Could Chris Archer, Hank Conger fetch the Rays this bounty

Joey Gallo
Jurickson Profar/Lewis Brinson/Nomar Mazara

I know there's a lot of options as to Archers value. But with the Rays being a small market club not known to spend tons of money I think he can get them some nice cost controlled players. If not from the Rangers then from who ?

No it couldn't. Conger has a below average wRC+ and catches as many attempted steal as I do (he's bad) so he probably hurts your deal.

Gallo is worth $73.5 million in SV
Brinson is worth $62.0 million in SV
Mazara has proven he can do it in the bigs so he isn't going anywhere.
Martin Perez is getting hurt constantly, but he has a super team friendly deal and will only make $29.8 Million through 2020 including his options. He adds a little over $30 million in SV


You could absolutely ask for one of Brinson/Gallo in an Archer deal plus another top-100 prospect, but with how Archer is doing this season you can't get two plus a cost controlled starter

lol just figured with all the talk of the Rangers needing a catcher he would be serviceable (sounds like he's a negative)

Brinson/Gallo + Luis Ortiz. Texas wouldn't give up Dillon Tate.

Even if you only think Archer is a 3WAR pitcher going forward that deal won't cut it. It would need to be Gallo + Tate. Honestly it might take another player with that.


I understand you say Texas won't trade Tate, and my response to that would be that Tampa isn't just going to give away Archer. To get a guy like him on a super team friendly deal it usually takes an overpay.

I cannot hit with Dustin Ackley, was thinking of flipping him over to the outfield needy Indians in exchange for Joba Chamberlain (I'm a homer, sue me.) and his 4.91 ERA over the first month.

Cleveland has a pretty crappy bullpen though right now, but at best he's probably their fourth best performing reliever. Thoughts?

Definitely not enough for Glasnow, not really sure about Bell. The pirates could use another arm and Bell is blocked in the outfield but he also plays 1B....

Cobb could probably land you any one of the Marlins...although might need a little more to get Ozuna.

I think the Cubs were more interested in Odorizzi, and I know Baez and Soler were the kind of in the middle of that discussion. I think you'd need to throw in at least one more piece to get Baez....or any of the other Cubs prospects for that matter

They have no incentive to give you Glasnow. 2017 is the last year of team control for Cobb, and coming off TJ no one would give a prospect with the ceiling that Glasnow has for him. If youre gonna make this many changes playing with the Rays is kinda pointless when you trade away Cobb/Archer/Honeywell/Odorizi/Snell etc. Maybe try a Fantasy Draft

Just into the third season. Looking for a middle of the order power bat. Obviously not enough games into season three to give there stats so I'll give the second season stats. But is there a trade to bring Cutch to Atlanta?

Atlanta gives:
SS, Ozhaino Albies (A Pot)
OF, Ender Inciarte (13 HR/ 68 RBI/ 28 SB/ .269 AVG/ 3.02 WAR)
SP, Kolby Allard (A Pot.)

Pirates give:
CF, Andrew McCutchen ( 30/119/12/.351/10.88) last year of deal

No not trading all of them was looking to help make them better. Was looking for ideas and gonna pick one. But looks like the best deal would be for Archer to the Rangers

I know these guys have been talked about a pretty good bit, kinda convinced me to go after one. What's the realism level of Sonny Gray or Chris Archer being moved? I was thinking Archer is a bit unrealistic since he just signed an extension, would like others opinions on that though. Also which is more valuable?

Gray- 3.18 ERA 3.91 FIP 1.26 WAR 7.13 K/9 2.20 BB/9 making 1.4 million, 3.5 years of control left.

Archer - 5.83 ERA 4.71 FIP 0.42 WAR 8.67 K/9 3.41 BB/9 making 4.2 million /year for the next 4.5 years.

I'm mid June so I'm not looking to make a deal now, neither team is even out of the playoff race just yet. I'm jut trying to get an idea of who I would like to go after and what their round about values are in this instance.
