Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Finally got to start a franchise with the Astros with OFSM coming out and in the first inning against the Yankees Keuchel gets hit with a come backer and has to be out the rest of the Game so I put in Feliz and he gives up 4 in the second thanks to a Gomez error. Tanka was tough, didn't get a hit off him till Jason Castro of all people take him deep. After that things fell apart for me losing 8-2 with the other run coming off of a marwin Gonzalez homer.

Started a Nats and BoSox franchises with OSFM. Not sure how much updating I'll do since my 2021 Marlins will still be the main one I play the most.

But maybe I'll do more simming in those or something. Not sure I can play all games of 3 ML franchises in anything resembling a timely manner lol

Just played opening day after restarting with the rosters. Bottom of 12 in a 0-0 game against the Nationals Drew Stubbs hits a line drive that literally goes inches under a diving Bryce Harper ( who went 0-5 on the day with 3 strikeouts) to drive in the winning run from 2nd. Hell of an opening day game. It was so intense having to fight off Harper, Zimmerman, and Worth in the 9th and 12th innings using my horrible bullpen! Teheran and Scherzer both went 8 full innings. Teheran finished with 11k and Scherzer had 9.

Lost 5-2 to the Cubs. We out hit them 10-8 but we left 10 men on base and 6 in scoring position. Just one of those nights.

Didn't help that Leake gave up 3 bombs and 5 runs in 4 innings. At least he settled down after the 4th and was able to pitch 6 innings.

Started my Brewers franchise and played the first game against the Giants. We had to face Bumgarner and he was on in the beginning. The game was tied 1-1 in the 8th and Carter was finally able to get to Bumgarner and hit a homer that would be the game winner since we were able to shut down the Giants 1, 2, 3 in the 9th.

I don't know that much about other teams farm systems but I at least thought the Brewers had a decent farm system. Doesn't even look like there's good prospects coming up for us in a few years besides just 1 or 2. If the team is out of the playoff race come trade deadline I think I will try and move some big names to try and get some good players that could play next year.

Well let the conspiracy theories begin.

Tim Anderson may have broken his arm just diving back to the bag on a pitch out.

Chris Taylor will get the call.

Did Taylor have something to do with it? Is there some sort of "agreement" between them. Hard to believe he could break his arm just getting back like that, but injuries are strange sometimes.

In any case, Taylor will get the chance in the rest of the game.

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Just started my Washington Nationals franchise. I think they're an interesting team because they're aging and don't have a great farm system. So basically I have a window of 2 or maybe 3 years to win something before the rebuild is going to have to start.

First game: in Atlanta. 3-2 Nationals in 10. Exact same score and innings as in real life! Crazy!

First inning Drew Stubbs doubled for Atlanta and then two batters later Kelly Johnson doubled him in.
Third inning Ben Revere put us on the board with a sac fly that scored Wilson Ramos
Top Seventh inning Bryce Harper grounds out with the bases loaded and two outs
Bottom Seventh inning AJ Pierzynski barely gets a moonshot out of the yard
Eighth inning, first pitch Ryan Zimmerman lines one off the top of the wall and out for a homer
Bottom Ninth inning Trevot Gott strikes out Eric Aybar with the bases loaded and two outs
Tenth inning Bryce Harper singles and scores on a double to dead center from Jayson Werth

Baseball: Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates
                Basketball: Chicago Bulls
                Football: Chicago Bears
                Hockey: Chicago Blackhawks
                College Sports: University of Oregon

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

The Marlins held on for a 6-3 win against the Braves to split the series and start August with a win. Davis hit 2 HR to go to 30 on the season. His bat heating up would be great down the stretch.

The team got word about Tim Anderson, and he did indeed break his arm. An MRI confirmed the break and he is expected to miss up to 3 months as a result. He will be placed on the DL.

Versatile veteran Eric Young, Jr. will be called up to replace Anderson.

                    Hi Guys,

Need some help with who to choose for my franchise this year. I went with the phillies last year but want to start fresh this year with another team.

I can't choose who to go with and need help from some of you experts on best ways to choose. I don't really follow a team closely so no bias there. Any tips on choosing?

With OSFM dropping yesterday, got a few games in with my Tribe franchise.

Started off with our home opener putting a hurting on David Price and the Red Sox. Lindor, Napoli, and Byrd each homered in a 9-2 opening day victory. We ended up taking 2 out of 3 from the Red Sox.

After the opening home stand, we headed west to Chicago to take on the White Sox. Our bats were silenced as we took 2 losses in the series to John Danks and Jose Quintana, bringing our record to 3-3 so far.

So far, the lineup is very streaky with Lindor, Brantley, and Byrd swinging hot bats, while Kipnis, Santana, Uribe, and Nap haven't hit well since the home opener.

Getting ready to take on Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg then head home for a 3 game interleague battle with the Mets.

I guess there is nowhere to go but up. I never have been a Milwaukee fan but I chose them in franchise because they represent a challenge and I like the division opponents.

Opening game vs the Giants I'm winning by one run, two on, two out, ninth inning. Giants hitter hits an easy fly ball to right field - my right fielder drops the ball, tying run scores, I lose the game in extra innings.

I started my Brewers OSFM last night. Even though I have Scooter Gennett, I decided to pick up the Jose Fernandez 2B on the FA list. I edited his secondary POS to IF. So i could play him at 3rd base. That's been working out pretty well. I play 1 game of every series and right now we are off to a hot start at 8-7.

Even though We are off to a good start, I am still in rebuild mode, I know IRL Lucroy is probably getting traded and personally even though Braun is raking. I am looking to move him, so I can get a pretty big haul for him.

I also picked up Jose Fernandez. Can he play multiple positions in real life or has he just been a 2B??

I'll make this short & sweet.

I lost the opener to the Yankees 4-0. Tanaka shut me down on 140 pitches, I REPEAT 140 pitches. How is that possible? Using TNK sliders also.
