So if I get a pro and use it on a 1080p tv, I will get access to a higher framerate and the pro will down sample or super sample a 4k signal down to a 1080p signal? And does the down sampling increase the visuals?

I don't think we know for sure if HFR mode has downsampling or not.

I think the SCEA_Chris posted that the base mode on Pro has downsampling, but I dunno if that also is included with HFR mode as well. For 1080p displays and the Pro you may have to pick between stock framerate and increased image quality (base mode) or higher framerate and stock image quality (HFR mode).

This isn't official though, and nobody outside of SCEA knows for sure yet. We might just have to wait for GamingBolt, Nexus, DigitalFoundry, one of those sites to post a video breakdown

ANd yes, downsampling basically takes the internal resolution on the Pro, be it 1440p, 1800p, or 4k checkerboarding/native, and shrinks it down to your 1080p display, basically acting as increased anti-aliasing giving a sharper, cleaner imaque, reducing jaggies and shimmering, stuff like that

willis, how much shimmering are u seeing on the rails at stadiums such as progressive, comerica, and guaranteed rate? i am hoping it's reduced on the pro.

I doubt Digital Foundry would take a look at a sports game in detail. They barely covered NBA 2K17 and that's because it was one of the first PS4 Pro games. And they covered it like a month later.

After double checking this at comerica, I did not notice any shimmering on the railings. Must have been 16 I was thinking of

yeah those 3 had the most shimmering on the rails in last year's version, in day games i should add.

I could've had this game tonight. I know longer buy physical copies and pre ordered the show digital on PSN, but I'm kinda jealous of all the guys playing this and having a blast. I'm used to being one of the ones getting this game early every year lol. Enjoy guys...

It is a certified 1000 nits for true HDR 10 quality.

I know this isn't the right place but I'm thinking the chances of someone knowing here are greater than anywhere else because Google knows nothing.

For any other KS8000 users, does it appear that the TV and PS4 are linked to where if you turn one on or off the other turns on or off automatically? I know that sounds like a great thing but I hate it and I don't know how to disable it. I have my XB1S connected the same way and it does nothing of the sort so it's ONLY the PS4 doing it.

under the settings on the ps4 there is a setting

go settings/system and enable device link might be turned on
