I throw a low inside slider fairly often, and have only hit a batter a couple of times. I would not throw a high inside slider for fear of the homerun ball, but I'd imagine that has a higher risk to hit the batter (sliders loose some of their horizontal break when thrown up in the zone, so if you start a high pitch inside of the zone like you would a low pitch, it probably will not break enough to catch the zone, making it more likely to catch the batter. That applies to RHP vs RHB where the slider is supposed to run away from the batter. In the scenario where the slider breaks towards the batter, it may depend on your pitching interface. I remember in years past I used an interface that showed the "straight" destination without factoring in break. Throwing sliders with your 3/4 delivery starter then bringing in a sidearm reliever and using the same placement is one good way to hit batters

    Question on dynamic difficulty:
Does the game take the talent of your team into account?

I have a bigger problem with inside sliders being hit opposite field for homers, because, you know that happens all the time

Re: MLB The Show 17 Q&A

I have been called up once to The Mets and played from late in their season until their end and then requested to be switched to another MLB team where I was abruptly sent to the Brewers and basically pinched hit mostly (I was the best player in terms of batting average and saved them in games plenty). It was like I was being punished and the Brewers would not let me go but at the same time would not keep me as a regular daily field position player. They sent me to minors even when I was playing well and never let me play consistant games. Finally they just cancelled my contract and The Cubs picked me up after my great success in spring training. They too signed me with them a year and I played with Teneesee Smokies won the championship mainly on my shoulders and speed and batting and fielding. Then was told I have enough years in to become a free agent but no offers that I could see so went to spring training again (thought I could choose any team to try out for, but this did not happen) and The Cubs after my success in spring training offered me a contract 740000 $ a year or so but when I started with them I am back playing for the Tennesee Smokies again double AA ......I just think its a viscious cycle.

Ok, my questions: Am I just going to be in this cycle over and over. I want to play on a MLB team as a regular daily position player (not off the bench pinch hitter) I play right field.

If I said no to the only offer I had the last time after spring training what would happen then?

Is the key here in my fielding even over hitting?

Why, if I have proven myself a plenty in hitting and on base %, average and homers and even some good fielding am I just recycled and cant play on MLB team as regular?

Any advice? My guy is Dave Alan ( nick name Bones) I play Rookie Veteran and recently switching to All Star but not constantly just building my guy up.

In hitting built way up in power and contact......and speed and buiding more now in fielding and arm strength.

        I await your advice

PS Yes its just a PS4 game I know

Sorry if this is in the wrong area please place it where it belongs as I'm new to this forum. (I do not plan to be so wordy in the future for sure)

        Thank you

Why are tattoos so taboo in this game? The only major one I can think of off the top of my head that is included is King Felix's neck tattoo.

There are plenty of MLB guys show have tattoos and some guys have pretty predominant ones. Just wonder why they seem to be left out of the game.

The artists of the tattoos have the creative rights to the artwork. Having the Tattoos in any game without their expressed permission is a legal breach and opens those video games up to legal action. Obviously they want to avoid this. So no tattoos.

Makes sense. Even though it seems they could just put close representations and not exact copies of the tattoos to at least give a bit more realism.

              NBA 2K finds a way.

This and realistically moving hair and uniforms would give even more immersion IMO.

              But thanks for the explanation.

The effects are very minimal. Usually takes about a month or two to make a difference.

Mainly use it to accentuate a players strengths or help coddle a glaring weakness. Not a huge deal though.

Another tip: Speed, pitch velocity, and pitcher stamina can never be trained up, but they can be regained within a year where they see regression. Basically you can cancel out a -1 in an attribute if you train it, but once the season is over it's gone.

Play it with Daily Rosters and it would appear so.

Sorry if this has been covered but,....

Let's say Ian Happ was not origanally in the game at the start of the season. I'm currently on July 10th 2017 on my franchise. Is there any way to get him on my roster at this point?

Not without starting over with a roster that has him.

Sounds like you are using the Default Roster. If you really don't want to start over you could just rename and edit one of the Cubs generic players into Ian Happ. In franchise I'm pretty sure you can edit over everything except the contract. So just load the latest live roster copy down Ian Happs attributes and physical details then enter over whichever player you choose. Pick one that half looks like him and you will be golden.
