MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro

Well damn, I guess I'll join the party since everybody else is posting their pics. Haha Bought this baby yesterday to pair with my 4K TV. Wish it had HDR, but oh well. I think I'll live.

I'm so jealous of you all. Being a college kid on a budget doesn't allow me to drop this kind of money on new toys. Soon though!

Damn I didn't think ps4 Pro was going to have a high frame rate mode. If I had known, I might have budgeted to get one. Getting higher/more consistent framerates is all I really care about. I'll see how 17 runs on my regular old boring PS4 before considering the upgrade though. I really don't want to spend the money.

Just recently finished playing Horizon: Zero Dawn, and my ONLY complaint was that I wish it had been at a higher FPS. Phenomenal game btw.

The Frame rate increase n how much nicer infield throws to first was the biggest eye opener. Batting wise the ball comes out the pitchers hand more smoothly to track the pitch a ball or strike. Can't wait till MLB 17!
Agreed. I'm playing some RTTS on it right now with Boost Mode enabled and everything looks so much smoother. Framerate improvement for sure.

Yeah man I'm super excited. Granted the chances I use 4K is slim. I'm more interested in the high frame rate mode. But 4K will definitely be used if it's not super choppy. So excited!

Pretty cool that The Show has sold some Pros already on here. I wonder if we will see the same movement when/if Madden announces their Pro features down the line?

Anyway, hope you guys are happy with your purchases.

Super curious to see what the frame rate in each rendering mode ends up being. DF will be over that analysis as soon as they get the game I bet

The main question would be whether I would plan on trading in my current PS4 in favor of one, or picking up a Pro in addition to the PS4 that I have.
I have a PS Slim that I didn't want to get rid of because it was new, I had just traded my og vanilla PS4 for the Slim.

So I got the PS4 Pro to go along with my Slim. One in the bedroom, other in living room.

I would have thought that the main game should have solid 60fps this year

I already have that setup for my PS3's.

I just don't think it's time for me to get a Pro. Maybe someday... maybe after I see what The Show does with it.

I told myself early on I wasn't going to do it. My love for The Show made me do it. Haha. I couldn't bring myself to play this without getting at least some benefit from the Pro.

Are these options on startup for the pro version or in settings?

I'm beginning to think we'll need a Graphics impressions thread separate from the normal impressions thread. In which, everyone will need to post what combination of equipment they are using.

                              PS4 version: Standard/Pro
TV type: 720p/1080p not HDR capable/1080P HDR capable/4K
TV size: 40 in, 46 in, 50 in, etc.

Even if you leave 720p out of the comparison, there are still 6 combinations of hardware. Then throw in the different visual modes available on the Pro and things are going to get confusing very quickly...

I personally have 60" 1080p w/no HDR feature. So I have no interest in getting a PS4 Pro unless the "Enhanced Visuals" mode or "High Frame Rate" mode are found to be hugely noticeable upgrades (which I'm guessing will be very subjective as to what "hugely noticeable" means to each individual).

I'm in the same boat. I'm going to call around various vendors to see who is going to demo the game, on a pro + 4k HDR setup, then make a trip and see in the flesh...and base my upgrading decisions from there.
