No you can't get Honeywell for Dee Gordon, especially when he's playing poorly

Okay thanks for your help. After reading about the two A's prospects you mentioned I will pull the trigger on that trade.

I'm looking to move Tanaka in my Yankees franchise, I just cannot pitch with him I don't know why lol. Looking to see what ideas you guys have as a decent trade for him. I'm not trying to rob the CPU just want fmv in return. Looking at giving the kids a try so SP in return not a must. Thanks in advance for any feedback

The search function can be your friend. This is what I posted about Tanaka a while back.

          Tanaka:
LAD: Mitchell White and DJ Peters
          CHC: Candelario and Trevor Clifton
          COL: Tapia and Senzatela
HOU: Daz Cameron and Brady Rodgers
          STL: Sierra and Fernandez
          TEX: Guzman and Sadzeck

Didn't include Pineda because you wouldn't like the answer. He just hasn't been good

So I'm in 2018 with the Twins and Byron Buxton needs a change of scenery. He's only 24 but has A POT still...but damn he's just not doing well for me. I sim quite a bit and he'll have moments of being quality but those stretches of terrible outweigh the good.

Does he have any value? I have guys with less potential but way more production in the minors who I'd like to give a shot at CF.

            He's about a .210 career hitter at this point...smh

His defense is great though. Still has that 92 speed and his hitting ratings vs RHP is decent. Versus LHP they are abysmal.

I think by that point the prospect shine is all but gone from Buxton. He's toolsy as anyone but if you can't hit in the majors your ceiling is a 4th OF on a competitive team. Someone would be willing to take a chance and hope he puts it together, but your return would be lacklustre. Find another teams failing prospect you might like a little better, or if he still has options, maybe just send him down and hope he improves in AAA? It's a tough spot.

Yea I might just send him back down...

It sucks because yea he has the tools and I want him to be a guy I make a vital part of the team moving forward. Kid just can't swing it consistently

Hello people. Kinda new to baseball and to the show and I was wondering if a trade was fair.

I'd like to bring Marte from the Pirates to the Mets.
The suggest trade offered Dominic Smith, Matt Harvey and Lagares for him. Is this a trade that could be done? Or do you have any other ideas?

If you are operating in a world where he was never suspended then this trade won't get it done. They would want at least Rosario + Matz and probably some more on top of that. Now if you don't play Marte for 80 games after the trade then his value would be lower, but pre suspended Marte had an insane amount of value

Thought about this some more. Since you have no room for Marte in the OF you could use Conforto as part of the trade to clear a bit of space. It would still be expensive but its an option

I am about 25 games into my season...or around that and I said the same about Buxton with he wouldn't hit. I actually decided to stick with him and he has been progressing very quickly because of his high potential. He is now hitting i believe .275-.280 and I just kept trowing him out there. Give him some time.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

To lay it out for you. I am at June 17th and my record sits at 41-25 with the Blue Jays. That is good for 2.0 GB of the Yankees and 4.5 GB of the Orioles. I have lost Steve Pearce for the season who was very productive this season and a big reason for my success. He has been the everyday LF. Carrera has struggled all year and was sent to AAA. He also was hurt and is out 2 months.

I traded a couple of my AAA pitchers in Oberholtzer and House for Paulo Orlando who was acting as my 4th OF and having a good year. He filled in as my starting LF amidst a good season, but was injured for 2 months as well after 5 games as the starter. My 4th OF, newly called up Dwight Smith Jr. also went down for 2 weeks in the same game. I brought up Harold Ramirez who just went 2-3 with a home run in his first ever major league. I see him as a stop gap who can get me to the trade deadline, but if I am to compete for a title, I need an everyday capable LF, rather than relying on my rookies/depth OF.

All of my prospects are attainable. I would obviously rather not move my main guys like Reid-Foley, Alford and Guerrero if possible, but I could give up one if I was desperate enough.

From my MLB ready guys, Devon Travis, Jason Grilli, Darwin Barney, Aaron Loup, JP Howell, Dalton Pompey, Ryan Goins and other people in AAA could mov to obtain a guy who might be playing with a borderline/contending team. Here is a list of guys I would like to know the price of:

                          - JD Martinez (aiming high here): .279/.339/.494 with 15HR 55RBI (0.2 WAR) with 11.2 remaining as a rental. Tigers are 41-27 (5.0 GB division, in WC)

                          - Lorenzo Cain: .251/.333/.393 with 3HR, 15RBI and 10SB (WAR 1.8) as a rental 11.0 M salary. Royals are 28-41 (18.5 GB division and 12.5 back of WC)

                          - Khris Davis: .229/.285/.459 with 17HR 49RBI (WAR 0.2) with 5 M left this year and 1 year left of arbitration. Oakland is 29-40 (12.5 GB division, 11.5 of WC)

                          - Marcel Ozuna: .265/.325/.530 with 15HR and 43RBI (WAR 1.2) with 3.5 left this year and 1 more year of arbitration. Marlins are 30-37 (8.5 GB of the division, 3.5 of WC)

                          - Curtis Granderson: .233/.333/.419 with 7HR and 14RBI and 5SB (WAR 1.7) with 15M left this year as a rental. Met are 39-29 leading the division.

