I finally decided that HOF is just too hard so I went down to AS and am having a blast.

Scoring runs, getting walks, I feel like when the CPU makes runs...it's because I get in a hurry and want to finish the inning rather than think of what the AI would be looking to hit. Thoroughly enjoying the game.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I think on wild pitches its the stupid "catcher completely misses it" scenario which is way too prevalent.

It's far from perfect even with it off.
        Interesting.

Honestly, it's pretty bad. Borderline pitches constantly go both ways. If it's perfect those pitches should be consistent but they're not.

Yeah the variable umps being off hasn't worked for years imo.

The description says they will call the game perfectly but no, it's not even close.

Unless there's a bug with how the strike zone box is displayed, I've seen pitches CLEARLY inside the box down in the zone (not even close where "half the ball" is in the box") and called a ball.

Even the commentary thinks it was low if I swung and miss on it. So it could be a bug with the pitch dots (maybe they render too high on low pitches).

I keep that setting off, yet the game still acts as though it's on in terms of the calls (but not the commentary).

              MLB14, it worked well, imo.

I just finally got my franchise started yesterday, only played the first three game series, and I've already seen this more than I care too. Had a run scored on me because of this.

The worst was during game 2, warming up a new pitcher and a just a simple fastball straight down the middle, it bounces off the side of the catcher's glove (who didn't even bother making an attempt to move his glove to catch it) and goes ricocheting off into the stands. Facepalm.

A perfect down the middle fastball toss in warmups, not even anywhere near max speed, and it just bounces off the mitt and ricochets into the stands. Yeah, that makes sense. Any catcher did that crap in real life, and they'd get pulled from the game right then and there.

I've had some borderline calls go the wrong way with variable umps off, but I haven't seen anything too egregious. It's been pretty accurate for the most part for me.
