Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Our losing streak stands at 9 games. This is frustrating. We simply keep finding ways to lose a ball game, bad starting pitching, bad bullpen, blown save, no hits with runners in scoring position, no runs, errors, or whatever.

Our divisional lead is still 2 games over the Pirates as they are losing as well. The Cubs however, have now won 12 straight and have pulled with 4 games of the division lead and a game or game and a half of the Pirates for the 2nd wildcard.

We still have 6 games left with the Pirates and 3 with the Cubs. Things are about to get very interesting.

Right now, I just want a win.

And the losing streak is now at 10!

This is beyond frustrating. For the 2nd straight game and 4th time during this losing streak we were shut out. And again, our starting pitcher (Lance Lynn today) can't get thru 5 innings as he gave up 7 hits, 6 runs, and 3 homers. Only bright spot was our bullpen pitched well.

Our lead is now 1 game over the Pirates who defeated the Cubs. Next up on the schedule? 3 games at PNC Park vs the Pirates. Big big series.

      Remaining schedule:

      3 @ Pirates
      3 @ Cubs
      4 @ Brewers
      3 vs Pirates

That's right, 10 of our last 13 games are on the road.

At least we now have a full 40 man roster. Maybe we can find some guys that actually want to win a ball game.

The losing streak is now 11 games and we are now tied with the Pirates atop the Central Division. We are 3 games ahead of the Cubs for the division/2nd wildcard spot.

This is insane. We simply are not hitting and I'm sick of it.

Next up is Michael Wacha vs Gerritt Cole. We are starting nothing but minor league players outside of Thole and Wacha. See if these guys want to win.

FINALLY!!!! THE STREAK IS OVER!!! We beat the Pirates 5-2 to end this nightmare and regain a one game lead in the division. With the Cubs loss, we are up 4 games on them.

I didn't follow through on my threat to start minor leaguers but they were in the lineup as Patrick Wisdom started at 3rd Base while Carpenter played first. After Wisdom hurt himself on a jump throw, we put Chris Jacobs in at first and moved Carpenter to third.

Michael Wacha was good as he went 7 strong, striking out 8 and giving up 2 runs on a Jung Ho Kang two run homer. Once again bullpen shut the door.

Series finale next with Madison Bumgarner going against Tyler Glasnow.

We took two out of 3 vs the Pirates as we won our 2nd game in a row to move our divisional lead to 2 games over the Pirates and 5 games over the Cubs who lost.

We each have 10 games left in the regular season.

            Remaining schedule:

            3 @ Cubs
            4 @ Brewers
            3 vs Pirates

The quest for a 3rd straight divisional crown is coming down to the wire.

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

Our two game winning streak was short lived as we dropped the series opener to the Cubs, 3-2. We only managed 2 hits off of Jaime Garcia and zero off the bullpen. Sam Freeman couldn't get the job done, again, in a key role vs a left handed hitter. This time it was Schwarber that got the game winning base hit against him.

The Pirates beat the Brewers in extras, so the Pirates are within a game and the Cubs have are within 4 1/2.

                      Other clinches today:

                      Indians clinched a playoff birth
                      Mets clinched the NL East
                      Dodgers clinched home field advantage

Lance Lynn vs Duane Underwood in Game 2.

Re: MLB 16 Franchise Progress Thread

We were swept by the Cubs and for the first time since June, or maybe earlier, we are no longer sitting atop the NL Central Division as we trail the Pirates by a game. The Cubs are within 2 1/2.

We are in the 2nd wildcard spot, 2 1/2 games ahead of the Cubs.

                        7 games left:

                        4 @ Brewers
                        3 vs Pirates

                        It's getting serious now.

Our losing streak stands at 4 games now as we lost the series opener to the Brewers. Thankfully the Pirates lost to the Reds and the A's beat the Cubs to keep us 1 game behind the Pirates for the Central Division crown and 2 1/2 over the Cubs for the 2nd wildcard.

The Giants have clinched a wildcard spot.

We snapped our 4 game losing streak beating the Brewers 2-1 in Milwaukee. Bumgarner was dominant in 7 innings of work, striking out 8 and allowing 3 hits, one of those being a solo homerun. Holliday hit what would be the game winning homerun in the 7th to give us the 2-1 lead.

Best news is that the Pirates' struggles continue as they lost to the Reds so we are now tied atop the Central Division. The Cubs beat the A's to maintain within 2 1/2 games of the division and the 2nd wildcard spot.

Next up is game 3 of 4 vs the Brewers. Carlos Martinez vs Zach Davies.

Extended our winning streak to 2 games after beating the Brewers 6-0. Carlos Martinez left after the first due to injury, but turned out to only be a blister so he'll be ready for the playoffs. Pirates and Cubs won as well so the standings haven't changed.

We remain tied with the Pirates for the Central division crown and the Cubs are 2 1/2 back of both of us for the 2nd wildcard. With their win, the Giants have secured the first wildcard spot.

Next up is series finale with the Brewers. We have Lance Lynn on the mound. Not sure who they have.
