Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A
To those who play a franchise as an NL team how many RP's should I have on my MLB team? I've started up a Pirates franchise and it's my first NL team. In my other franchise that I have been playing for a long time I manage the Rays and just keep 6 RP's which includes my closer and use that other spot for a position player.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A
I apologize of this has already been asked. I haven't played the show since ps2 and just wanted to know if you can play as minor league teams in franchise mode. Thanks in advanceComment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A
Yeah man, you can play your teams MLB, AAA, and AA games. Single A is pretty much a place holder for your rosters and is unplayable.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A
Has anyone ever had a trade forced on them or complete out of nowhere. I play 30 team control, the Mariners as my team full manual and the rest CPU full auto. I entered into a game for a critical situation and upon exiting a message popped up saying the Mariners trade Dyson to the Indians for Almonte, a trade a never initiated. I confirmed all my settings were correct and can't think of any other explanation.

MLB The Show 17 Q&A
I believe all you have to do is try to make a trade with a team and anything you offer will automatically go through. At least, that's how it was previously. I haven't used it this year.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A
I have a question on Dynamic Hitting and Pitching. I did before was go to exhibition and bump up my hitting sliders against a weak team to get me up to All Star Hitting and same thing with my pitching I try to get around All-Star/Hall of Fame. Well then I would switch back to All-Star and now I'm wanting to go back to Dynamic and it starts back to Beginner. So I go back to exhibition mode and I bump up the Dynamic Level to 10 to make it advance quicker and I would even play a Double A team so I can make it easier and faster. Now it seems like it takes forever. Does anybody else notice this or have any suggestions? I wish we could set where we want to start the level.Follow me on Twitch

Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A
As for what to offer him. If he had an excellent year, I would probably meet him in the middle and offer somewhere in the neighborhood of $5 - $7 million range. If he had an average year I would maybe offer $1 - $3 million range.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A
It's kind of cheating but try and get him to sign a contract where the expectation is lower then the likely reality. So for example, you're probably playing him in the star positions. If you can get him to sign a contract where the expectation is to be an everyday player, then it'll help compensate for any potential anger at money.Comment

That's great, I didn't know that, thanks!
It annoyed me that some players have expectations of being stars when their depth guys, or a AAA reliever who thinks he should be a closer.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A
What actually dictates the standings screen ratings? When your in franchise and you are looking at a team and it says Pitching 11th, Contact 10th, etc. My team in my franchise is 27th in contact and my buddies team is 3rd, but when I went through our lineups and bench our ratings are nearly the exact same. His team has slightly more power, but contact wise they are identical, yet it says we are 24 teams apart in ratings. It also said my pitching was 11th in the league despite having only Sonny Gray as my only pitcher on staff over an 80 overall. Then when I signed Brian Wilson my pitching immediately fell to 22nd in the league.
The reason I ask is we play only on Tuesday and Fridays and sim the other days in our franchise and right now my team has lost 18 straight games and been shutout in nearly half of them while his team is playing over .500 in the same span scoring 4-5 runs a game. Something just seems off. We're in August of our franchise and I've made some trades to bring in players and every single hitter that I've traded for had their average drop off 20 points once they became an Athletic. Inciarte was batting .330+ at the All-Star break, becomes and A and is falling towards .300. Tyler Flowers was batting .310 at the All-Star break, 1 month on my team he was a .255 hitter. Brock Holt was batting .320 at the break. Now he's a .280 hitter on my team.
Something seems to be causing my team to play below their ratings at the plate. Last I checked my hitting coach boosted every stat he affected, so I don't understand what the heck is going on. On the reverse, guys I traded away have all seen their averages rise since they were moved. Lowrie, Canha, etc. are all improving from .212 and .230 hitters to being in the .260-.270 range now.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
