I guess Plesac will be the first time the Show gets commentary from a pitchers perspective.
And I cant remember the last time any game had a former pitcher on the commentary crew.If ever?

The story aspect will still be there. Kirby spoke specifically about allowing HR and DP ad-lib and tell stories about different players, since they know them just as well as anyone.

They're doing what they can with what they have and the people that are there.

That's all I ask, and thank you very much. This game has actively gotten massively better (literally night and day) between MLB 15 and MLB 17. I don't get why they are so honor-bound by the style guide being wrong, but it's been explained multiple times that the style guide is the law. Whatever the jerseys look like in the 'real world' means absolutely nothing to the work of SSDS. The style guide is what matters. You've got to get your head in that space. It took me awhile too.

But they are trying, and that's what I ask.

        It's literally -- a whole new ballgame.
I will defend some of those who obsess over the uniform colors. I think your comments are somewhat misplaced. If SDS didn't do all the things you listed, would you buy the game? Probably not. SDS has to do these things to keep the game fresh and give people a reason to purchase their product each year. So they are not really doing you a favor they are doing it so you buy the game. There are some folks who are over the top about uniform colors (and other things), but I don't think it is because they hate the game. Quite the opposite: It is because they love the game. And they want it to be as close to real life as possible, particularly as it relates to your favorite team. Think of it like SDS made your favorite player green and 200 lbs heavier than he is. Would you say no big deal or would you be unhappy, particularly if you had to play 162 games with your favorite player appearing that way? Well..the folks who obsess over the uniforms feel the exact way. For instance, I never payed any attention to the height of the uniform numbers for years although people complained every year. But for some reason this year I started paying attention. Now I see IRL the uniform numbers are much higher. So when I play the game now, I can't stop paying attention to it because now they loook weird being so low. Will it stop me from playing the game? Of course not. But if it entirely killed your experience, it might.

One final example: I play with autobaserunning. If you recall, it was broken upon release. Those who played manual baserunning said to us auto folks what's the big deal? But when SDS released a patch, the manual folks complained because now the manual was bugged. The autobaserunning was never fully fixed last year (I hope it is fixed this year) but my point is for those who like manual baserunning, it was a deal breaker for them, which is why they complained so vigorously.

In short, the uniform folks don't hate the game. Just like those who don't want Matt V don't hate the game. They just want the best game EVER! And so does SDS.

p.s. Btw..although SDS goes by style guide they changed the colors of some unis after wrong colors pointed out. This means the artists apparently didn't have the exact colors as in style guide. There appears to be wiggle room.

Last year I played the season with the Sox and was disappointed that there was no difference in the sound regarding what part of the Green Monster the ball hit. Perhaps I played with the Sox one year too soon?
I requested this very thing a while ago in the stadium feedback threads for 17 a long with a video showing how it should sound.

Hopefully it made it in for all stadiums but especially for the Green Monster.

I wish they would cut down on showing the batter bat flip anamaton when they swing and miss.

It's still shown to much and they need to add more variety in this area.

In fact I ask a Sony to remove or at least stop showing it so often like 2 or 3 years ago

I don't care whether someone wants to obsess over some obscure uniform detail unless SCEA in order to placate .0000001% of the fan base they assign more developer hours to it and take away developer hours from gameplay. By gameplay I mean in manage mode getting the game to play as close to MLB IRL as possible.

I'd rather have the players wearing parkas and snow skis with perfect gameplay than perfect uniforms and forced to spend weeks trying to figure out a slider set to get the game to play right.

You do realize that art and gameplay are two different areas of expertise? I don't think the uniform folks are saying I don't care about gameplay. As for manage mode, there are pure simulation baseball games. I am not saying that is what you should consider. My only point is apples to oranges.

And his batting stance was bad too, bat not resting on his shoulders, and he has a toe tap, hardly looks like his stance at all.

I noticed that as well. He looks exactly the same. Guess we'll have to wait for an actual side by side comparison before we know for sure.

That's not how game development works at all. The character team just works on faces (head-scans), bodies, uniforms, equipment and CAP. They have nothing to do with gameplay. And their work doesn't effect gameplay or the resources involved with it at all.

lol I can see the SDS office wastebaskets now, not getting emptied because the cleaning crew was too busy working on rosters and lineups.

I want to use theme 1 and 2 occasionally so MLBN will stay fresh but its going to be impossible to give up Showcast to do that.

This is why I'm glad that not all games in franchise mode will use the MLB Network presentation. It will stay fresh throughout the season.
