He is talking down the road post Beltre. I would go after Vlad Jr. He will be ready in 2 years and perfect timing for Beltre to retire. Toranto is also in win now mode as they have their best chance to win now and their window is closing.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Guerrero Jr. is definitely of interest. I had forgotten that Toronto moved him to 3rd. That said, Toronto went out of their way to acquire Guerrero Jr. so I don't know how willing they would be to part with him, you know? But I definitely like that option if I could stomach seeing Yu pitch for Toronto.
I'm future proofing. Beltre likely retires in a year or two, I'm not sure if anyone has simmed a season or two to see when exactly that will happen. Moving Profar concerns me as the game doesn't seem to favor moving people around too much. Had Profar still been listed an IF in this game I would be more open too it but given they have him listed as an OF now, I think he'd take a big production hit. With that said, if I could pull a top OF prospect, I would definitely be open to going that direction.
The Hamels deal isn't comparable because Hamels had tons of team control. The Chapman deal isn't comparable because the Cubs were literally one piece away from a championship and over paid for it.
And you just should target short stop prospects they can play anywhere.

You absolutely cannot get Vlad Jr. For 3 months of Darvish. You need to go back and look at the Price to TOR deal to get an idea on what kind of value is realistic. Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Sure! That's why I'm trying to figure out real worth. I know Darvish is worth a lot, even as a rental. To some he's Top 10, to most he's at least Top 12-15. But I'm not going to fleece a team so I'm asking for some help. I'm definitely most interested in seeing what kind of realistic deal I could get done with Pittsburgh for Bell.
Half a season of Yu would be worth about $20 million in surplus maybe closer to $30 if you add a deadline tax

If Pitt is competing at the deadline then Bell for Yu straight up should work. That's most similar to the previous Greinke deal.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
If AZ is out of it and greinke is pitching great, is there a deal to send if to Toronto and for what? Obviously id have to eat salaryOakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit TigersPittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay PackersDetroit Red WingsComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
If your not willing to eat at least half then a bag of ball???? Last year really hurt his value. I have read that possibly my Yankees would possibly have interest in the middle of the season but D backs would have to eat 40-50% of salary and get a mid level prospect in returnLast edited by babybombers; 04-03-2017, 11:29 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah the only real option is the Dodgers because they can afford him but it will come at a major discount. I don't think Toronto can handle such a big salary commitment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Apparently LAD offered to pay $25 of the seal yearly and a marginal prospect. The ownership in ARZ said the Dodgers had plenty of money and they wouldn't pay down a dime. So if that's the case now you can't move him
