So went ahead and got the draft set up. I get the number one pick. I've had the #3 and #2 picks the past two drafts. Should I exit and restart to switch things up?

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
Rockies Swing a Pair of Trades
Looks like the front office is trying to get the pitching in order for the team to have a foundation to move forward with.
To that end, the team picked up a pair of pitchers to help out now.
The first trade involved sending Yordano Ventura to the Braves for closer Jeurys Familia, and a starter prospect Zach Eflin and a struggling-but-capable reliever in Nick Vincent.
Familia, 26, gives the Rockies are true back-end ace that features a heavy, and hard, sinker, something the Rockies wanted to make sure to bring more of given where they play.
Vincent has a nearly 8 ERA, but should be far better than that. He's got strikeout stuff and should be able to change speeds effectively. He'll be in the major league bullpen.
Eflin is a middle-of-the-road prospect that has significant weaknesses but some upside. He might develop good command and has good velocity, but he'll have to learn how to pitch, not just throw pitches.
The second trade was with the Mariners and brought in another sinkerballer, this time for the rotation, in Tanner Roark. The Rockies swapped catcher prospect Christian Betts, relief prospect Nick Bundi, and 1B Matt Olson.
It may seem like quite a bit, but Betts is very raw and the team has other catcher prospects farther along, not to mention Sanchez and Vazquez. Bundi is a decent prospect, should be useful eventually. Matt Olson had a hot start but still needs development. With Greg Bird around and Gallo more than likely being moved to 1B at some point in his career, Olson was expendable now. Plus a 1B could be taken in the draft.
The Rockies send RP Derek Law and SP Tyler Glasnow down to AAA. Urias will join the rotation full time while Reyes will head to the bullpen, where he might end up full time as well.

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
OKAY.
I went with the Cubs, and picked 23rd. I went with a more pitcher first approach, including in the pre season with some acquisitions (all fair) for prospects etc.
Lineup:
1. Dee Gordon
2. Xander Bogaerts
3. Nelson Cruz
4. Brandon Belt
5. Jorge Soler
6. Mike Moustakas
7. Yasmani Grandal
8. Pitcher (oh, Joe!)
9. Juan Lagares
Bench:
-Carlos Ruiz
-Tommy La Stella
-Tyler White (R)
-Abraham Almonte
Also have Judge and Berrios in AAA.
Starting Pitching:
-Dallas Keuchel
-Noah Syndergaard (1st pick)
-Carlos Carrasco
-Jose Quintana
-Aaron Nola
I had no issue trading for better starting pitching and removing some great prospects because we the Cubs want to win now. It's been too damn long. We also have a weaker bullpen so needed better starters who can go the distance.
Opening day begins....NOW!!

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
I have an awful time getting walks. So I simply put the controller down on the first pitch. And don't pick it up until I get atleast 1 strike, than I guess a specific pitch and zone, and if t doesn't lock in, I don't swing. Basically I do nothing until I have 2 strikes. Has helped me out a lot.MLB The Show 20

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread
Contemplating doing a new draft. I picked the Reds because I was going to do a real franchise with the Astros, and the more immersed in the chise, the less I think I will be playing two franchises. That being said, and the thought of doing this long term, I am strongly considering starting from scratch with my Houston Astros. Any thoughts on a redraft?MLB The Show 20

Well I did it, started from scratch, with my Astros. There's a familiar face or two (Jake peavy, Todd Frazier, Trevor Gott and Nick Hundley) I drafted Utley again, but traded him and others to the Padres for Jed lowrie. Just a teaser but my first 5 picks were Correa, Snydergaurd, Frazier, McCullers, and Gardner. I had the 29th pick. More to come later today.MLB The Show 20

Houston Astros Dynasty Draft
After some thinking, I decided to dump my other franchise and just do one with my favorite team. Here's my projected 25 man with lineup / rotation & with a few prospects as well as the round I drafted each player in. (Had the 29th pick)

BULLPEN
CP Ken Giles (8)
SU Hunter Strickland (7)
SU Jason Grilli (17)
MRP Trevor Gott (12)
MRP Tim Collins (20)
MRP Chris Withrow (26)
LRP Dillon Gee (38)
LINEUP
LF Brett Gardner (5)
RF Trace Thompson (14)
SS Carlos Correa (1)
1B Greg Bird (11)
3B Todd Frazier (3)
DH Tyler White (19)
2B Jed Lowrie (Trade)
C Nick Hundley (9)
CF Austin Jackson (10)
BENCH
C James McCann (15)
OF Michael Taylor (21)
IF Charlie Culberson (16)
UTL Brock Holt (23)
PROSPECTS
SP Zach Lee (27) A
CF Clint Frazier (28) A
SP Grant Holmes (29) B
SP Braden Shipley (30) B
3B Kaleb Cowart (35) C
CF Matt Lipka (60) C
CP Matt Bush (55) C
These last two were once heralded, so I took a flyer on them. Lipka is younger, but I couldn't pass up Matt Bush the reclamation project!
Focused a lot more on reliever depth and a few journeyman starters. Really looking foward to playing this tonight, and onward into next year! What do you guys think about the team?Last edited by J_smith2190; 04-29-2016, 09:07 AM.MLB The Show 20
