Any thoughts on if I should deal Puig or Soler? Looking for a lefty bat at the same position.

I'm thinking I should put both on the block. I am going to start playing tonight.

I'm going to make some highlight videos of all my games to share as well.
Could trade both for a bigger star and a prospect?

Well I did it...kind of, I am in the process of drafting this Astros franchise. In doing so, I have created a Dynasty blog. Kind of new to this whole thing, but I am going to post on that blog the entirety of the draft picks, with the player overall in parenthesis near there name. I will also be much more in depth there, and just post little tidbit updates on here (short game recaps). I will let everyone know when the draft tables are completed, as well as the Depth Chart.

Out of the two, I would probably trade Soler, who I always struggled with personally.

Almost 2/3 done (well, round 58th right now).

          Still KILLING it !

I was able to secure enough talent for my bench, and Triple-A, so that most of my younger players will have time to develop nicely in Double-A at first.

I'll probably have a few position battle, but if everything goes according to my plan, I might be able to afford a pretty nice package for that veteran, middle of the rotation lefty I passed on earlier in the draft...which is the one thing I'm really missing I think.

          Stay tuned !

Cardinals 5-0 out of the gate and looking to finish off second road sweep tonstart the season!!!

Tyler White has been tearing the covet off the ball as is Brucr Harper and M.Franco.

Pitching has been pretty on point as well.

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

Boston might be turning things around after a 1-4 start. Sale, Walker, and Finnegan have just run off three consecutive great starts to lead the way. Familia has 3 saves and the bullpen has been lights out in the early going.

Gallo hit is first home run out to right center into the bullpens. Chris Carter continues to scorch the ball along with Sano.

The top of the order is off to a slow start, though DeShields had a good game last time out.

On the downside, Schwarber has been a non-factor to start the year and both Kolten Wong and Bryon Buxton have been cooled off from hot starts. The back of the rotation with Urias and Reyes has struggled, though that's not unexpected.

Nothing much is expected to change this early into the season.

Notes: Jorge Mateo got his first career stolen base and run scored...Any tensions between Chapman and Familia have been kept under wraps...perhaps two closer-level pitchers will be able to coexist...

Draft Results posted in my dynasty. Figured I'd share the depth chart here as well. A trade was made, for 2B Neil Walker, explained in detail.

                        SPACE CITY 'STROS

Prior to Game 1 of the Season, I figured I would throw in a bit about some of the prospects I took in the draft.

                        PROSPECTS
C- Carson Kelly (67 Ovr/C pot/26th round) at 21 with a cannon arm and good durability, Kelly has the ability to be our catcher of the future, with the proper training (Hitting is awful)

SP- Zach Lee (69 Ovr/A pot/27th round) The 24 year old Texan has a lot of upside, he's spending time at AAA Fresno, working on his velocity

CF- Clint Frazier (62 Ovr/A pot/28th round) 20 Years old, a potential 5 tool star to pair with Correa in the future.

3B- Andy Burns (68 Ovr/C pot/29th Round) Burns gives us another potential "Brock Holt" type player, with a little more speed, and batting from the right. Barring any injuries, Burns will come up to take over Holts utility role.

                        SP-Grant Holmes (66 Ovr /B pot/30th Round)
SP- Braden Shipley (66 Ovr /B pot/31st Round)
                        SS- Cole Tucker (49 Ovr/B pot/40th Round)

**There are some others, but this post is long enough!**

                          THE DRAFT
Well, after a grueling day of scouting and analysis, the anticipation is now over as the 2016 Fantasy Draft is now in the books. It started with the San Diego Padres who selected, with the first pick overall, left-handed all star Clayton Kershaw, while outfielders Mike Trout and Bryce Harper respectively went to Tampa Bay and Texas, with the second and third pick.

But what retains the attention in Cleveland right now is the spectacular draft the Indians had, picking at #17. Let's review together the team that GM Jonathan Lord assembled, but first, here's a quick recap of some interesting calls made by the man in charge.

                          ---

                          ROUND 1: THE INDIANS' CORNERSTONE
With many franchise players still on the board, including 1st baseman Anthony Rizzo and 3rd baseman Nolan Arenado, the Cleveland Indians opted for Carlos Correa as the cornerstone of their franchise. At only 21, Correa can already do it all. He can swing for both contact and power, has more than decent speed on the base path, while also being very sound defensively, helped by his strong accurate arm.

Getting that kind of offense from shortstop was just to good to pass on.

