Look, there is no question in my mind that HDR and a wide color gamut is the best reason to own a new tv so you will not hear any opposition from me if you were to hit up rtings.com and start reading about new TVs.

You could try and switch HDMI ports, but yes you are probably SOL

I don't think you can manipulate that if you are using a tv with 2.0

This is the first time I've heard of an enhanced visuals mode on Pro requiring a newer hdmi port. Maybe I've just never run across the problem on my monitor so I wasn't aware.

I'm kind of confused why it's happening to Philly but maybe I'm just missing something

To use enhanced anything with the pro, your tv or monitor MUST be HDCP 2.2 capable. If you don't have that, then you wont get anything above 1080p and definitely wont have HDR

Most any tv past 2015 will have HDCP 2.2 compliant ports....at least one

And just to be clear, will my TV alert me if I do NOT have it hooked up correctly through a 2.2 cable and port? Sounds like that's what we're saying, but I want to be sure I'm understanding correctly.

Finally - is the HDMI that came with the PS4 Pro a 2.2 cable?

You will get an alert and it has to be a 2.2 port.

No such thing as a 2.2 cable..............its all about the port and you could use an HDMI for 3 or 4 years ago, doesn't matter. You will need to go into your PS4 settings and look at your sounds and screen..........or something like that. Then click the visual settings and it will tell you whether or not you are running 2160 or just 1080

You go buy it and then ask for forgiveness.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Yeah thats true I was just trying to see how much of a difference it is because I haven't seen on in action in person. But I plan on getting one.

                              If I only have a 1080 set, I assume I won't have a 2160 option?
