Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
A trade I'm pondering in my carryover (in Year 8, 2022)
(^ = rising grade, - = dropping grade)
Marlins (me) trade:
SP Will Bullock (82^/B, 25 y/o, 5 yr team control left)
SS Chris Owings (81^/B^, 30 y/o, 5 yr team control left)
D-Backs trade:
IF/OF Martin Ybarra (72^/B, 23 y/o, 5 yr team control left)
LF Rex Dean (45^/B, 19 y/o, MLC)
Rationale:
Diamondbacks are in playoff contention, but have been ravaged by injuries. Their pitching is on the bottom half of the league and Owings would likely become their starting SS.
On the Marlins side, I'm flushed with pitching prospects and Bullock is the one I like the least (not much to do with his performance, I don't like his HR/9 being the 2nd highest rating since I play all my games with no sim or fast forward...but that should play to the CPU advantage in sim where it matters). Chris Owings deserves to start, he's seeing new life in MLB16 with him raising his potential from C to B and he's having across the board +1 or +2 in all ratings.
I'd get a project with upside at LF where he might takeover for Yelich down the road and Ybarra is a good SS prospect. He's currently on the D-Backs bench seeing little playing time (86 AB into June).
Ybarra is the must-have. He's the reason I'd be interested in this deal.
I'd be willing to add some decent prospects if need be. Probably won't screenshot them (since I have very few "untouchables" and they wouldn't belong in this trade anyway I don't think), but I can give particulars.
The CPU will accept as presented, which is relevant because:
a) I don't use 30-team control.
b) If I need to add something to my side and/or take from their side, I can do it without reworking the whole trade.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Didn't you post this before??
These types of responses don't really help the situation much. While it is suggested in the OP that users shouldn't bump their own trades, it's common for some deals to get buried under more popular discussions.
A more productive response would have been:
"Hey man, people in this thread don't usually enjoy it when you bump your own trades. What helps is when you give more information. Its kinda hard to find a quality response when you leave it so wide open"Follow my Twins franchise http://www.operationsports.com/Tmizzle/dynasty/Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Do you have any targets in mind?
I imagine you could pack them together to get a good player at the least, especially if Dozier is rated like he is in mine (I have a MLB16 franchise in year 2 using OSFM v2 and that's what I'm looking at to get their ratings). Plouffe's starting to slide in mine but maybe he's still holding up with those stats in yours.
Are you looking for any particular type of pitcher? There's more than a few good pitchers around. Same for the other positions? Contact + Speed? Speed + Defense? Strong arm? Etc.
Just to help narrow it some. Or use the Player Search and come up with some interesting names?Follow my Twins franchise http://www.operationsports.com/Tmizzle/dynasty/Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Yea he hasn't stated any targets yet. I'm around the all star break in my twins season and I already traded Plouffe since he was the odd man out and the Rays wanted him. He's hitting solid for the Rays. Dozier broke his arm in my season but before that he was hitting .280. We need to know who you are looking to get. Did you re-sign Plouffe?Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

He mentioned he was looking for SP prospects but I think he might want to use the Player Search to find some names he likes and bring them here. I mean, I could do a search and list guys I might could see and run it up the flag pole to see who salutes it, but it's his trade, not mine"Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Don't really have any targets in mind. Could move sano to third but looking at cabbage at third hopefully in year three or four if he progresses well. So would keep sano in right. Looking for SP prospects to help build a future rotation with Jay and Berrios. Have a future infield in mind of 2-Gordon, 3-Cabbage, S- Polanco. Could use a future first baseman after Mauer exits or goes to DH fulltime.Follow my Twins franchise http://www.operationsports.com/Tmizzle/dynasty/Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Mark Derosa made an interesting proposal on MLB Central this morning, was wondering if any of yall watched the segment and might have some input on this. We all know the Angels are basically tanking at this point with all their injuries and REALLY depleted farm. Trading the best player in the game might be something they have to do if they wanna compete again. Here's what Dero proposed:
LAA receives:
3B Pablo Sandoval
LF Rusney Castillo
CF Jackie Bradley Jr
C/OF Blake Swihart
P Eduardo Rodriguez
2B Yoan Moncada
BOS receives:
CF Mike Trout
1B/DH Albert Pujols
P Matt Shoemaker
Sorta makes a little sense, but then you'd most likely have the Angels' fan base implode even with a return like thatComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Well, If you want to build around a future around Jay, Berrios, Gordon, Cabbage and Polanco, That doesn't leave much value to trade for a top tier SP or 1B. Plouffe wouldn't bring you back anything special unless a prospect was added as well. Dozier could net you a prospect or two but nothing that would be eye popping. Are you not using Arcia or Park at DH? Also, what about Kenny Vargas at 1B?Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
If I had to guess a package for Mike Trout to get to the Red Sox would have to look something like:
BOS trades:
RF Mookie Betts
2B Yoan Moncada
CF Andrew Benintendi
SP Michael Kopech
C Blake Swihart
and then you build from there, if you're trading for the best player in the game it's going to hurt...A LOTPSN: lxl_Porta_lxl
