Like I said earlier, I'm not very knowledgeable on MLB prospects. I'd be willing to add another decent piece as I think Donaldson is worth it. Maybe Rio Ruiz, a good& young 3B? or another good prospect.

Fangraphs Eric Longenhagen's list has Acuna 35 and Anderson 54. Keith Law also has Acuna very highly ranked. He profiled similar to Victor Robles, a top-10 prospect.

We're talking about 1 season of Donaldson. I don't think you could really hope for more than that

Acuna is gaining a lot of momentum, wouldn't be surprised to see him closer to the top 50, maybe even crack it, when some of the mid season prospect reports are released.

I was thinking of doing a Sandoval/Matt Cain swap in my RedSox franchise. Money is similar in 2017 but I would imagine Sandoval's contract is longer than what is left on Cain's.

Like I said didn't know much about the prospects but if both surge and and are top 50 guys in the midseason rankings and the jays really struggle and sell off I guess I would be ok with this maybe throw in a young c guy with upside as there would be lots of comp in a doanldson sweepstake.

Side note: Wow the braves prospect pool is impressive

Yes it is. I'm in year two of (trying) to do the 1 on, 5 off style play, sticking to the rebuild plan. Somehow went 84-78 in year one, which kinda sucks because now I'm not drafting til 18. Hoping by late 2018/OD 2019 I have some of the Albies/Acuna/Soroka types ready to go.

Only trades I made in year 1:
Brandon Phillips, Emilio Bonifacio, Sean Newcomb (59/B SP spec) to Cubs for Eloy Jiminez (62/A/LF)
Bartolo Colon and org filler SP to Twins for SP Kohl Stewart (62/B/SP)

At the All-Star break with the Phillies (39-49), and it’s time to move the veterans that are not part of the team’s future.

I have five people I want to move ordered by their value this season:
SP Jeremy Hellickson – 3.66 ERA, 110 IP, 1.21 WHIP, 7.08 K/9, 1.71 BB/9, 1.6 WAR
3B/SS/2B Andres Blanco – 255 AB, .282/.332/.412, 1.1 WAR
SP Clay Buchholz – 4.52 ERA, 95 IP, 1.31 WHIP, 6.77 K/9, 2.35 BB/9, .6 WAR
OF/2B Howie Kendrick – 277 AB, .242/.305/.329, .5 WAR
OH Michael Saunders – 109 AB, .156/.252/.183, -1.4 WAR

Obviously Saunders has been absolutely trash, but I put him here because I don’t play him often and his ratings are still decent. Maybe someone feels he can still be a contributor. I don’t know.

Hellickson is on pace to be just as good as he was last year, Andres Blanco has treated me well as the everyday SS, while Kendrick and Buchholz have been serviceable. I am mainly looking for the prospect values of Hellickson and Blanco.

I came up with a list of teams that is either fighting for the division or wildcard, including their needs and any key long-term injuries:

Dodgers (48-43) – 7.5 GB, 2nd WC, Needs: IF, DL: Justin Turner & Chris Taylor
Brewers (48-43) – 8.5 GB, 2nd WC, Needs: SP/IF, DL: N/A
Indians (48-41) – 1st Division 3.5 GA, Needs: SP/OF, DL: Trevor Bauer
Blue Jays (55-33) – 1st Division 6 GA, Needs: SP, DL: Devon Travis
Red Sox (50-40) – 6 GB, 1st WC, Needs: IF, SP, DL: N/A
Yankees (48-40) – 7 GB, 2nd WC, Needs: SP, DL: Jacoby Ellsbury
Athletics (48-42) – 2 GB, 1 GB WC, Needs: SP/IF/OF, DL: N/A
Astros (50-40) – 1st<sup> </sup>Division 2 GA, Needs: SP, DL: N/A

Hellickson’s best fit seems to be the Indians with their close race, Bauer out 2 months, and Cody Anderson as their 4th starter has a 5.20 ERA.

Andres Blanco’s best fit looks to be the Dodgers, as they need to make a change to catch the Giants. The IF is looking weak with Turner out 2 months and Taylor 1 more month.

The Red Sox could use Howie Kendrick for some versatility. For some reason they have 3 catchers on their bench and only Chris Young as a back-up fielder.

I don't disagree, Jiminez is just on that short list of guys I really wanted.

FWIW, Baez and Zobrist were both on the DL...

So? You traded a decent SP prospect and some spare parts for a top-10 prospect in baseball. That's highway robbery

I think I may do this type of deal with Sandoval in the off-season.
The biggest gripe I have with him, believe it or not, is his speed. He's so slow!

At the trade deadline with the Braves I'm about 16 games above .500 but I decided I needed more power and Matt Kemp wasn't cutting it as the #4 guy. Yasiel Puig was my target but they wanted Kemp AND Brandon Phillips. Not thrilled about giving up Phillips but I figured he was only going to be a part of the team the rest of the year anyways so I added minor league RP Sam Freeman and made the trade. Picked up Paco Rodriguez and a second baseman top prospect from Japan to throw in the minors to fill the two spots. Moved Dansby Swanson up to the #2 spot in the lineup (which I'm not really sure if he's ready but again it was always going to happen next year anyways bc Ozzie Albies will replace him in the #8 spot. At 72 he's almost ready.) Right now I'm platooning Sean Rodriguez/Jace Peterson at second base in the 8th spot.

Approaching the deadline with the Yankees. 2.5 games up in first over the Sox, but the #5 pitching spot (Jordan Montgomery) has been underperforming.

Was wondering, what would it take to acquire Sonny Gray or maybe even Matt Harvey?
Oakland is in last and selling pieces, also the mets are appearing out of it and put Harvey on the block.

Thoughts?

I've just never been a fan of him. Was super disappointed the second I heard he signed with the Sox. I knew he was going to be a bust.

Matt Cain is in his last year of his deal in 2017 since he's been bad and his option won't be picked up. You can't do this one in the offseason