                          - Howie Kendrick: .241/.317/.304 with 2HR, 22RBI and 7SB (WAR 0.0) with 10M left this year as a rental. Phillies are 30-38 (9GB of division, 4.0 of WC)

                          - Andrew McCutchen: .298/.415/.535 with 11HR, 39RBI and 7SB (WAR 1.4) with 14.3M left as a rental. He is my favourite to acquire of the bunch so would like a price for him for sure. Pirates are 34-34 (2.0 back of division, tied for 2nd WC)

                          - AJ Pollock (I already know his price from TOR). Batting .259/.329/.463 with 10HR, 24RBI and 12SB (WAR 2.1) with 6.1M and 1 year of arbitration left.
                          - David Peralta: .250/.295/.371 with 7HR, 26RBI and 3SB (WAR 0.5) with 570K left and 2 years of arbitration. Arizona are 34-35 (9.5 GB of division, 0.5 of WC)

                          - Carlos Gonzalez: .280/.321/.536 with 17HR and 33RBI (WAR 1.4) with 20.4 left as a rental. Rockies are 35-36 (9.5 GB of division, 0.5 of WC)

                          - Yasiel Puig: .251/.351/.421 with 6HR, 22RBI and 6SB (WAR 0.5) with 8.7M/2 years left. Dodgers are 41-29 (leading division)

                          * I know some teams are competing/leading their divisions, but they may have other needs I could provide from my big club like pitching or other positions. I am flexible. Obviously, the rentals from the lower teams would be easier to facilitate. The one guy who stands out for me is Howie Kendrick.

Thanks in advanced and sorry for the long post! I am also open to suggestions.

JD is definitely going to take a top prospect, especially because the Tigers are contending. I'd say try to build something around Travis but they've got Kinsler. A 3-team deal might be the way to go (You get JD, Tigers get Travis + prospects, Team 3 gets Kinsler).

                            - Lorenzo Cain: .251/.333/.393 with 3HR, 15RBI and 10SB (WAR 1.8) as a rental 11.0 M salary. Royals are 28-41 (18.5 GB division and 12.5 back of WC)

You could do LoCain + pitching for Travis, or trade some lower prospects (Urena, Greene, Harris).

                            - Khris Davis: .229/.285/.459 with 17HR 49RBI (WAR 0.2) with 5 M left this year and 1 year left of arbitration. Oakland is 29-40 (12.5 GB division, 11.5 of WC)

Pompey + a lower level pitching prospect?

                            - Marcel Ozuna: .265/.325/.530 with 15HR and 43RBI (WAR 1.2) with 3.5 left this year and 1 more year of arbitration. Marlins are 30-37 (8.5 GB of the division, 3.5 of WC)

I think one of your top prospects might have to be included here, but I might be high on Ozuna.

                            - Curtis Granderson: .233/.333/.419 with 7HR and 14RBI and 5SB (WAR 1.7) with 15M left this year as a rental. Met are 39-29 leading the division.

If the Mets have someone performing well who could take over for Grandson, try flipping a couple relievers + maybe Goins if the needs match up.

                            - Howie Kendrick: .241/.317/.304 with 2HR, 22RBI and 7SB (WAR 0.0) with 10M left this year as a rental. Phillies are 30-38 (9GB of division, 4.0 of WC)

A lower-level prospect should get this one done.

Looks like he's bounced back from last year. The Pirates are in it so this would have to be something of real MLB value to PIT, and you'll have to throw realism out for this. Travis, SRF/Urena + maybe 1 reliever and 1 lower prospect.

Not sure what to make of this, CarGo is doing really well and the Rockies are in the WC hunt. But, if they've got someone to step in I'm sure they'd love to unload CarGo's salary and get a quality piece back. I'd say a prospect like Urena/Greene + a reliever.

                            - Yasiel Puig: .251/.351/.421 with 6HR, 22RBI and 6SB (WAR 0.5) with 8.7M/2 years left. Dodgers are 41-29 (leading division)

The Dodgers would probably want one of your starters to get this one done.

Starting a franchise with Baltimore and a few guys I'd like input on getting. I'd like to either add cutch to my outfield or Cain from Kansas City. I'd also like to add a starting pitcher and was thinking about Matt Harvey with all the trouble in New York. Only guys that I don't want to trade is davis, Adam Jones and machado. Trumbo, choo and any others can go. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Thanks so much. I am thinking Martinez is unrealistic as it's a lateral move and they are contending. I might look more into Cain, Kendrick or one of the DBacks. If the standings change in the next month I have good packages for the contending teams as well.

                                Thanks again!
