as the wooden stake comes hurtling end over end towards their eyeballs.
love the game but a little tweak to this would be much appreciated. mix in some less pronounced broken bat animationsPSN: PrettyToneyComment
