Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
Clearing The Hurdle, Or Clearing The Fences?
The Pirates completely dominated the Red Birds on opening day! Clint Frazier worked a full count, and wound up with a lead off single against the Cardinals ace - Chris Archer. Next batter, another rookie - Tim Tebow. 1st pitch fastball, Tebow deposits a home run deep into the right field bleachers (437 ft) to give the Pirates the lead. Things would only get worse for the Red Birds...
In the 5th inning, Archer would allow Frazier and Tebow to get on base, and than walk Todd Frazier to load the bases. The Cards brought in left hander - Corey Luebke with Brett Wallace coming to bat. Wallace immediately crushed a ball to dead center for a grand slam. Trevor story hit a solo shot to top it off.
All told, the Pirates won 12-1 with 15 hits in the game, to include 6 homers (the 1-5 hitters all had a HR)MLB The Show 20

Finnegan Finds a Home
Sox, Nationals Swing Deal
The Brandon Finnegan saga is over. The upset young starting pitcher was found a home that should make him feel better. The Nationals picked Finnegan up for their rotation along with infielder Alen Hanson and in return traded Corey Knebel, C J.J. Hardy, and LF Rico Hernandez.
For the Red Sox, Knebel continues an effort to shore up the bullpen. This likely will relegate Robles to AAA where he can try to figure out why his stuff plays down more than it should.
J.J. Hardy is a bit of a dark-horse prospect...but he might not stick at catcher either. His bat is likely major league quailty. The defense....not so much. That is something the Sox will work with him on at Pawtucket...and it might need a lot of work.
Rico Hernandez has fallen on hard times. He was a solid B prospect but now has dropped into the C range. Scouts were not pleased with him, obviously, and doubt he'll regain that former ceiling.

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
Finally was able to settle on a good roster and team for a fantasy draft. Ended up hoing with the red sox.
Lineup
LF Ichiro Suzuki
RF George Springer
DH David Ortiz
SS Carlos Correa
1B Greg Bird
3B Adrian Beltre
C Yan Gomes
2B Chase Utley
CF Billy Hamilton
Bench
WB Jurickson Profar
LF Brandon Durry
C Austin Hedges
2B Ramiro Pena
Utley and Profar split time at 2b while Drury spells Ichiro when he needs it. Gomes gets a fee games at 1b to stay fresh and Pena is a decent utility player for me.
Rotation
SP Noah Syddergaard
SP Sonny Gray
SP CC Sabathia
SP Andrew Heaney
SP Henry Owens
Bullpen
LR Jack Peavy
RP Filipe Rivero
RP Carlos Torres
RP Henry Hayashi
SU Joe Nathan
SU Brad Boxberger
CP Glen Perkins
Top Prospects
SP Julio Urias
CF Byron Buxton
C Ryan Gallagher
SP Jasom Sutter
1B Tommy Joseph
C Rich Lovell
CF Mallex Smith
SP Felix Rosado
SP Rick Malloy
CF Ken Micklus
C Emil Ojeda
I'm about 2 weeks into the season but will update at the end of April.

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
I changed his name to J.J. Synder that's what the random re-naming device (read: some dice) came up with.
No, the real Hardy isn't in the league anymore."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment
