Bad choice of words, what I meant was that he still has the potential to become one of those top tier infield guys. But personally, that injury is not as big of a red flag since it does not affect his hitting. The Rangers have a jam in the infield they need to fix and trading profar, for top talent, just may be the that solution.

If he can get better and play a year or so injury free then I can see the Rangers getting a good return but if he's traded this year or next don't expect much. Even with his skill set he's still a lottery ticket.
Plus don't tell me his stick is good enough to be a full time DH because it is not my friend. His vaule is no where close to what it was before the injuries and a infielder with bad shoulders won't bring back much. I think at this point a deal for Miller won't be bad. Yankees would be taking the risk on ProfurNewYork Mets | NewYork Knicks | NewYork "Football" Giants

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
No team in there right mind would trade top tier guys for a natural shortstop that has had two major shoulder injuries and hasn't even played a full season yet ?

I like Profar, but it's gonna take more than 17 good games after years wiped out by injury to make me a believer. He's more of a buy low guy, than a sell for your best outfielder type guy.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
After a hot 2 weeks to end june, the Tigers sit atop the NL central. Ive switched gears and would like to add a few pieces to help me win now. I still want to shop James McCann (.340/.435/.541 2.24WAR in 56games splitting time with Salty)
If I need to shop McCann to a team out of contention to take advantage of his 5 years of control Id like to get a left handed or switch hitting bat to plug into the outfield. Ive got 4 guys Id like to get, none of their respective teams are within 10 games of the division or 2nd wildcard. If I need to add something besides McCann, or completely take him out and add in what little bit of prospect depth I have, Im okay with doing that as well.
Josh Reddick .289/.333/.491 1.57WAR
Nick Markakis .255/.325/.344 -0.48WAR
Jeremy Hazelbaker .274/.333/.395 0.60WAR
Billy Hamilton .277/.328/.367 1.22WARComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
This is probably undervaluing JD Martinez of all people. He's become one of the premier slugging OFs in baseball, is still < 30, and has a very reasonable short term deal (basically a steal) through 2017.

You guys might be underselling Profar. He's only 23 and he was the #1 prospect for a reason. The kid is for realComment

This has ramifications for your DH.
We might be. Or you might be overstating the odds of him reaching his potential and staying healthy for any stretch of time.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I thought about having a better prospect than Clarkin added to Profar but Martinez is struggling this year so I thought it was close. I think we can agree Martinez won't be a 150+ wRC guy again like 2014. He is probably more of a 130 wRC guy which is still very good. I was really just trying to find something to help the guy who wanted Profar on the Tigers. Other can feel free to throw something together to help he make it happen

I dont know, I was just amazed when I saw him hit an upper decker the other night. Dont see many guys of his stature have raw power like that.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
On the subject of Profar, I think the uncertainty that comes with him at this point probably makes it less likely he'll even be traded. I'd have to think that Texas will wait until he's rehabilitated his value/image and that other teams will want to see a bit of recent track record/ability to man a middle INF spot before plunking down their best assets to grab him. I don't think Profar gets traded until the offseason after 2016 at the earliest. There's no denying his talent. But, there's also no denying that his record of staying on the field in recent years is abysmal.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I am going to start a franchise as the Padres. I really have no idea of what direction I am going to take, but I think it is safe to say that I will be rebuilding. Any suggestions of some trades I should make to get this process going. I am trying to be very realistic with trades and when to call up prospects.Comment

Do you think it would be too much to ask for Daz Cameron or Tony Kemp in return (Replacing Preston Tucker)?Comment
