What would it take to get Sano from the twins? He's one of the guys I do really well with in the other modes but I don't want to use the Twins for my franchise. I know it's not probably not something that would happen but I'd like to get it as fair as possible.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
What team are you playing as?
It would take a king's ransom to get Sano. He has 80 grade power and is right handed. Plus he is young and pre-arbitration. It definitely isn't realistic, and to make it fair it would really hurt the farm.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
His contract is a legit issue. Most teams cannot take on that type of salary, and would hesitate to do so while also giving away valuable prospects. His value really depends on how well he is pitching. $28 million per year for a pitcher that hasn't broken 3 WAR since 2013 is a tough pill to swallow.Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm playing as the cardinals right now. I'm using osfm 2.2 and haven't made any moves. I like the idea of him playing right while Holliday plays first and using him at third with Carpenter at second. I have played a few games and have not played well with Wong at all. Anyone can go really except Grichuk and Piscotty.Comment

Thanks for responding guys. Looks like I'll give up on those dreams lol. Might just stick to the trade block to get some production from my infield, I'm not getting a whole lot from first, second, or short really.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
You said pretty much anyone else could go, right? Build a deal around Wacha and prospects, and that could work. St. Louis always has someone that can come up from the minors and put up stellar numbers on the bump. Minnesota is going to build a team around a guy like Sano (and have no real reason to move him), so it's going to be a little more than what you're comfortable trading if you really want him.
Spitballing here..

While Sano would cost a ton, I still feel like the Cardinals could get it done without Piscotty or Grichuk.. There's a lot of talent to work with in that system.

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
There are definitely cheaper and more realistic alternatives to play 3B (or any of those other positions).
Does Martinez really have that much more value than Wacha? They're both 24. Regardless.. one of the two would have to be involved in a deal. The one I proposed seemed pitching heavy, but I honestly couldn't tell you who the best bat in the Cardinals minor league system is lol.
C-Mart/Wacha + Reyes + Flaherty/Weaver + a bat?
That's a very young, very talented, cost controlled pitcher who has shown at least flashes success in the majors + a top 10-15 prospect + a back end T100 prospect/a guy who isn't too far away from being there + their best bat in the minors..
You'd have to think that Minnesota wouldn't want to move Sano, but that kind of offer would at least get some attention.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah I knew there was no chance that the reals Twins would trade him, but I was just trying to make it fair. Thanks for the help and ideas if I do decide to try and do it. There are some cheaper options on the trade block in my franchise for sure. Might try for Freddy Galvis or Marwin Gonzalez. The Twins have Plouffe and Escobar on the block too so I might still trade with them lol.Comment

Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread
Does any Rays pitcher (including Snell) besides Archer start discussions about Schwarber?
If not, any MLB ready catchers I should target with Rays pitchers?
Is Freeman for Honeywell,Schaffer+ a possibility? Would the Rays be inclined to pay Freeman's contract like they are Longoria's? (willing to pay to lock down a position at below market value long term)
Any top 10 shortstops I could make a play for with Rays pitchers? What would it take to get Jose Iglesias?Comment

Now for the sake of the argument. If, for example, Schwarber was having a sub-par year and Soler had taken most of the playing time in left, then I think it might be possible for them to move Schwarber for a Chris Archer at the deadline. But in all likelyhood I think that's a long shot. Epstein and Co. love Schwarber, almost as much as Rizzo and KB.
So ultimately, I guess it depends on what's happening in your franchise.Comment
