A beat down in Minneapolis if you trade or release Mr. Minnesota. Seriously. Put a pretty uniform on him and let him coach first base if you have to. I consider myself a decent baseball guy and I couldn't, in good conscious, set a deal that moves Mauer from Twins.

Not to mention (don't tell Twins fans this), he has no trade value. As with Albert P. and Robbie C., pay the contract and sit him on the bench if he's hurting you. You really can't use him at DH?

Thought about Pagan but didn't want to sign Him yet as I think he should sign soon with someone in real life.

Non sexy options (though both RH bats), R. Davis (OAK) and P. Bourjos (TB). Davis is a couple of farm hands and Bourjos could be had for a coke and a smile. Both can flat out pick it and run like the wind blows (thanks Forrest Gump). A poster brought up Bourjos a few days ago and while I believe TB gives him every opportunity to stick, past experience tells me he doesn't. That doesn't mean he couldn't fit your needs though.

As a baseball fan I figured he has zero value. Right now he is starting at 1B because I have Vargas at DH who is hitting the ball very well. I may just DFA or eat the contract for the last year. Sucks Park is rotting in Triple-A

If you're not winning, Park is not rotting...he's "maturing". In the spirit of full disclosure, I don't read your franchise blog but if you're using training options, he should be progressing better at AAA than he would at MLB. Theoretically, of course.

I am using training options and so far I'm off to a decent start. It just sucks because last season I used the Twins and Park had a great year. Mauler is struggling to start the season. I may give it some time but I am still leaning towards the DFA to call up Park or Paulsen. I am very surprised to the start Vargas has had, he's the reason this dilemma has came up. You should check out the blog sometime.....not too much on there.

Need trade advice. I am a Mets fan but I play as the Dodgers (Don't like to play with my teams) and I am a big fan of Michael Conforto who the Mets are using as a 5th outfielder. What would be a fair deal to trade for him? I have not moved anyone on my 90 man roster so I have all players available.

                Thanks in advance.

Complete hypothetical here but the jays are 1-7 right now and if they keep going down that path which i doubt they will management has shown they would rebuild so what would the potential value of donaldson be to a team like the mets, red sox, cardinals, giants or marlins. Just curious as to how much he could return

Well first off you are gonna have to trade half of your outfielders since the Dodgers have like 6 of them. Possibly take one of them plus a reliever and a prospect to get Conforto

In my opinion the Jays wouldn't trade Donaldson but if they did they could get 3 of a teams top 10 prospects so long as the team isn't thin in prospects. I would assume the return would be the teams number 2 prospect plus two prospects in the 6-10 range maybe 7-10

It would be more than that. It would take an elite prospect to head line it

As you are a Mets fan, I don't need to remind you but I'm going to anyway... 422/483/727 in 30+ games last year at AAA and then he leads off today and jacks one out of the park for the MLB club IRL. I get that you want your favorite player from your favorite team but the return to the Mets would be astronomical. I'm talking your best...Bellinger +++ and even then, it just wouldn't make sense as why would the Mets ever give him up unless a WS title was on the line and would they be in that position without him?

In a video game scenario we could literally empty one of the better farms in the game but the surplus value calculations alone hurt my brain.

Barreto was the headliner in the deal from Oakland with 2 legit P prospects and Lawrie. Granted that doesn't look like a lot now but at the time, it was a haul. Donaldson hasn't exactly hurt his value all that much so you're looking at a similar package in return. Elite prospect and 2 projectable MLB arms.

The Giants and Marlins can't play in that market.

And the Reds are rebuilding and the Jays would never trade Donaldson to the Red Sox. That only leaves the Cardinals off the list that was given and they have a crowded infield. But if I were the Jays id ask for Reyes to headline and ask for Wong and Carson Kelly to round it out. Studs like Donaldson aren't usually available at the deadline

If you're trading for Donaldson at the deadline you're putting all your chips on the table 2015 Royal style where you sacrifice the farm for a ring. And if that's the case Reyes won't pitch till late 2018 anyways and would be more valuable to an all in Cardinals as an asset to get Donaldson

In the unlikely event TOR ever puts Donaldson on the market and the Cards are chasing the Cubs (as they should be for the next 3 years or so), it would not surprise me at all to see Reyes ++ to TOR for him. But again, that would signal the white flag from last years WC team in a division where (for the next 2-3 years) they are only chasing BOS (and hopefully BAL).
