Re: Official MLB 16 : Road to the Show Thread

Created a CF patterned after Mike Trout, just to see how the new outfield cameras are in in 16. Could never be able to track down flyballs efficiently in 15. Liking it so far.

Was originally drafted by Tampa Bay, but didn't want to play there so went back to school for one year. Was drafted by Oakland. (Gawd I hope I can get traded before I have to play home games at O.co)

Played a half a dozen games and they've got me playing DH, so I can't even get the hang of playing in the outfield yet......
    Make #FranchiseNation great again!

This thing called Twitter I do sometimes

    What's your thoughts? It's a game.

Been away from The Show for years, but no baseball on Xbox finally allowed me to convince the wife I "needed" a PS4. I used to love RTTS, and even played the heck out of career in 2k on Xbox.

I wasn't sure if I'd remembered wrong, or confused RTTS with 2k, but there are NO goals, no manager/coach interactions like hit and run assignments, bunt, etc. I haven't seen anything telling me to play deep/left/right/shallow as CF, and I dont even KNOW what "challenge options" are. Can someone please help a noob out and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

I don't know what challenge options are either. But there are no more goals or hit and run calls like in the past. They were dusted a few years ago, which to me is a bit of a bummer. I thought the goals back then were not realistic and needing revamping a lot, but it's sad that they are just gone. My belief is your player should have goals, but they should be seasonal ones that go into contract incentives like 30+ HR, 100+ RBI, etc. Not, get 8 RBI over the next 10 games like we used to get.

You will get instruction to play deep or shallow, it's rare though.

I haven't played the show since '11 was an xbox. I loved RTTS so this year I bought a Ps4 and decided to go with a SP got drafted by the Angels & a LF drafted by Seattle.

Well that explains it. It has been a few years. Yeah, sucks not having those goals. Was pretty fun laying down a good bunt or executing a hit and run to perfection, etc. (I know I can still bunt, but hit and run is no longer an option i guess, since you cant control whether runner breaks or not) And if the instruction is rare, then I guess I just haven't gotten it yet. Thanks for the quick reply. At least I know I'm not [THAT] crazy!

I started a 3B. Loved new scouting aspect of it. I was 1st RD pick of LAA. I don't play minors. I sim until I reach MLB. 2018 I got the call in AUG cause of injury. Played most of month and struggled. Was hitting in low .200. Got sent down for week then called back up 1st week of September. Played better and got AVG up to .240. Helped team make WC game but cause I wasn't on 25 man roster September 1st I out of playoffs. Off season for LAA was exciting though. They got Harper and Machado! I now was backup to Machado so I had to learn how to play other IF positions. Made team out of ST ad UTI. I am playing 4 out of 6 days all over IF. After 1 week I did get my position changed to 2B. After 1st month I'm hitting .340+ with 4 HR. I'm assuming soon I be everyday 2B but can't complain playing 4 days a week.

Started a SS, Paul Christopher #16, played showcase got drafted 5th round by Brewers, started off hot in AA batting .373 in 35 games before getting called up to triple- A, broke my forearm sliding head first into homeplate then got off to a slow start batting .207 in 15 games before the Brewers traded their starting shortstop and called me up, now in my 2nd game having more struggles only 1 hit in 10 at bats, Im starting to stream every game and will be posting some updates, also using Mike Lowe sliders

I have no problems starting a new RTTS, but I am not carrying my save from 15 over until a patch comes out.

My guy, molded after miggy, as I stated earlier got drafted my Cleveland in the first. Played roughly around 50-60 games in AA with an average pushing .450, 16 HRs and around 35 RBIs playing with the Rubberducks(kinda name is that anyway) got called. up to AAA. First game I went 3-5, HR, 2B, 2RBIs

I know man, I live in the area and go to their games all the time. They used to be the Aeros. A new owner bought the Aeros a couple of years ago and said right off the bat he was going to re-brand them. Believe me, when we heard the new name it was a big, collective WTF. But I still go to the games because, well, I love baseball.

Not sure about the ball trail, but I'm pretty sure the Dynamic Difficulty is bugged because a lot of people, myself included, have seen the same thing. It may be relegated to a RTTS issue because it seems to be RTTS players mentioning it, but I'm not sure.

So the age and nationality stuff from carrying a save over is still an issue? Have they mentioned when this would be fixed? I've been out of the loop last few days.

I'm waiting to start season 2024. Started my RTTS in MLB 14.

Absolutely, great sound, but every hit sounds the same whether a dribbler or a screaming line drive. In '15 when you really tagged one you could almost feel it.

I'm currently playing a third baseman (with second base and shortstop as secondary positions) named D.J. Reynolds. I didn't model him after anybody, but I tried to keep him around the same height and weight I am. After the scout day and showcase games, Reynolds was drafted 11th in the first round by the Seattle Mariners. I am currently working him through AA and as of May 24th, 2016, here are his stats:

                              .385/.450/.700 7 HR 24 RBI 7 for 8 on SB chances

Started a new RTTS as a SS modeled after Tulo on release day. I'm having a blast not only hitting and but fielding. Here are my combined AA and AAA stats through mid-May 2017.

                                123 games:
