Yeah that's why I leave the HDR slider and that entire menu untouched. I don't like the hassle of restarting the game.

What I don't understand is how this game isn't 1440p at 60fps using 4k checkerboard? This is a first party title and you have NBA2K17 running native 4k 60fps on the pro. Not to sound negative but that's a bit disappointing.

NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.

I know, it's pretty surprising to me as well. I'm hopeful that it's resolved and we can play full 4K sometime soon.

Well I bought a Samsung 55" QLED Q7 tv and will pick it up Thursday to replace my 55" Sony 700D. I am very excited and can't wait to see how truly beautiful The Show 17 is on the new Sammy!!

I thought Enhanced Visuals runs at 1440p, if I remember correctly from the dev video, just a tad below 60fps though. Definitely smooth enough though.

But to be fair, NBA2k17 only has to render the inside of the arena and 15,000 fans while most of the action is focused on the players. The baseball stadiums are much larger with cityscapes in the background, dynamic lighting, grasses, and a bunch of other fine details, not including about 40,000 fans.

Honestly I haven't tried 4k on the game yet. I went straight to enhanced mode and I love it.

Besides I didn't want to try 4k now that I'm not used to the smoothness. I'd probably love the resolution but then when I play I'd groan like Ted the lawyer from "Scrubs" when his pen leaked in his shirt pocket, lol.

The graphics engine they are using is seemingly terribly outdated. The jagged edges in motion even in enhanced graphics mode are really jarring. Also in RTTS, when you are fielding or on base, framerate dips to like 10FPS when the pitcher is in motion.

I have a PS4 Pro, and Samsung KS8000 65" tv. Was hoping this game would "blow me away". While it does look good, it doesn't look much better than years past honestly. I have everything set up correctly too. Used RTING's website game mode on HDR mode on, everything set up on the PS4 settings, and the show in game settings too and I was a little let down. I have not played NBA 2K series in about 10 years but seeing many videos The Show needs to step up the graphics to that level.

Just look at games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted 4 on the Pro.. its certainly capable of jaw dropping graphics.

I disagree with you Paris. If you pay close attention the textures aren't that good in MLB the show compared to NBA2K17. The grass looks like green carpet among other things I've noticed. The game is a nice looking game, but after going back and forth NBA2K17 looks better and is actually running native 4k 60fps with HDR, and is made for multiple consoles.

It's just disappointing that a first party title like MLB the show is running 4k at like 20fps and enhanced which is 1440p and not at 60fps. I agree with Metallidevils that the graphics engine seems outdated in this game. NBA2K17 is moving at a faster pace and has all players on the floor moving while doing different things and the textures are a lot higher. FIFA 17 runs native 4k 60fps while showing even more fans in the background. The next madden is right around the corner and I wouldn't be surprised if it'll also be native 4k 60fps..

Yeah it sucks it can't do 60fps in 1440p. I want to keep it in that setting, but I just can't deal with the inconsistent frame rate. I went to high frame rate mode and sticking with that.

And the HDR thing is a mess. Hopefully we can get some definitive details about how to get that working correctly for everyone.

I've been curious as to others thoughts on this. I was enhanced mode from the jump because 4k was horrible for me but a few days ago I switched to high frame rate and left it. Last night I switched back to enhanced visuals and ugh, Couldn't do it. It can't be even close to 60 fps. Tack on the constant hitching in between transitions and it's just not that great. I just don't see that big of a difference graphically between 1080 and 1440 to justify it. To be honest I might not know what i'm looking for either. What is the big difference I should be seeing between 1080 and 1440? I read online someone said 1440 would have better colors but that made zero sense to me. I would love it if someone could point out a certain aspect that I would notice. Ex. The details on a players face. I think maybe if someone showed me it would click but as of now I just really don't see a difference.

I agree. This game on PS3 was stunning and 'next gen'. They took the same game and relied on pixel count to make it look better on PS4

The crowd must take up like 75% of the processing power. Give us an option to have low res crowds and improve the graphics in the rest of the game.