ROUND 5: HEATED ARGUMENT BETWEEN SCOUTS
Everything turned out well for the Indians, but it wasn't always an easy process. In the 5th round, the scouting team had a pretty hard time deciding between 3 options: Yasiel Puig, Kyle Seager and Miguel Sano. The later seemed to have the advantage, being able to play both 3B and RF. However, the general manager made a gutsy call, picking former golden glove winner Kyle Seager instead.

A source close the team reported: "It was a struggle, but ultimately it came down to two things: plate vision and a left bat."

You can easily understand how ecstatic the scout team was when they saw Miguel Sano still available in the 6th round.

                          ROUND 10: A SURPRISE PICK
The Cleveland Indians weren't really looking to add an outfielder at this point, having their mind set on bringing a veteran left-handed starting pitcher to the rotation. However, their initial target Gio Gonzalez had already been snagged by the Detroit Tigers. So the Indians started to look elsewhere...which is where they found rookie outfielder Nomar Mazara. Intrigued by the possibility of bringing him in and use Miguel Sano as a designated hitter instead, the GM made the call.

"Mazara is still pretty young, but has a canon of an arm and the tools to succeed in this league. Having a designated like Sano, who can not only play the rightfield, but also 3rd base and maybe even 1st base, is a luxury that gives us a lot of flexibility.

ROUND 24: THE SELECTION OF MATT MOORE
The Indians were looking to add some leadership to a relatively young pitching staff when they saw Matt Moore's name on the list. Of course, he comes with a questionable health, but in the 24th round, that was a gamble the GM was willing to take. We still don't know for sure how the Indians intend to use him, as some sources are reporting that using him in long relief might be a possibility if he fails to secure a spot in the starting rotation.

ROUND 18 THROUGH 49: BUILDING THE FARM
The Cleveland Indians knew they were probably going to draft young, given the small market their playing in. But never in a million years did the GM expect to draft so many highly praised prospects in the draft. Cleveland literally have a key prospect at each position, especially on the mound where they've been able to secure 5 of the most promising arms in the country in Lucas Giolito (28th round), Luis Severino (13th round), Alex Reyes (29th round), Julio Urias (26th round) and Jose Berrios (25th round).

But that's just a glimpse of what the Indians can count on in the upcoming years.

POST-DRAFT: THE TRADE THAT BROUGHT EVERYTHING TOGETHER
Only a few minutes after the draft, the Cleveland Indians confirmed a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, bringing in left handed starting pitcher Jose Quintana, hard throwing relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress and centerfielder Delino Deshields Jr. in return of veteran right handed pitcher R.A. Dickey, reliever Cody Winiarski and highly touted prospect Javier Baez.

The one thing the Indians were missing was that veteran left arm in the middle of the rotation, and with Quintana now on board, the Indians look like a deadly formation, one that could aspire to a World championship sooner rather than later.

                          ---

But enough talking already. Ladies and gentlemen, here's a look at your new and improved 2016 Cleveland Indians !

I must say I've been a fan of SUPER REALISTIC franchises the last couple years, So I guess this year I am just sick of finding the "perfect setup"

So what I am doing this year is running a fantasy franchise,

I am playing with the Padres

Padres have hired new GM, Zach Roberts, 29 year old prodigy GM from Kansas.

I have completed the 90 round draft.

                            --------------------------------------------

                            ALTERNATE REALITY

Commissioner Manfred has called for a complete organizational re-draft of all 30 MLB Teams to increase popularity in the sport. Many fans are outraged, as well as the players who are forced to potentially change teams.

The MLB has reached a deal with the MLBPA to keep all salaries in their current state as well as promised increase Television profit sharing with the Player's Organization.

Donors are pouring in millions as well as buying stake in teams to cover a change in payroll. The MLB Predicts a major rise in the budget off all Major League Baseball teams over the next 10 years.

Commissioner Manfred has also announced that due to recent injury scares and Player vote, the National League will adopt the "Designated Hitter"

On January 23rd-24th, 2016, the 30 Major League Baseball Teams participated in the Organizational Re-Draft.

The Draft was broadcasted on ESPN at 7:00PM for rounds 1-46, and on ESPN at 3:00PM on the 24th for rounds 47-90.

The Draft was one of most highly anticipated sporting events on television off all time, registering around 600 million viewers worldwide.

"I believe this was a huge success for the league and it's future." stated Commissioner Manfred. "Everyday we are looking to evolve this game, everyone is happy with the way this has turned out."

                            -----------------------------------------------------------

The Padres Opening Day Roster will be posted once Spring Training is concluded!

                            More to come!
                            -------------------------

I'm very excited for this franchise as I think this is something that I can run with for a very long time without worrying about realism being 100% accurate all the time.
I also have a Googles Doc page that I will be updating, it will be put in my sig as soon as it's ready.
