Re: MLB 16 Trade Discussion Thread

I have a harder time pitching with lefties for some reason,
I would like to trade Henry Owens becasue the Sox already have Price and Erod and I dont want another lefty in my rotation.
My question is Henry Owens plus what for a number 3ish RH pitcher.
    Any suggestions?

Just started my 6 team franchise (Seattle, Detroit, Boston, Colorado, Cubs, Atlanta). If I'm out of it with Seattle at deadline, what's the value of Cruz and Hernandez?

In my Orioles franchise it is May 7th. I'm 17-13 and having issues with corner OF. Rickard is hurt (broken hand) And won't be back until mid-June. I've been getting by with Reimold/Hyun Soo-Kim, and Trumbo has been decent. But the defense has fallen off and an interesting trade was offered to me.

Do I pull the trigger and move Trumbo to LF/DH? And when Rickard comes back make him the 4th OF/Prospect?

As an O's fan, how do you not pull the trigger on that? A Markakis reunion while getting rid of Kim?

Aside from that, Markakis is more of a slap hitter at this point, but he's a CLEAR upgrade on defense, which it sounds like you are going for. You also clear some payroll for the Braves. Go for it as long as that B prospect doesn't bother you.

He's a closer, which I'm pretty sure I can replace with some other pieces in my organization.

I also wanna apologize, and hope I didnt come off rude in my last response. Was not my intention.
Not at all! You'd have to eat Howard's deal to get Thompson in my opinion. Needs more cash than ruiz.

If it matters, Kim can't be traded until June 15 I believe???? as he was just signed. But if you don't really care, yeah, go for it. It's a bit of salary to take on and I know the O's added salary so watch your budget, but that's a nice upgrade. Markakis is a nice OBP-defense guy.

I'm not super worried about Kim's 6/15 cut off (play franchise as 'my own world').

I made the trade. WTNY pushed me over the edge. He's absolutely right that having a reunion with Markakis is an Orioles fan's dream AND it helps my team immediately.

                    Thanks everyone!

Cruz... eh. Nice power bat, but limited on defense, and teams care about things like that. I think he could fetch a back-of-the-rotation starter or a B-grade prospect. Maybe more IRL, where the M's could eat some of the salary.

Presuming you mean Felix Hernandez, he should return (no pun intended) a king's ransom. Look at the Cole Hamels trade between PHI and TEX, and allow for the fact that Hernandez > Hamels. Guys like that are rarely available in trade. I don't know his contract in the game so your trading partners might be limited due to budget constraints.

JB is 35 and EE is 33. Ages that start to show decline and a decline that happens fast. idc if they were 100 million assets. they aren't going to continue what they're doing for the next 3-5 years.

Their decline doesn't warrant MLB ready talent.

What would it take to get Villar from Milwaukee? They're way out of contention and have called up top prospect Orlando Arcia (A potential). I'm the A's and I need a better defensive SS. Villar is a downgrade at the plate from Semien but way better with the glove

Also, any suggestions on a good defensive 3B?

                              Phillies get: Preston Tucker

Astros get: Darin Ruf and Darnell Sweeney

This occurred in the 2nd week of season and Tyler White was really struggling. Tucker was a reserve OF. Is this fair?

Even with that being said I don't think they're looking to move him. They've got a competitive window that's shrinking with Felix also getting older. Don't see a real reason why'd they want to take on Elsbury's deal while giving up Cano. Absolutely no way you pull Cano and Walker though..

Mateo/Judge + for Seattle to think about trading Walker.

Choo is signed for a year less and makes 4 million less per year for 2016 and 2017, then will make a million or so less for the remainder of his deal. Really don't see any reason for Texas to do that swap unless Ellsbury is playing out of his mind (then you wouldn't want to trade him). Just like Walker, Gallo being involved in any deal for Ellsbury isn't fair or realistic.
With Cano, it's mostly a thought of the Mariners getting out of the money, and I was thinking it'd have to be something like Ellsbury + Mateo + to get Cano and Walker, but an Ellsbury/Cano deal would have to make sense first.

As for Choo, Yankees would have to eat some of Ellsbury's deal, and hoping that the Rangers might value the defense/speed aspect of Ellsbury's game more than they value Choo's bat-first game, which I would take Choo's skillset obviously. And again, to get Gallo, I was thinking it would take Mateo/Judge as well. The Yankees have a big hole at third base, so something like this is something that would make sense for me even if I had to eat money here, but only if it makes sense on both ends.

Just for fun, any thoughts on how to get rid of Ellsbury that you think do make sense?
