Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
Opening Day 2016 is a perfect example of how weather impacts the MLB world.
Here is to hoping that SCEA will soon take seriously how postponements, cancellations, precipitation, wind, and temperature all impact the game of baseball on a weekly basis.
These variables not only impact the games that are played in such conditions, but also those that are not able to be.Comment

I need more Captains to give me Missions so I can score 15 runs with players under 5' 10" tall so I can earn Tickets to get Stubs to buy a fake Elbow Guard for my fake player.
Who needs rain outs?Comment

I don't get why anyone would want to deal with rainouts. You want to play 4 innings of a game and then lose all your stats cus it rains. Why, so you can play a double header sometime in the future?Comment

2. It's realistic and has a huge impact in baseball
I'm just afraid that they will add it but not get it right or just create more bugs in the game like we are seeing this year.Comment

The fatigue and basically having to skip a guy in your rotation is a thing.Comment

I don't get a lot of things that others want, especially things that are not in real baseball, but yet we have them. A lot of us would like to have to deal with postponements and cancellations and work our player's fatigue around it. Setting up and managing your pitching rotation and staff is a vital part of baseball and mother nature has been disrupting these things since the beginning of the sport.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
Struck out the side on nine pitches in my first and only game, probably the first time I've done that in 300-plus games dating back to MLB12. Interesting thing was it happened in the bottom of the eighth with the Royals' Ventura vs. the Indians. He had made 100 pitches and I was getting the "Ventura getting tired" message. Liked how the commentators mentioned the possibility of fanning the side on nine pitches after I struck out the first two hitters on nine pitches.
But ......... I lost the game 1-0 because I had several runners fail to advance, including a couple of sure runs, due to the auto-base-running glitch (I can't get the hang of manual base-running -- and I shouldn't have to).
So I can't play this great game again until this nonsense is patched. It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

The following response is not going to help, but a suggestion is to control both teams if you have two controllers. Walk two batters intentionally, and practice stealing and base running. Left stick towards the base followed by corresponding base icon. If you only have a single controller, intentionally walk two runners and then switch sides.
Yes, they should fix autobase running, but also try to get as much out of the game since you already have it.Comment

So apparently although playing HRD always generates a daytime setting, it randomizes whether or not the roofs of certain stadiums are closed. Sadly, the roofs don't have any collision detection mapped to them.
I guess that shouldn't be too much of a bother, since hitting roofs in real life would for the most part be impossible, but in this game it is definitely "possible." The other things is stadiums like Minute Maid Park have glass that cover left field when it closes, yet the ball goes right through it in game.
Small thing that would have been a nice touch.
On another note entirely, I hit the glove at AT&T Park on a bounce. Just knowing that you can actually "hit" it is really cool. Hoping someday I can hit that, or the coke bottle, on a fly. I'll go ahead and say I think I did hit the coke bottle on a fly, but it's hard to kind of determine given the view I had, and no real replay to speak of.
I am not sure but I think if you play a game with rain and then play a HRD that you will get rain in the HRD.Comment

Does that trigger night time HRD as well?
EDIT: It worked! It got me nighttime HRD. Thanks so much! Roof stayed open for some reason, but it's cool.Last edited by Blzer; 04-05-2016, 02:10 AM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

hit my first walkoff homerun with Matt Carpenter. Granted it was Spring Training still, but that didn't stop me from celebrating.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: MLB The Show 16 Has Officially Arrived, Post Your Impressions Here
I played a Play Now game in April at 7 P.M. at o.Co, man was it smooth! Smoothest gameplay I've had so far playing this game. Very little if any frame rate drop or stuttering. Then again, its a pretty plain park and not many fans were in the stands. I wish the gameplay was that smooth at every park I play at. So for those of us having frame rate and stutter issues, it has to be a combination of what park you're playing at and what time, maybe even the weather too that is one thing I haven't really messed around with yet. I'm loving the game as always but man if I could somehow get that smooth gameplay in every park, I would be in heaven.Comment
