It's just weird. I don't think it has anything to do with Happ IRL start, more so the trade we did earlier had different circumstances and was a 1 for 1 swap. It's like you added lemon to the orange juice.

Use NYM and M.Harvey with Happ going to you, Harvey to CHC and Odor going to NYM. Add some window dressing and a serious piece (I'm not saying it HAS to be Tavares but it might have to be Tavares) to Odor. You've got to make your pieces plus the Cubs piece (Cease?) look better than what CHC could offer on their own. So what am I saying here...

    Cubs - M.Harvey
    Mets - R.Odor+J.Trevino?+D.Cease
    Rangers - I.Happ+G.Cecchini?

Your last piece is negotiable, most any young high C prospect from the Mets farm will do. Just because it's your idea for the 3 way doesn't mean your going to get the most attention...but you do get what you want.

In real life I think it's a no-brained right now for the Cubs to deal Schwarber. However in my The Show universe he's the runaway NL MVP leader in late July. He's one of three players I just cant trade right now. It may have happened before but I don't remember a player that won an MVP and was traded at the deadline in the same year.

So with that being said, what do you guys think it takes to get Chris Archer?

You think Baez, Jiminez, and Cease do it?

Yeah, I knew it was going to be weird. Trying to orchestrate a three team deal is much more difficult. Thank you for trying to work with me here.

I really like that trade. I might need your help finding a home for Neil Walker afterwards though.

I've changed it up a little bit. How does this look?

        Cubs - M. Harvey
        Mets - R. Odor, J. Trevino, D. Cease, Chi Chi G.
Rangers - I. Happ, P.J., Conlon, Jhoan Urena

I think that's a really awesome package, but I still don't know if it's enough for Archer. I love Baez and I think he's super valuable, and you've got some other nice pieces there. But with Archer's talent and years of control left, he's one of the most valuable trade chips in baseball. I get you don't want to include Schwarber, but I think Happ (or Russell if you want to trade him) has to be included in a deal for Archer.

Taking out some trash? You can keep Gonzalez and have Conlon+Urena as the return.

N.Walker has 350+ games at 3B. Now, they were all in AAA and they were horrible but he does know how to play the position and at 17mm a year...tell him to grab his glove and play the hot corner.

Not as much taking out trash as much as trying to make sure it's even. Although I do think Chi Chi has a way to go. Appreciate it!

While I have you, any input on your second baseman Schoop? I signed Tamada to Baltimore but I'm starting to think I should just swap him to Minnesota so they can prep for Dozier becoming a FA.

What is he, like +40mm surplus? Low B + mid C? The O's would probably flip for the chance to develop someone like K.Stewart. I'm bad with O's though...I would've started the bidding at Sano+.

Now that I'm thinking about it, no reason Tamada can't just play SS while Schoop plays 2B for the O's. Hardy will surely retire soon and the they'll need to fill the spot unless they think Mountcastle is going to be ready by 2018-2019.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Hey guys. In my franchise, the Twins dealt for VMart to play 1B/DH for them. Mauer and Paulson have been next in line for at bats. Kennys Vargas has 37 at bats on the year hitting .108 in limited action. He is surely buried now with VMart in town. Would the Twins give him up for other positional depth/low prospect?

I was thinking of making a minor deal for him or adding him to a potential Dozier to Toronto deal as discussed previously in the thread.

                    Thanks

I was thinking the same. Reyes probably has to be thrown in there too right?

Maybe not Reyes but Carson Kelly and Luke Weaver for sure and go from there. Can't let the Cards keep their 3 best prospects and get Q

I got my edit in too late. I think that's pretty fair. Given they need the pitching, I can see them doing that.

Tigers are out of it and are in full sell mode, Yanks are 2 GB in the east. Headley hasnt been hitting at all.

Would a Jose Iglesias for Tyler Austin deal be fair? Iggy would play third and push Headley to the bench or DFA. Iggy has a normal iggy stat line. .278 with 3HR and 32 RBI near the break.

I gave up a lot. not going to lie. My rotation still has Kershaw, Maeda, Hill. I have Julio up as well as McCarthy. But i dealt away for Yelich a package involving Ryu because the Marlins needed pitching bad and the both salaries were nice. I did give up prospects but its okay. For JBJ i did a package headlined by Andrew Toles who surprising has significant trade value in the game.
