It ALWAYS seems inflated. Alfonso Soriano's contract with the Cubs isn't bad with their dollar values, even though he was factually a letdown. On top of the projection there, it doesn't offer any consideration to injury or the emerging idea that players peak sooner than previously thought (I believe the last article I read on this partially attributed it to primes ending at younger ages as the Steroid Era came to an end). So, it could be that this is peak Yelich and he's actually seeing his WAR trend downward by the end of his contract (not to say he's bad at that point, just not still at his peak).
I agree with pretty much all of this which is why I think everyone thinks that Yelich is worth more than he is. He is great but he has pretty much reached his potential as MLB the show creators think as well.

Started a franchise with the Angels as I feel they're a very interesting team to work with. I was desperate to get rid of Pujols cause I really didn't wanna bother with struggles with age & contract.

Was able to get these deals (opinions?):

Pujols, Low-system A potential prospect to the Cubs for Kyle Schwarber (Rizzo got injured & out for the season)

Simmons, Shoemaker & Pennington to the As for Sonny Gray and Marcus Semien (I hate Simmons in the show series)

I realize these aren't exactly realistic as real-life options as I doubt the As would part with Semien, their project.

What do you guys think? Any other ideas that you've had maybe?
Ariel Miranda and Tyler O'Neill maybe? You may need to give up a low-system prospect with C or B potential. I may be a little biased towards O'Neill a fellow Canadian.

If you think he's already peaked then you don't trade for him. He's 25 and been a 4.5 WAR player twice already. He's valuable. The OP needs to give up on the idea because he isn't willing to trade nearly what it will take. He's more valuable than Sanchez or Torres alone. It's simple.

Also I listed WAR totals as if he has already peaked. His whole contract goes through his age 30 season. I didn't give him a WAR total over his career high. It's not as if I projected him for 6 or 7 WAR seasons. Cheap 4+ WAR guys carry a ton of value

Yeah, neither of these two would happen due to value being way off as well as not being realistic. Pujols is untradable, just have to deal with him. Also, that Gray deal is just odd. A's would want prospecs, not two decent MLB arms and two meh depth pieces. They honestly have a good bit of pitching depth.

I never said I wanted to trade one of them alone. I have always been talking about a package deal

That first trade is appalling. The Cubs have about a dozen better options than trading Schwarber for Pujols. Heck, one of those is probably just moving Schwarber to 1B. They could have move Bryant to 1B (he's eligible there in my fantasy league this season, thanks to making 5 starts), then put Javy at 3B. They could have put Javy at 1B. Or Zobrist, with Javy at 2B.

The second one is OK, I guess. IRL, that makes more sense, given how much more value Simmons has in that scenario.

Yeah a trade for Schwarber really wouldn't make sense. You just have to hold onto Pujols as that's an untradeable contract. Valbuena/Pujols wouldn't be an awful platoon though.

Second one is terrible too. Oakland would want prospects instead of that package of scrap
Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit Tigers
Pittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay Packers
                      Detroit Red Wings

A team like Texas or Houston seem like good fits for Gray, but trades within the division aren't likely.

When this osfm roster update is up what should I do with the Pirates? Thinking of trading Cutch around the deadline and may trade for Quintana to bolster the rotation and send down or move Glasnow to the pen. Thoughts?

Not getting quintana without giving up glasnow

It was discussed about earlier in the thread but a deal can definitely be made without Glasnow. Meadows + Bell + Keller then maybe a lotto ticket prob gets it done.

Pitt just doesn't seem to want to give up Meadows.

Or he could try to reignite the three team deal between Pitt-Chi-NYY that was gonna send Cutch to NYY and Quintana to Pit that wasn't discussed in the off season.
