With that said, I am in shock that you're getting that with auto-fielding, as I've always assumed that auto-fielding would be more advantageous than manual.

Which leads me to my next point. Most of the guys (including me) that have issues like this play on HOF or higher. I think a majority that play on lesser levels want to just label these issues as happenstance or baseball being baseball, but that's video evidence that some things just aren't right on HOF.

I feel like you would not see any of that stuff if you were on All-Star with auto fielding.

This is what I've been saying from the beginning, albeit in a more derogatory fashion. I've played on both levels now and you simply don't see these things on difficulties less than hall of fame. They generally only happen on HOF or higher and that's what leads me to believe there's something not right with the higher difficulties.

The thing is I play on Default Hall of Fame and don't near the issues that others see. With hitting, comeback AI, wonky AI, or anything of the sorts.

I've played over 200 games thus far, actual games, and not once have I felt that there is something amiss about the game, the difficulty level, or the AI. I've never felt cheated or that things were happening just to happen.

Difficulty level (as the only factor) has nothing to do with these examples though. Difficulty only determines the fundamentally soundness of the CPU, as well as the expected soundness of the user. It doesn't make things happen, to even the playing field, either way.

That's why I think it has more to do with auto fielding. sj1885, I assume you're using manual throws?

you had an error happen at an inopportune time. It happens

            - the ole on another easy grounder (again, how did I blow this?)

            it happens unfortunately

            - the fact that I played my corners in to defend the suicide squeeze play and still couldn't

corners in don't guarantee that the suicide cannot be executed. Pitch selection plays a part in this as well. Where was the pitch?

            - the fact that Stephen Pearce actually laid down a suicide squeeze in that situation.

don't know his ratings so can't comment

            - the fact that I already pitched out to defend against the squeeze and the computer just happened to know when I was doing it and conveniently decided to do the suicide squeeze in the second pitch.

teams will often wait until the 2nd or 3rd pitch before doing the suicide squeeze to prevent from being caught on a pitch out.
Nothing about these plays has any semblance of realism. The fact that you guys blindly defend this is very frustrating.
I don't see anything about any of that that doesn't resemble realism. It happens. Thing is you could've gotten out of the situation. Hard to tell from your camera selection where pitches are, but each appear to be up and out over the plate.

Nobody is blindly defending the game. Do games like this happen? Yes, but to account it backhanded AI or cheating AI is ridiculous in my opinion. Perhaps its because after all the games I've played, these types of games are few and far between for both myself and the cpu.

What it really boils down to is people just aren't very good at this game on higher difficulty levels. They somehow try to justify that they are an "expert" by coming up with "issues" rather than looking in the mirror and accepting the fact that they aren't very good at this game when things don't go their way.

I'm in the same boat as you. I rarely see these things people are seeing and don't get me wrong I am sure it happens, but it isn't nearly as "frequent or rampant" as some make it out to be. I don't use auto fielding or base running so that may be why I don't see things others do so who knows? I still make plenty of mistakes myself. I get the frustration factor with this game (it's always been this way and I personally like how challenging the Show has been over the years), but it's mostly brought on by the user.

It's only logical that the CPU gets some sort of boost on the higher levels, otherwise what's the difference between Legend and Rookie?

I think some people are just better at the game, and thus don't have issues with the CPU chaining together hits in the late innings or hitting pop-ups with RISP, etc. Others aren't as good, and I say this as someone who plays on Veteran, and thus those issues become magnified on the higher levels for them.

My thoughts as well. I think sometimes people don't want believe that something bad happened to them at an inopportune time and instead of chalking it up to a bad break or game, they chalk it up to cheating AI.

There are 162 games in the season. Your bound to have a bad break or two over the course of it.

Regarding dd.... Is there any way to freeze the difficulty level in place? I find veteran too easy on batting but all star too hard.... I want to get to a level in between the two but I can't get it to stick at that level... I thought by putting the dd sensitivity slider at zero it would freeze it at the current level but no it kept going back to veteran

That's strange. Are you sure you saved it at 0 and loaded the sliders before you played? I have had mine at 0 for months now and my difficulty hasn't changed a bit.

But how are you sure of that? I'm going by what my eyes tell me. I never see this stuff on All-Star. I don't play All-Star because I find it too easy because these things don't happen at the rate they do on HOF. I find HOF to be easy too, but because of these issues (Tighter Inconsistent zones, simple errors, animation issues...all things out of control by the user) I lose games. I've chosen to accept these things because it keeps my record realistic, even if it's accomplished in a unfair manner.

My issue is HOF and above should be more challenging in terms of the CPU vs User battle (Pitching,Batting,Fielding), and not with the inclusion of head scratching gameplay sequences.

I have got to what I thought was the midway point during the game with slider all the way to the right.... Then at the start if the at bat moved it to 0. Then next innings it came up as veteran again not veteran ++. I checked my sliders and the sensitivity was at zero....
