I believe he is referring to the fact half of your games are not at your home stadium, LOL.

Red Birds Rock In Their 2016 Home Opener As Bryce Hit's his 3rd Dinger

Harper is having fun early in the year!

April 2016 - The Manifesto rages on as the Cardinals won their home opener 6-1 vs a stout Brewer squad. Bryce Harper hit his 3rd HR of the season a 2 run opposite field shot on a 3-0 pitch (green light power swing yet again!!). So far this season Harper has easily shown he is an early MVP favorite with his power hitting. Rookie pitcher Kenta Madea pitched 8 strong innings to pick up his 2nd win in as many starts. Madea has been painting the corners early here in the campaign. Rookie SS Jacob Herzberg picked up his first major league RBI and stole his 4th base on the season. So far the kid has shown a lot of moxie filling in for Francisco Lindor (out 1-2 months). The game came with a price though as back up CF Byron Buxtom tore his ACL on a slide back into first base on a snap throw from Catcher Salvador Perez. Buxton had to be carried off the field. He was placed on the DL and will miss the entire season. The Cardinals are looking to sign a veteran OF to fill his spot. They already have Ichiro, Holt and Herzberg also plays CF if needed. But they want one more utility OF and bat off the bench. Calling up another youngster is not really an option as they want those kids to get AB's down on the farm. The Cardinals are off to a great 6-1 start.

I just have to say this is the first time I have played a franchise doing a fantasy team and so far I am really having more fun than I ever have with a non classic roster. I am also doing it as a single team franchise (no 30 team control) and it has been so much fun just focusing on my team only. Anything goes. I am seriously going to play this long term. I am not even feeling my 2016 Yankees franchise compared to this.

I feel totally invested in this team I constructed. I am going to play every game and turn my Yankees chise into a play one sim 5. I will continue with my 1987 year 2 of course (which is an amazing franchise). But all I am thinking about every day is this team. With Sounds of Show it also has made it really really cool. I have every teams sounds set up as well as player walk-ups. Amazing stuff.

Playing in Busch Stadium is amazing. It is gorgeous on this years iteration of The Show. Also playing in the NL central is awesome. It feels fresh for me as I only ever played in the AL East (and I have played in the AL central with KC in the 1984 season replay a few years back on MLB 13).

Sad to see Buxton was lost to you, I have him on my team as well. I face a similar issue if really anybody gets hurt on my roster as I don't have much depth off the bench at the Major League Level and most of my top talent in the minors is a year or two away from the bigs.


Interesting to see who you go with to replace Buxton as the everyday guy or if you platoon out there.

Sad to see Buxton was lost to you, I have him on my team as well. I face a similar issue if really anybody gets hurt on my roster as I don't have much depth off the bench at the Major League Level and most of my top talent in the minors is a year or two away from the bigs.


Interesting to see who you go with to replace Buxton as the everyday guy or if you platoon out there.

Actually Inciarte is my everyday CF. Buxton was simply a back up. OF depth is good with Holt (LF or RF in an emergency), Ichiro and Herzberg (who can play CF). I want one more veteran bat on the bench though. Once Lindor is back (hopefully in one month instead of 2) I will have more flexibility. I am carrying 11 pitchers right now and hope that will suffice. Being in the NL I want more off the bench options for PH/PR. Buxton was speed off the bench and he will be missed.

I have Winkler and Judge in the minors as "A" OF prospects but I want them to get their AB's and not rush them up. In September they will get their taste of the Big's. I feel as long as I can stay healthy this team is a real contender already in year 1.

Driving back home, I cannot agree more with A&S about being consumed by the fantasy franchise this year. Unfortunately I also keep thinking about having hunter pence back on the stros. Chances are 1 final draft, a trade for pence and get back at it.

Odds are my team won't do much in year 1 as they are so young and I am loaded with Minor League talent. Also there is the fact that I may lose a lot of my team to retirement after year 1, but I am intrigued at the challenge of building around my Stars (Sale, Bryant, Schwarber, Russell)

Building around Harper, Marte, Lindor, Franco, Inciarte, Herzberg, Bird, Tyler White....it's exciting to think about the now and the future. My pitching is very solid and without big names. It feels more like a KC staff effort without a true Ace. But right now Ventura has looked like an Ace for me as well as Madea. Matz is a future Ace IMO as well. It will be interesting to see how they grow together over the next 2-3 seasons.

Health is my primary concern this season. Already losing Lindor for at least a month and now Buxton for the season has me a tad nervous. I am platooning Bird (RHP) and White (LHP) so hopefully that will keep Bird healthy. White is off to a torrid start vs lefties too!!! Bird has hit a few bombs as well.

But the core is there for titles to roll in if everything falls into place with the pitching and health. I am predicting a year one World Series appearance at the very least!!!!

I encourage everyone to play every game of the season if they can. You become truly attached to your team in this fashion. Even moreso in a Fantasy Franchise because it is truly YOUR Team.

Had the 30th pick, and picked Correa. Now I'm facing a delima, do I take syndergaard (who would be my long term ace) or Anthony rizzo? I am leaning towards syndergaard. Any suggestions?

I encourage everyone to play every game of the season if they can. You become truly attached to your team in this fashion. Even moreso in a Fantasy Franchise because it is truly YOUR Team.

My carryover Marlins have become a fixture in my mind because of this. As more fictionals and my draftees make it up, it's like "I raised these kids".

I expect to get attached to my fantasy draft team as well.
