I agree with this, but I also think Correa, Trout and Harper have spoiled us. We expect these kids to be stars at 22 like they project to be when it's possible he just isn't quite ready. There's nothing wrong with being closer to 25 than 20 when you finally break out. Hell, Donaldson was old when he finally did. All these players are different some just take a bit. All of this started with a question about trading for Sano though and I think he is pretty untouchable

Okay but you can't expect guys like Donaldson. Late bloomers are unexpected by definition. There have also been lots of Mark Appels lately, that's the draft. From what we've seen he may just not be very good. It's not like he's playing a tier below what we expected. He's half the league average offensively and striking out over 35% of the time.
Sano might be a Stanton-lite that can play 3B, lol. I don't think him and Bryant are too far off bat wise.Last edited by AC; 04-28-2016, 06:34 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

And Buxton confuses me. He really shouldn't be this bad a hitter and I'm not sure why its going on. Maybe he just doesn't have it. I'd lean towards him turning it on before he hits that 600 or 700 AB level you mentioned earlier.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys was just wondering if anyone had an opinion on the values of Kike Hernandez from the Dodgers and Eduardo Escobar from the twins. In my franchise they're both a 78 and c potential. Hernandez is doing better and is younger so I'd assume he's worth more right? Sorry if the guys I ask about are too untouchable, I don't really watch a ton of baseball, it kinda holds me over between basketball seasons.Comment

I am also curious about a Votto trade. You think that Votto for Matz and Smith is a fair deal? I'm a big Matz guy and would love to play with him in a rebuilding situation.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
You're right and I conveyed my thoughts wrong. My point was the Trout/Harper/Correa crazy early stars and the late bloomers like Donaldson are outliers. I was trying to say that its completely reasonable to be 24 years old before you break out. I also agree on the Sano value, he has out of this world potential.
And Buxton confuses me. He really shouldn't be this bad a hitter and I'm not sure why its going on. Maybe he just doesn't have it. I'd lean towards him turning it on before he hits that 600 or 700 AB level you mentioned earlier.
Buxton is overwhelmed right now and he may have been brought up too fast. He is only 22. That's a baby in The Show. Again the expectations are far to heavy because of the freaky success of Harper and Trout. MLB teams can permanently damage a great prospects confidence when they put too much pressure and expectations for them to perform at a high level in their early 20's....it's just not common. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
How do you come up with that. He was just traded which gives an idea of his value and it sure as hell wasn't a top-10 prospect for 1 season of ChapmanComment
