Do you reckon the Blue Jays accept a straight trade of BJ Upton for Colby Rasmus? Rasmus is paid slightly more, but they have a very right handed team and lack left handed power.

I have a hard time seeing the Yankees offer that much for a 30 year old outfielder coming off a down year with 2 years of control left.

Judge is a solid defensive right fielder, no need to move him down the spectrum at this point.
Yea i know, was just a thought. With Bird being injured a fair amount recently and with Austin, McKinney and Frazier coming uo, thought it might be a move to make

The problem is that the Tigers don't have much to work with trade wise. JD Martinez is good but I doubt one year of him can get Frazier. I don't think there's a deal to be made unless it was a bigger trade for Fulmer or something like that

Jays fan here, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Colby had a bit of a silly cult of personality here, but he's better than Melvin and likely wouldn't need a platoon with how right dominant we are. Even if he did, we could platoon him with Pearce, with Pearce shifting to 1st against RHP.

That is a massive overpay. Iglesias is amazing on defense, but his offense is average at best career wise. Probably a low B could get that done, not a top prospect.

Was never a proposed 1-1 deal. Was just asking if there was a deal to be made involving the two players

To get Christian Yelich would I be able to get away with trading two B prospects and a C?

No. There needs to be at least an A prospect involved. Yelich is really valuable

I guess i struggle to see giving up an A and two Bs because of the way the potential and ratings work this year with fewer players being put in that category.

And the Marlins would struggle to give up a 25 year old budding star on a cheap, long term deal for a package you feel comfortable giving up

Would Jose Iglesias to STL for Luke Weaver work? Or is that to much or to NYY for Bird and/or Dillon Tate

Use the Adam Eaton deal as your framework. A very good OF that's signed long term. But Yelich is a good bit younger and that helps his value.

so with that being said. What prospect or prospects could i trade Tanaka for to then flip them for Yelich?

It's hard to suggest moves like this because there's so many moving pieces. You have to find a competing team that wants Tanaka for only 17 since he will opt out after the season. You probably need to just bite the bullet and use the farm the Yankees have. It's one of the 3 best in baseball, you already have the pieces.
