Not thrilled about giving up Phillips but I figured he was only going to be a part of the team the rest of the year anyways so I added minor league RP Sam Freeman and made the trade. Picked up Paco Rodriguez and a second baseman top prospect from Japan to throw in the minors to fill the two spots. Moved Dansby Swanson up to the #2 spot in the lineup (which I'm not really sure if he's ready but again it was always going to happen next year anyways bc Ozzie Albies will replace him in the #8 spot. At 72 he's almost ready.) Right now I'm platooning Sean Rodriguez/Jace Peterson at second base in the 8th spot.
Why would the Dodgers want a backup 2nd baseman and a backup outfielder that they already traded away a few years ago. Give them actual prospects with talent if you want Puig not overpaid old MLB guys

I think you take this way too seriously. It's fun to be realistic, but its also a simulation in which you live vicariously as the GM.

In this thread we handle trades realistically or for fairness. That trade was neither. We don't really use the thread to brag about who we got the computer to give up for cheap. It's your franchise, you can do as you wish but we don't want people who only read and don't post to think that trade was close to fair or realistic

Was wondering, what would it take to acquire Sonny Gray or maybe even Matt Harvey?
Oakland is in last and selling pieces, also the mets are appearing out of it and put Harvey on the block.

          Thoughts?
How are Gray and Harvey performing this year?

In my franchise the Cubs made this trade twice. I always auto save so if I don't like the trade I just back out and re load it. But the Cubs trade Ian Happ and Eloy Jimenez to Minnesota for Byron Buxton. I just laugh at it. And then they did it again the next week. Cubs are in first place and have Heyward on the DL for another week so they are looking for a CF. But no way they would trade Happ for a OF.

I didn't mean Matt Cain in particular but a bad contract for a bad contract.
But after looking around the league, there aren't many ideal swaps so I may just release him, not sure yet.

If the Cubs are willing to give up those 2, might as well add a lower piece to that deal and grab Quintana instead

Harvey : 3-9 4.10 ERA in 90 Innings. Seems to be struggling, but hes a better option than I have now.

There's not too many out there. Anibal Sanchez maybe? You'd have to throw in a prospect but you might be able to work a deal out.

For Harvey, I feel like building something around Kaprielian and a lower level prospect might work. The Mets are big on pitching and if Harvey's not pitching great, they don't have much leverage to grab one of your top prospects.

I think you could trade Rutherford/Mateo + for Gray. He's got a couple years of control left so if he's pitching well, he's going to cost a bit. I'd say one of those two, a pitching prospect in the 6-10 range, and one more lower level guy.

I'm looking to do a Jays re-build (going to start it today). Assuming they are playing well, would Martin and/or Tulowitzki be tradeable or are their contracts too much? Thanks

Anyone's tradeable if it's for the right deal. You just have to find the right fit. Boston or Seattle could be an interesting fit for Martin.

Yeah, there's not many teams who could even use Sandoval.

Drew Pomeranz, Pablo Sandoval, Henry Owens for Martin Prado & Kyle Barraclough.

I'm looking ahead to the deadline so I don't have stats yet, but assuming things are going like real life... The Nationals need a closer and are competing, and I'm re-building my Blue Jays.

Does Roberto Osuna get me Erick Feede?
