Is the high frame rate mode a solid 60fps at all times? Can anyone confirm?

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
I have a 55 inch lg 4k tv and honestly it looks better than my older 1080 p tv but its not a mind blowing massive improvement. From what ive read you really need to buy a 4k tv over 65 inches to really see a difference with 4k or sit clise to a smaller tv which im not going to do. So from everything ive read size does matter. Lol
My parents have a samsung 9000 65 inch 4k HDR tv so im going to take my pro there once the show comes out and ill know for sure. I think anyone telling you 4K is mind blowingly better wants to believe that and also probably wants to justify the money they spent.
I think the real key is the PS4 pro and if people are thinking of upgrading but on a budget should start there. The pro is the key to the real important thing, the framerate. And also they seem to have optimized other things that i dont think youll notice too huge a difference between the 4k and 1080.
HDR on the other hand seems like the game changer. I am excited to see it on my parents tv and then if its as cool as ive read ill probably upgrade again.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

I actually dont know because i dont have HDR but im saying the pro makes the difference in fifa and that he forsure will see improvements because he has a pro and a 4k tv and ya HDR would be better but he will still get benefits even without it. Fifa on a pro is the game i first really noticed the benefits.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
You know.. as much as I want HDR and the best possible graphics, give me high framerate mode all day long with a game like this. I've always wanted nothing but silky smooth gameplay with The Show.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
I am literally right on the fence about buying a 4K TV now for this game. I have a Pro and planned on getting a 2017 Samsung model for when RDR2 was released. Now with this info, it is really making me want to purchase a HDR 4K like now. But then I hear the picture quality is even better for gaming on the 2017 models.
Just wondering how much of a dramatic difference it will realistically make. Will the Pro upgrade in picture on my 1080 be enough? Guess I will wait until the fellow OS'ers give their reviews.PS5Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
Why rush and spend $1,000+ (if you want the best experience in a 55"+ you won't find it cheaper) when you'll still gain the benefits with a 1080p and wait to catch a big sale? No need to cheap out as the benefits without some main features won't render much difference than what you got now.
If you have the free cash, go for it, but I'm in the same boat and I've decided to wait for a sale as it's not going to be life changing going from 1080p to 4K. I'm more of a framerate guy, however.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
That was my whole point. Will the difference be that great in making an upgrade to a HDR 4K TV? If you have a Pro and a nice 1080 TV, is it ultimately a waste of the Pro's potential to NOT go 4K?
Like I said, I'm probably going to wait for the 2017 Samsung models.

MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
Now is the perfect time to buy a TV as the new models just rolled out. Sure you can wait but you can also spend a lifetime waiting for prices to get lower and technology to get better.
I made the change to a Samsung ks850d a few weeks ago and I have zero regrets. Each day I wake up eager to turn on the tv like it's Christmas!!

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
I'm asking which TV you have because it really depends on the TV. On some TVs, 4K has lower input lag, while on other TVs, 1080p has lower input lag. On some TVs, turning on HDR doesn't change input lag, but on others HDR makes input lag worse.
For example, my Vizio P65 has a 1080p input lag on HDMI 1-4 of 50.8 ms and a 4K input lag on HDMI 1-4 of 43.8 ms. HDMI 5 has an input lag of 16.3 ms regardless of resolution. HDR is only available on HDMI 1-4, but input lag stays the same whether it is on or off.
You can find a lot of this technical information about most TVs over at http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews. They also provide calibration settings for every TV they have reviewed, however these calibrations are not really meant for playing video games. More for TV and movie viewing.Last edited by Kevin82485; 03-17-2017, 12:18 PM.Green Bay Packers

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
Sony is bringing HDR support to all of it's new 1080p TVs. So you don't have to shell out 4K money just to get HDR support. http://www.techradar.com/news/sony-i...s-will-benefit
That's great because hdr is maybe just as great as 4k I think

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
My greatest curiosities that still remain are:
- What FPS is the HFR mode?
- How much would Boost mode enhance these Pro options, and in what regards does that help assist things?
The real disadvantage to 4K here is the framerate. If you're locked at 30 FPS, the main question becomes whether or not you are okay with that kind of framerate.
HDR won't take a framerate hit, but it may put some input lag on your TV set (some don't have this issue). I can't imagine HDR being an end-all approach though if your set isn't professionally calibrated. That's the only time I would really say that HDR is a go-to for everything.
This isn't a push-or-shove comparison, though. You can have HDR enabled or disabled whether or not you are using 4K. Or are you trying to find out what kind of TV to purchase based on this info here?
