I'll stick with this. Really liked my old team, but I figured if I was only gonna play one franchise and invest a lot in it, it might as well be with my favorite team.

My thoughts exactly, hence going with the Cubs.

I can't seem to pitch well with the classic pitching style. I even went in the megathread for it and no luck. Should I just switch back so I'm
Comfortable? Or is there a tip to it?

I use the meter, tap the pitch, hit x than x again. Idk the name of that one but it's one of the metered ones

Haha crazy enough, it's called "Meter"

I used to always use that one, gonna go back to it. Armor sliders call for the other kind which is why I ask

Classic is very ratings oriented, which is why I love it.

It takes the "am I getting good with the game" factor out of it. With Classic, there's little I can do to stop Marmol from being inconsistent or breaking a slumping pitcher out of it. I either have to ride it out, try to use pitch selection/location (and hope he can do it) or make moves and hope to get a better guy.

To me, that's a lot like baseball.

Gotcha. I dig that. Are there any tips to maximizing accuracy and all that?

I might draft another team using the Red Sox.

I won't start over with the Rockies - team is interesting, though.

And I agree, you should switch to your team, especially if you're gonna continue this thing. The hardest part for me was trying to NOT draft every astro available. After I took Correa, keuchle was available, so tempting!! I'm way more excited about this team.

Harper Slugs Cardinals To A Win Spoils Pirates Opening Day

Bryce Harper Hit A 2R Bomb In the Top of 10th

April 2016 - The St Louis Cardinals came into PNC Park looking to start on the right foot. With Back In Black from AC/DC blaring through the PA speakers as the Pirates were being introduced Yordano Ventura warmed up in the bullpen intent on showing the league he is a number 1 Staff Ace. He did not disappoint. Dueling with Pirates Ace Jose Fernandez pitch for pitch and inning for inning Ventura logged 7 strong innings allowing just 1 ER on 9 hits 0 BB and 5 K's. The Cards found themselves down though 1-0 heading into the top of the 9th where the Pirates just became undone. M.Franco would K and with 1 out that brought up Brock Holt who singled to LC. Manager Mike Matheny then PR for Holt bringing in rookie sensation Jacob Herzberg. He is well known for his speed and baserunning and did not disappoint. He promptly stole second base for his first career steal in The Show. Then Matheny PH for catcher AJ Pierzynski with veteran Suzuki Ichiro. And the old man came through ripping a single into RC scoring Herzberg from second and we had a tie game. Marmol held down the Bucs in the bottom half of the 9th. On to the top of the 10th CF Inciarte led off with a base hit, steal second and get to third on a passed ball and Star in the making Francisco Lindor would rip a single to bring him home for a 2-1 lead. Lindor would end up going 4-5 in his Cardinal debut. Next number one pick and franchise player Bryce Harper would step in (0-3 with a K at this point) and on the first pitch from Rob Wooten he would hit a mammoth shot over the right field wall (I used the power swing too!!) to give the Cards a commanding 4-1 lead. Betantes would pitch a scoreless bottom half and the Cards win to spoil the Pirates opening day. Carlos Marmol would get the win in relief.

The Cardinals have a day off and then continue in Pittsburgh tonight.

The game can be replayed on my Twitch channel. Enjoy!

I can't seem to draft a team I like once I see it in a lineup. Anyone else get this? What's everyone's approach going into the draft, looking at everything as a whole

I get a notepad, write out a blank rotation, lineup, bench spots, and bullpen. After each pick I write it down in the respective spot. Really has worked wonders for me to visualize how the team is being built.

I also write down another 25 picks. (Prospects / minors depth) just to really build my team the way I see fit.) so long as you stay reasonable, makes for an enjoyable draft / playing experience.

Ready to get off work so I can get down with the stros!!

I think I'll keep the Rockies team as they are an interesting bunch. But instead of playing a real Red Sox, do a fantasy one.

That will give me a real Nats, carryover Marlins, and fantasy Red Sox and Rockies. That should carry me this year.

                                Yeah, I get that.

What I usually do is keep an Excel sheet open when drafting. That way I can keep track of my rotation and bullpen, possible line-ups against RHP and LHP. This allows me to have a good mix of righties and lefties (both pitcher and hitters) along with a pretty balanced line-ups against both. Also helps me keep a balance between veterans and younger player (though I'm still leaning heavily towards young players).

Speaking of which, why on earth didn't they add a potential column to the Fantasy Draft. God I hate having to press triangle in the later rounds to find some gems I know nothing about. I know, most of you probably do know who to target, but given how The Show comes with a bunch of fictional minor league players, you would think a potential column would make sense.

                                Oh well.
