Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
I got mine for like $15 way back when. Save your cash and let me just ship you mine.
I used to use it to check out some of the demo material, but it's not the same kind as in-store where they highlight the best films and show before/after on DVD and Blu-ray. It's more scenery demos. Not as beautiful as a Disney WOW 4K disc would be, though.
Only reason I ever use it now (outside of re-calibration) is for the pixel flipper.
As for HDR calibration, there is no HDR standard for studios who grade their films, so there is no real "basis" to calibrate from. I'm sure you can get generally more accurate, but it seems that kind of thing would be tough to deal with as a "set it and forget it" kind of thing.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I think we are thinking like that because of the damned slider that is in MLB The Show 17 LOL.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
Does anyone have a problem with the game seemingly randomly getting dim at times? I have the Samsung 8500. Eco settings are off. I can't tell if it's my TV, or a bug, or simulating cloud cover or something.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
Do you have HDR+ turned on in the tv settings under special viewing mode? If so turn that off and put it in game mode and that should fix it. It fixed mineComment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Supports 4K & HDR on PS4 Pro
I input the settings you're using, with HDR at 30.... Stunning results. I'm going to continue messing around with the HDR slider between 25-40 till I find the "perfect" notch but I'm super happy this TV plays The Show in HDR so well.

I don't have HDR+ on but I'm in movie mode. I'll try game mode - thanks!Comment

Question for others: how red is the Redsox red jersey? What I mean: is it a brighter red or a darker red on your screen? That's the only thing I cannot tel if it's correct but all my reds look great it might just be the way their jersey is and I'm not realizing it.Comment
