In RTTS it seems that during your walkup, instead of showing your position, it shows what hand you bath with instead

Just some quick impressions! First off that intro, WOW!! . This is the best Show game in years. I mean I'm playing in 4K and HDR and this game looks incredible! Truly next gen!! Haven't movie much stutter with it on 4K mode and the HDR really pops! Gameplay is smooth as butter!! Commentary is great so far. Harold mentions Freddie Freeman's splits that he does to save ground balls!! I'm going to play more but do for this game is amazing. Great job by SDS and that entire team did amazing!

My thoughts are still formulating as I want to really sink into all the modes, and give it a fair and thorough impression/review. I want to let the new car smell sink in more and then really give it a clear assessment without the thrill.

Because right now? It's incredible and I will just gush like a giant fanboy LOL!!!

I need to play many games, modes and take it all in.

            Early impressions though?

GOAT sports game.......and it's not even close right now. They seriously slayed it this year.

We truly have a next gen baseball game with MLB 17 The Show. No if's, and's or but's.
It's nice to hear a glowing review like this, but then you see such glaring errors like the Tigers not having names on their road jerseys and wonder how it could possibly be one of the best sports games ever. Especially when they say they aren't fixing it as they "don't patch large art assets."

2 games in and loving this years game.
Love seeing the ball hit over fielders head or slicing away from the fielder. Love the DP animations also, smooth and crisp!

I have to learn to take better angles on balls hit down the line. Years past they would be outs, but this year I find my self chasing the ball and playing it off the wall...

This will for sure be my last response to any kind of post like this and I will certainly take a hiatus from this forum for a few weeks and stay away (other than the slider/roster and SOTS sections) from the general forum.....but I will simply say.....

When you grew up with the Atari 2600 like I did and played all those games as well as everything that came after.....I guess you just have a massively different perspective about video games.

I don't compute this way of looking at video games.

The game play is out of this world. The visuals and ball physics are unlike any I have ever seen on a console baseball game.

Sorry I did not notice a jersey error. I guess I am too busy having so much damn fun playing the most realistic baseball VIDEO GAME I have ever played in my life and over 38 years of playing console video games that I would let the name on the back of jersey make me so mad that I would poo poo this genuinely fine game which no doubt was labor of love for this development team.

You know it's OK to point out some mistakes and uniform omissions as well as gameplay issues. We all have them and there is a proper form and way to communicate it. In fact there is a thread for it. http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ns-thread.html

And yes a game can be the greatest Sports game of all time with uniform mistakes. But this snarky way of doing it? Jeez man.

It does not change the fact of how incredible this game plays the sport of baseball on the console and the accolades it no doubt will receive this year. It is a tremendous accomplishment of truly taking this game to the next level like we have been waiting for on the PS4.

We got it Shownation. We got "that" baseball game we all have been day dreaming about in terms of game play and simulation. Is it perfect? Of course not.

                  But damn......wow....what a freaking game.

There is something screwy with the eyes on CAP's.

My RTTS player is constantly going back and forth between old and new eyes, as I go in and out of the menu's on the Clubhouse hub. And I am seeing weird glitches where they eyes are moving around in the head going cross eyed.

I'm seeing enough in some quick franchise sims to say that complete game stats are fixed. Default sliders, on my 4th out of 5 sims no team had over 10 for the entire season. Boston, Washington, and Chicago all had 8. In all 5 sims, no team had over 15.

On default sliders, these numbers were almost guaranteed to be multiple teams over 20 CG's for the last 3 or 4 versions of this series. HUGE difference!

Trade logic in Franchise seems a bit wonky as Chris Archer has been traded 3 times to 3 different AL teams by the ASB, one of them being straight up for a guy named Yoan Moncada

100% agreed, and I am grateful for it.

BTW, one bizarre thing I do with every new version of The Show is go to a stadium and use replay to see if anything's changed outside the stadium. I only viewed AT&T Park last night but I didn't see much different there, maybe some revamped textures but it's hard to tell. Was hoping for the McCovey statue at McCovey Cove... oh well.

Hopefully we can still use the replay cam to get outside a few stadiums like we could last year.

seems like theres still way too many closers as Top 50 prospects
default roster has 14 of 50 as closers.
