Kelby Tomlinson is the man! Only guy on my bench I feel comfortable putting in @ ss/2b/3b and not worry about any range issues or errors. Good contact, young enough to continue to develop. Definitely outplays his ratings.

I deal with it, hah. Not the worst thing. The A.I. Kind of adjusts, and I have noticed the teams with ten million MRP on the 25, they have gotten more normal as the season / injuries progress.

Fresh off a 3 game sweep of the nats that included a 9-3, 4-3, and 8-1 victory the Reds are feeling good going into their day off. Having won 6 straight, and there last 5 series. Jake Peavy takes the mound against Steven Matz and the Cardinals. Facing 3 lefty starters in a row, Greg bird will see action in atleast 2 of this 3 game set.

I drafted 40 rounds then simmed the rest.

@ J_Smith Jake Peavy giving you some quality innings there! Your hitting the crap out of the ball too. Your Team BA looks insane.

Peavy has been a real gem, especially now that Hamels is down. Something about that circle change of his, kills guys. (Also helps that he's batting .321 seems like if I don't sac bunt he likes to swing it) He gave up a 3r hr in the 3rd, but I'm pretty sure I'll get another QS out of him. A lot of my ba involves me platooning most of my players, but whatever works right? Ha

What looked to be a sure thing victory wound up a heart breaking defeat. Peavy left in the 6th with a 5-3 lead, Duke & Gott shut it down and handed it over to Casilla for the save. Coming in Casilla was a perfect 25 for 25 in saves chances. All that changed tonight, as Eric hosmer hit a 2run hr to tie the game. Alvarez came on in the 10th, and let the game get away as the cardinals scored 6 runs, to win the game 11-5. Next up Jake Thompson (2-0 3.29) vs Edwardo Rodriguez (4-5 3.34)

Another loss. Jake Thompson pitched effectively going 7ip 7h (6 in the first 2 in) 2bb 8k. The bats were quieted as Rodriquez pitched 7.1ip of 5h ball striking out 8 walking none and only allowing 1 run. The bats were pretty quiet in a 3-1 loss. Looking to bounce back with Sonny Gray (8-3 3.18) on the mound against Hector Santiago (3-5 4.55).

These last two i QC. Most of the time though I just write down key stats from a game on a pad, and I'll update them accordingly. Yesterday and today were days off for me so (and I wake up super early unfortunately) so I just binge play all day.

Re: Official MLB The Show 16 Fantasy Draft Franchise Progress Thread

Thanks a lot for all the info guys, I'm new to the show this year and will be doing my real fantasy draft tonight. I've done a few dry runs and looked at your teams and it seems really easy to stack a team with solid prospects. Since I hope to play more than 1 season, I want to make sure I'm not overpowered in year 2-3.

I looked online and the average age of MLB teams is 28 years old. I plan to make sure that the average age for every 5 rounds is 28 years old until round 30. For example, if the age of my first 4 picks is 25-25-28-28, my 5th pick would need to be 34 years old or more to get my 28 years old average. I would start again with the 6th pick...

Any other suggestions to achieve balance?

                      Thanks!

Just be reasonable would be the best bet haha. I tried to mix in some early 30's guys, with older vets (Nick Hundley, chase Utley, Kelly Johnson, Santiago Casilla) to go along with a few younger players. I went the mode of trying to model my team after a what I felt would be realistic in real life. Think it's worked out well

Well I finally did a fantasy draft that I am happy with. My first pick was Paul Goldschmidt, then went Zimmermann and Corbin for the next two picks. I will post the full roster when I get home, but I am really happy with it.

Sonny Gray helped avoid the sweep, on the strength of a CG shutout - 9IP 4H 8K. Trevor story and drew Stubbs both had solo hr's that were enough to win the game, a 2-0 final.

Just looked at the trade block...the royals who are in the wc lead with a 34-26 record, have Dallas Keuchel and Nolan Arrenado on the block. And the braves , also in the wc hunt 1gb, have Byron Buxton on the block. Really hoping none of these guys are traded and it's more of a "blow us away" reason they're on the block. Anybody else seeing these types of things on the block?

The Matheny Manifesto Spring Training Report

March 2016 - Mike Matheny's Cardinals have had a spirited spring. The team assembled under the guidance of GM Michael Sword has had it's share of excitement and position battles. Matheny has been mixing in several different starting pitchers to go along with staff ace Yordano Ventura and rising star Kenta Madea. Carlos Rodon has been up and down thus far, Jason Hammel has been solid, but youngster Steven Matz has had a challenging spring. Chi Chi Rodriguez and Daniel Norris have made strong impressions to crack the rotation. Matz may see some time in AAA to sharpen his game and hope for a call-up later on in the season. Carlos Rodon also needs to impress in his next spring start. As far as the bullpen it looks pretty set with the exception of a long reliever/spot starter which may come down to Rodon, Norris, Rodriguez and Matz with 2 of them making the rotation and one being kept on for long relief and some spot starts. It seems the top three spots have been secured by Ventura, Madea and Hammel.

Bryce Harper is hitting the cover off the ball as is Starling Marte and Francisco Lindor. Gregg Bird has shown some real pop and the team is also expecting big things from Maikel Franco. Brock Holt is proving to be invaluable as a "Johnny on the Spot" player with the ability to fill in just about everywhere on the field. 18 year old sensation Jacob Sword is also making quite the impression at both SS and CF, but will be hard pressed to find playing time in year one. Expect Sword to be sent down to AA ball to get plenty of AB's as the starting SS down on the AA farm. Look for Tyler White to join Ichiro, Moncada, Avila and Buxton on the bench. Injuries could open the door for other prospects to get some PT though. So Sword, Winkler and Judge could see some time up in The Show in year 1.

The final cut down to 25 will happen tomorrow. And Opening Day is just 2 days away in Pittsburgh.
